    @ ajhons,

If you dont like his movies, just dont watch them :)

I think he's the only good director left in Pakistan (both for movies and for serials).

I didnt like the casting for Khuda Ke Liyay, but it was a good movie by Pakistani standards. It was successful but apparently didnt go well with the conservatives. The moderates loved it!

Thread title moved from current issues to where it belongs: social and cultural issues.

Next time such a misplaced thread might end up in trash.

    Thanks.

to anyone whos is criticizing SM and this type of movies.baatein karna aasan hay...kaam karna mushkil...i think SM is the only genuine, decent, innovative and reasonable guy left who is giving an effort in making movies..infact in our jagga movie mafia where likes of noors and others have the hold and our crowd only loves mujra and items..if he is trying to change the attitude......so let him do tht...

atleast its better thn watchin fat ladies jumpin in the fileds and horse riding dacoits comin to rape them...!!

  7. "Once again "Ta Dhin Dhina Ta, Ta Dhin Dhina Ta".. :)))))"

What I found hilarious was that when they go to, say, Bollywood, they take "Ta Dhin Dhina Ta, Ta Dhin Dhina Ta" with them. Case in point: The recent movie Kajraare:

    Release Date : September 10, 2010
    Genre : Action , Romance
Starcast : Himesh Reshammiya, Gaurav Chanana, Gulshan Grover and Mona Lisa
Description : The movie is a romantic thriller where a young man, a lawyer, (played by Himesh Reshammiya) falls in love with a girl (Monalaizza) in Morroco. But, one day, under some mysterious circumstances, the girl disappears. The man sets out to find her and finally traces her, to Heera Mandi, which is a red light area in Pakistan. He soon discovers that her past lies in the murky lanes of Lahore's red light area. From there the story unfolds about a man trying to run away from his past and a woman trying to escape her future and the unique love story between them.

    How original!
(I know @sherazi would appreciate it but...)

You have a good alternate plan. In case you can't go to Peshawar on weekend 'Bol' is second best option.

@bsobaid our tv dramas are third class rip offs. Gone are the days when PTV dramas were top of the line. I personally don't like 24/7 singing and dancing on our tv its forced into every ad and every talk show.

all ''masoom '' bhaio! SM is talented director but he is currupt. he took money from army for movie khuda kay liay . i read this story .in that movie he was trying to say that music is not haram and muslim girls can marry with nonmuslims which r absolutly not true ! he painted wrong picture of muslims n islam . mushraf regime supported that project to make happy their masters only.

i think they are trying to make it legal..:) or common fr the least.!

    --------------------------------------------

@oneup.you might be right in sayin tht thrs less story now and more lacchar pan in our dramas..i agree..but..you have to move with time my frnd..if you put on air the same drama types of 90,s now...only baba babee and over 60,s (which is nt a major portion of our nation) would sit in frnt for tht....no doubt they were gud as far as old is gold is concerned...but..glamour has to come...and its here..you like it or nt...is a diff matter..!

    -------------------------------------------------

"saadkiakaray.....nawa aya hay tay...chaa gaya hay..Thaa kar k...(atleast trying to)

zara halkay ho jao bhai..yahan koi masoom naee hay...

LMAO....fu*** hell....you are jokin me man...so SM is corrupt as well....aaj kal to doodh wala, maali, chokidaar, khaansama etc etc bhee corrupt hain yaar...thoree bohat to aap or main bhee kartay hain..corruption..lower level ke he sahee..in ka bhee haq hay.!

or jahan tak baat hay..army say paisay laynay ki...to yaar..yeh zara ziyada he lambee ho gaee ...isay wapis lay lo.teri meherbaani..ok fine he is liberal..but fr tht he doesnt need money...he made asias bigeest and paramount pop successs vital signs when you were i guess doing shu shu in pants..!

i just hate whn ppl sit on thr laptops and write harsh lines of suni sunaai bakwaas criticism but in actual nt capable of creating one of thr own..!

'Woman' is the most favorite subject of the writers, sculptors, poets, painters and the filmmakers... and 'tawaif' is a woman's most intriguing reincarnation, so no wonder that so much has been written and created about it.

By the way, it is a bit unfair and very impetuous to judge a two-hour movie by a 1:40 minute clip. Let the thing come out and then you are free to pass judgements --- self-righteously or otherwise.

According to what I have heard, 'Bol' covers much larger issues than simply giving a rendition of 'ta dhin dhin ta'.

Another aside: 'Khuda Ke Liye' did not try to paint a new picture of Islam, it tried to show how young minds can be led astray in the name of religion and faith. It was a bit harsh on 'maulvis', true, but what were you expecting? They ask for it.
