Just now in "Capital Talk" Asfandyar Wali Khan revealed that
for senate seat vacated by Azam Swati PPP+PML-N+ANP+JUI-F formed an alliance.

I always wanted all political forces to join hand and support each other. Hurrah, my wish comes true.

May be it is to avoid the vacant seat to be occupied by who ever could spend most money.

You are right, but please consider these facts.

- These people are either clean (like Javed Hashmi) not considered as prime movers in corruption. Ideally it should have been all clean people, but we live in a nation where corruption is on the rampage and almost the entire nation is in the grip - more or less. How many of us have at least not bribed to have issues solved. In an ideal world that is ALSO a crime.

- The top leadership make a huge difference. I can best explain it this way. Imran commanded the same team in 1992 and the team was TOTALLY clean! The same players became dirty after he went. This is what clean leadership is all about.

The bottom line is that you will see the same people behaving under Imran! That is bound to happen because IK will not tolerate corruption. I am not saying that corruption will be eradicated 100%, but I believe it will be reduced to a level which will not threaten our economy/existence!

As far as cricket is concerned, I think in 1992, overall cricket as a game was much cleaner then now.

On this seat, two candidates have been nominated, one each by JUIF and PMLQ.

I don't know the delimitation on the seat but I assume it will be of the size of one or two districts. PTI definitely does not have any seats. ANP may have one provincial seat. PPP PMLQ, JUIF and PMLN have most seats.

The alliance seems a bit odd. PMLQ is any ally of ANP and PPP in the center and province but apparantly, the alliance is against PMLQ. This may be an alignment along clan/braderi lines.

To prevent upcomming PTI govt in senate.Why??
Majority in senate at least can give them security not to expose and handover cases to NAB/SC..
this is all to safeguard their smelling stuff....

Just for the sake of some lighter moment, the reason could be the past experience of cricket. In cricket there is selection and no election. Hence the same trend is applied in PTI.

Even Mian sahib is using cricket lingo while communicating to Khan sahib.

So the new rules of politics will be based on cricket.

سینیٹ کے انتخابات غالبا مارچ یا اپریل میں ہیں اور ان انتخابات کے نتیجے میں پی پی پی سینیٹ میں اکثریت حاصل کر لے گی اور اگر پی تی آئی کی حکومت بن بھی جاتی ہے تو بھی اسکی سینیٹ میں کوئی نمایندگی نہیں ہوگی

جس اتیحاد کا اوپر ذکر ہو رہا ہے یہ کس کے خلاف ہے کیونکہ اگلے تین سال سینٹ کی یہی صورتحال رہے گی؟

لہٰذا ہر اڑھائی سال بعد سینٹ کے پچاس فیصد ممبران کا انتخاب ہوتا ہے

اب یہ انتخاب مارچ میں ہوگا

is mulk main aap andaza nahi ker sakty k ik corruption free leader of the party kis kisam ka shadeed tareen khtra hy..rest of the leaders k liye.....
PTI will not be in the senate..
Other will try to not pass laws in senate and bargain for every bill.....
senate remains the only BARGAINING POINT left the corrupt leaders.....
Let me say that IK will give very tough time to the corrupt politicans..
NAB and SC will put the whole leadership behind the BARS...
these corrupt leaders will find no friend and every one including establishment will like to HANG all these....
You cannot imagine what weight fair leader carries in pak politics......

perhaps I am missing something here. The whole point is that PTI cannot win this election for seat vacated by Azam Swati or for that matter any other seat in Senate until it has enough sitting MNAs. As of today it has none.
