  1. Furious Pakistan Demands Apology Over US Drone Strike
Pakistan Army Chief Terms Attack 'Complete Violation of Human Rights'
by Jason Ditz, March 17, 2011

Pakistani Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir has demanded a formal apology from the United States for a drone strike earlier Thursday which targeted a tribal jirga, killing large numbers of civilians and tribal fighters loyal to the Pakistani government in North Waziristan.

Other officials chastised the US over the attack as well, including Prime Minister Yousef Raza Gilani and Army Chief General Parvez Kayani, who insisted the attack was a “complete violation of human rights.”

The attack was among the deadliest single US attacks on the tribal areas in the past several years, rivaling a 2009 attack on a funeral procession which killed over 80 people over the course of two strikes.

Though the Pakistani government denies it, US officials have repeatedly confirmed that Pakistan has a secret agreement in place permitting the constant US drone strikes. The US rarely comments on its attacks, except on the rare occasions when a militant leader is actually killed. The vast majority of the victims are never identified.

  2. Look, fellow bloggers, I've picked up your terminology: Topi Drama in the extreme?

It's being said this particular attack was by way of repayment for having taken Raymond Davis into custody.

And now I do understand Shahbaz Sharif's surprising statement the other day as to the neccessity of political parties, the Court and the army working hand in hand. Naturally, it was meant for the RD "release" against the wishes and behind the back of the people of Pakistan.

This US's way of celebrating" Son come home" party.Expect more to come.

A high Militry Official rang a Pentagon official last evening(wee hours in washington) to ask about the incident.Pakistani Military establishment is really furious because in our Rymonds case on of the matter agreed upon by US was that no operation will be executed without prior knowledge of Pak Military. But within 24 hrs its just BANG.

You know what reply our military get."Now you know how we feel betrayed when you help Talibans against us and claim we are fighting USA's war"

ISI and CIA are still in serious row.Kiyani and Pasha both got extensions and they can only ask "EXPLAINATIONS" to fool pakistani public.

  4. "Topi Drama in the extreme?"

No need for a question mark. Army (and everyone else) has been FULLY COMPLETELY STRIPPED and CAUGHT with the American D!CKS up their rectum. This is just Kiyani still wanting us to believe he doesn't take it up the @ss for cash. Stup!d k@njar does't know the CCTVs are ON focused on his bleeding behind and everyone can see him perform the act with a smile and thank you. His mouth lies, his bvtt squeals the true state...

He is the one who played his role in NRO also.He was always a USA's man but acted like a hero. And our media potrayed him as a saviour who win Swat for us and rebuild the army image destroyed by his previous boss Mushy the great.
The day he got extension was the day I realize that he too is just doing exactly what his generals keep doing in the past.Licking American A@ss just for their own intrests, their own promotions and extensions.

Did I hear any Sou Moto taken yet about RD?

  6. Shattered beyond belief, that is what we are, ajhons, nota, we the people of Pakistan. A 180.000 million strong, the 6th biggest army in the world, Allah's country and sold out to the west even more so than KSA. Killing our own simply for the sake of a handful becoming even richer than Croesus.

Can anyone tell me what we are to do next?

Yaay right! Now the person to hear all this from us is Kiyani! Else it would have been somebody else in the same rank in the same uniform. We should officially accept that we are slave to USA. Remember the first step to solution of a problem is to comprehend there is a problem. Probably this then would shake us out of our slumber (painfully a long one!!)

Drone attacks were meant for adding insult to an injury

  11. The real insult to injury was money offered to the now dead Shumila (a little over 1 lac rupees which I am glad her family refused).

  12. Thank you, HF, nota. My own desperation lightened a bit. Exactly, the spirit of Shumila, that is it. That is what will keep us going in this whole dreadful tale of bare-faced betrayal.

Let us see how long the poor family of Shumaila try to defend their honor? The situation was so fearsome that even the champions of the Punjab politics had to flee to Europe.

Well they already have...in fact they have been the most ahonorable in this whole affair. Evern if tomorrow they accept any amount (which no one is going to offer them now, that's for sure), I still will not hold it against them. NOT ONE BIT!!!

The real boa constrictor is the "PAK" mercenary army. The army is strangulating Pakistan to an extent where there is no point of return. If the Pakistanis don't rise now, then maybe they never will. It is this BOA snake, which is also nurturing corrupt politicians like NS, SS and Zardari etc. We need to rise against the army!

IMO the scenario will be that ordinary soldiers will most probably think twice or more before firing on civilians, but the civilians need to show up in great numbers to impress the ordinary soldiers. The GHQ is a total sell out. They will only take "action" in talk shows after retirement - only maybe.

The jokes keep coming ... kayani you're so not funny!

ISLAMABAD: Pakisatn on Friday gave a strong reaction to Thursday's drone strike in its tribal area, in which around 44 persons were killed, telling the United States (US) not to take it for granted or treat it as a client state.

Pakistan termed the attack on a gathering of tribal elders in Datta Khel region of North Waziristan on March 17 as "unacceptable" and "a flagrant violation of humanitarian norms and law."

"Pakistan should not be taken for granted nor treated as a client state," the US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter was told by Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir.

A statement issued by the Foreign Office said that Ambassador Munter was informed in categorical terms that with the incident it was evident that "the fundamentals of our relations need to be revisited."

"It was for the White House and the State Department to hold back those who have been trying to veer Pakistan-US relationship away from the track," the statement said.

The US Ambassador was summoned in pursuance of the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

Ambassador Munter was categorically conveyed that such strikes were not only "unacceptable" but also constituted "a flagrant violation of humanitarian norms and law".

The US Ambassador was also conveyed that under the current circumstances, Pakistan would not be able to participate in the trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan and the US, proposed by the US in Brussels on March 26.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar was initially expected to participate in the trilateral meeting.

Ambassador Munter said that he understood clearly that this was not a pro demarche. He would rush to Washington to convey Pakistan's message to the US Administration at the highest levels.

  27. Interestingly another army/PakGov lie has been exposed: Munter just revealed he was a bit surprised by the "ahtijaj" by Kiyani/PakGov. He revealed this is the (VERY) FIRST TIME that Pakistan has done so (i.e. issued a protest to the americans). So all those "hum muzamat kartay hain" were for your consumption only.

China was capable of forcing America for an apology when aerial transgression was made by the American planes. One of the US aircraft was force landed and then a strong demand for apology was made. In our case, drone attacks have become a normal American practice.

China has developed itself on strong foundation in terms of literacy rate, education, economy, discipline,,etc. If we want an apology then we have to develop our country like China.

People are turning against Zardari and Shareef and americans can foresee that.... They wouldn't want to lose this american stooge too. This NRO setup is asking its daddy to say sorry.

If Kayani doesnt say sorry for this misbehavior of demanding an apology then the next drone is gonna strike Kayani and Pasha while they're shitting on their WC's with their pants down. These are khassi generals, this shadeed muzammat is for local consumption too.

US apology on Nato strikes accepted: Rehman Malik

    http://www.pakistaninewspapers.info/archive/10/us-apology-on-nato-strikes-accepted-rehman-malik/

Only on 2 previous occasions have Pakistan officially protested (or at least pretended ) against drone/helicopter attacks inside Pakistani territory. Otherwise after few days pass, everyone forgets and its all business as usual, we as a nation continue to sleep no matter how many drone attacks kill our people,no matter how our corrupt politicians continue to loot and plunder,we as a nation are continuously being taken for a ride and still we continue to sleep..

Obviously there is no hope from corrupt and sold-out political and military leadership which continues to sell their moms for mere 100 dollars..

NATO Heli Strikes lead to security forces(FC) personnel's death, otherwise both drones and NATO strikes equally comprise and transgress our sovereignty . Had only 'militant' died in hot pursuit all this hue and cry wouldn't have been made..

This is not the first time,in past too West have been regularly killing our troops inside pakistani territory.

Tensions rise after Pakistan soldiers are killed in US bombing raid

Relations between the United States and Pakistan were dealt a severe blow yesterday when American bombs killed 11 Pakistani soldiers.

..coalition air support provided to the Afghans targeted a nearby post housing members of the Pakistani paramilitary Frontier Corps..

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/2111326/Tensions-rise-after-Pakistan-soldiers-are-killed-in-US-bombing-raid.html

Since that time there had been resentment among FC troops against US and coalition forces,so it wasn't surprising when FC troops shot warning shots at the choppers that tried to penetrate inside Pakistani territory,NATO chopper retaliated and bombed the clearly marked FC check posts..

Daddy's spoilt girl Hina Rabbana pitches in! (Title: Sher aya sher aya
    Producer:USA/SA Director:GHQ)

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar on Friday strongly condemned the Thursday’s drone attacks, which caused loss of a number of innocent lives in the tribal area.

The Minister of State stressed that the drone strikes were not only counter productive but were also in flagrant disregard of Pakistan’s sovereignty and international principles and norms.

“Such strikes constitute a matter of serious concern and raise issues regarding respect for human rights and humanitarian law. Irresponsible and unlawful conduct cannot be justified on any grounds”, she added.

Ms. Khar further said that in view of the drone attacks, Pakistan would be unable to participate in the trilateral meeting between Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United States, scheduled for March 26 at Brussels.
