    When I was posting this, I found out there was no option of "Education" in "pick a section".

    I would request the admins to add a section on "Education" also.

    There is education emergency in Pakistan and the present state of affairs in education sector is closely linked to our politics (esp our politician's "kartoots").

    You only have to look at the state of some of the schools to understand how we squandering the most valuable asset of Pakistan; its children. The sheer callous neglect our education suffers from is, in itself, a huge national tragedy. A slow and devastating tsunami of illiteracy, joblessness and ignorance is upon us while we are too busy talking about 17th to the 31st amendments, who is a corrupt or not, who said what and when, and how best to mark the death of Nusrat Bhutto. I think I am going mad.

    The lack of posts on this thread is a symptom of the desensitisation we suffer from. The fact is that no Government in my life has given a flying f---k about education. People think it fated that little children of poor families work in dangerous workshops and in the houses of the rich and infamous whilst their own children attend school.

    I wonder if the children of Pakistan are just accidents? Unwanted, uncared for and mostly slave labour for those who are too lazy to work themselves?

    I wonder, should I be proud to be a Pakistani when I look at the total lack educational opportunities for the children of my country? Should you be proud to call yourself a Pakistani?

    Anyone, any view on educational spending?

    I guess the topic does not have the glamour we seek in a thread.

    It is however about our children and their education.

    As long as it is "spending" I odnt expect much positive happening. If it is changed to "utilization" or "value creation" then perhaps somehting positive could happen.

    No unity, no faith and no discipline is visible in any walk of life or institution including education.

    Government i spending money on education and private sector is minting money in the name of education. Good Luck to future of my homeland

    25 million children don't go to school at all. And those who do go; majority of them are provided with such facilities:

    Hyprocrite;

    "If it is changed to "utilization" or "value creation" then perhaps somehting positive could happen."

    Yes, perhaps you are right. Also we need to attach 'value' to education. We need to think it is worthwhile to send every child to school for the first 15 years of their life. Yes, spending on its own wont do it, the spending needs to be done correctly.

    Oblivion;

    I miss the point you are making completely? Do the children of Pakistan deserve better schools, better teachers and consequently better education?
