@hariskhan,
You are a rude and obnoxious. You claim you are a Muslim but have no respect for others who disagree with you. I will be the bigger man and not have an argument with you. I would now invite you to call me names and knowing your capabilities I know you will start on how I am running away from the discussion. I am not. I don't want to get in an argument. I fundamentally disagree with you. There is no harm in that. But I want to clear a few things before I will end this debate (at least from my side)
Obviously the United States and Pakistan were not initially involved when the Soviets initially came to Afghanistan. The Soviets came in 1979 and left in 1989. That is 10 years. Even if the US and Pakistan joined after two years, if my math is correct, the "assisted" the mujahideens for 8 years.
Secondly, it is my belief that no one has the right to enforce religion upon anyone. And I take this from the Prophet (PBUH) himself. If he did not enforce religion on anyone, than YOU do not have a right to do so. Therefore, I make the argument of right and righteous. My friend, you have the responsibility as a Muslim to be "right" not "righteous" . You have no right whatsoever to tell me that I am less a Muslim than you are if I disagree with your perception.
Thirdly, the US-British have over the centuries and decades abused much of their power. I am not denying that at all. As far as the drug trade goes, this did fund the Taliban regime once the came into power when the Soviets left.
Fourthly, accountability is a necessity in Pakistan. This may be exaggerated but if we were to be able to have stronger courts that can enforce this feature in Pakistan, we would be a much happier nation.
Fifthly,
Pakistan was one of the few countries that even recognized the Taliban regime. So obviously we would not have animosity with the Taliban. I believe, again I believe, the Taliban were more harmful than beneficial for the people of Afghanistan.
Sixthly,
I agree with you that cultural traditions of the Afghani's and Pashtuns are different from people residing elsewhere. Completely understandable. But it cannot be "enforced". That is where I disagree. A man to punish his wife if she wants to work in public, has no authority to thrash her. Even if he is a Pashtun.
Seventh,
I read somewhere on this forum, the values of rape had been giving. Rape is a universal act. As disgusting as it is, it happens world over. Pakistan is no exception.
Eighth,
Taliban had no right to enforce an religion upon any body. If I have kept a beard that is between me and Allah (swt). If I am wrong to have not kept one, I will be punished accordingly. Again, you cannot enforce it upon anyone. You say their was bad influence when Taliban took over and were cleansing society by enforcing religion, law and order. Fine. But when the Prophet (PBUH) was entrusted with Allah's message, was his society not the worst of all? But did he enforce religion. NOT AT ALL. He invited anyone and everyone to join him towards a peaceful and better religion. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) did not wield his sword at anyone and said convert to Islam. Again, if the Prophet did not do it when he was faced with the worst society of all, who are we to enforce religion.
Ninth,
The way I see history and the you see history are different. That is fine. But can we look to the future. Why can the Muslim world not be united like the European Union and be one bloc? That would be brilliant if it were ever to become a reality. Goes back to my sole argument of being a united front. We are too fragmented amongst ourselves, which should not be the case. Yes harishkhan we need accountability so that we can bring Pakistan together. If we weren't divided, we wouldn't be exploited at the hands of others.
Religion is wonderful and is private and personal. We need to keep it at that. Look at Islam itself we have so many different sects. Why do we have different sects? We can have a debate on it forever. After all, we have been having one for 1400 years. And by the looks of it, can have one till the day of Judgement. But again hariskhan do not be rude, if people want to believe what I am saying, they have every right to verify it and think what they want to. Just because it is coming from you does not mean it is divine. I read books and literature and so do you. We take out of it what we believe is correct. If we all thought the same way and believed in the same arguments, we would not have any problems today. But obviously that is not the case. Stop the rudeness!
