I have been observing mr rashid for last 20 years. heas tim and again proved to be agent of fauji janta.

the way he is defending zia ul haq and puting all the balme of afghan debacle on benazir and nawaz proves that.

the way he is praising army in relief activities. what should we expect after pumping billions of dollars for them. they are just doing what they should be. dont need to be extra thankful.

haroon sahib every article if you read 1 out of 3 is promo for imran khan. captan siad this captan did this.

please comment on this man and his motives

you want to be a pjilanthropist then be that , but if you want to be in politics ,, be with the people not in western capitals enjyoing weather.

I suggest HR should start writing the eulogies of Don Altaf, Embezzler Nawaz and Mr 110%, so to alleviate the deep pangs of some.

I would say people should discuss haroon as a journalist aand his agenda

  9. I find him liberal hater and Extreme conservative writer...One thing which I have constantly seen in his writing is lack of objectivity which is evident in many Urdu articles written by many known journalist but its to much in haroon Rasheed's writing...He try to create relevance of some big occasions in Islamic history with today's situation....In almost all his articles I find at least one story from Islamic history and then trying to make connection with today's situation...In defining Imran Khan he do it more often and try to make comparison between Great Muslim leaders and some occasions Sahaba...

He is type of journalist who have no objectivity in his writing and try to use emotional sentences and some times Poetry as a tool to make his articles Readable otherwise his articles contain nothing interesting except emotional sentances...

@ghazi23. You some up nicely about haroon's writing. It does irritate when he compare Imran Khan with greats of islamic world. That doesn't mean Imran in no where to compare but worshipping a person in that extreme way should be avoided. pak people already facing the aftermath of "shaksiat parasti".

    quiet agreed with qazi23
i think Haroon rashid is now becoming more and more spokesperson of IK, in todays column he wrote that nelson mandella was impressed with IK book. how come? any comparison of nelson mandella and IK, is he insane? what he is trying to say that nelson mandella calibre is of IK calibre. that strange.
since shoecide attack on Zardari, he is becoming more and more vocal in favor of IK. without any logic and sense he is trying to portray him as nijat dahenda or farishta etc.
it seems like he has now made an idol of IK and start praising him and presenting him as devta. for god sake haroon rashid.
establishment has no soft corner for IK, as IK has been in favour of taliban and said a lot against army.
pls dont pull army relief services in this thread.

Every journalist have some feelings towards certain ideologies like hamid Mir is tilted towards PMLN and in some occasion he also kind of favoring MQM in some of his program...Irfan Siddiqui is purely PMLN's writer...Hassan Nisar and mubashir Lucman is tilted towards MQM...Haroon Rashid and Insar Abbasi is towards Imran Khan and last but not the least Nazir Naji is towards PPP...So everyone has taken someone's side and only few are remain in this whole profession which are impartial....That is why I like Talat Hussain he is more impartial and balanced while another person whom I like is Saleem Safi for being very balanced in his writing even though I dont have to agree with them but I find them better then the rest...

    very true qazi 23
i dont have any issue with haroon rashid, personally, infect sometimes he talk to rational as well. like he took side of fauzia wahab of her remarks about quran and aaeeen, he took side of NS when he said qadianis are our brothers. etc.
but sometimes, i dont know what happened to him, he exagerate so much about IK and hameed gul. and show them as devta. for god sake they both are not of calibre of nelson mandella .

I don't have problem HR projecting IK. As someone noted above journalists have political leanings. In US fox is full of Republicans and MSNBC is full of Democrats leaning journalists.

What bothers me he is a big time GHQ stooge. The way he defended Kiyani's extension was a disgrace. The way he is praising Army's efforts in floods is a disgrace. The way he went after Taliban after GHQ's nod was a disgrace.

Agree! Everyone in the media IS to be someone's b!tch, isn't it? But no surprise...Remember he came all out to defend Klasra and Malick when pkp exposed them. Where did his morality go then?

No one mentioned what harron ur rasheed wrote about Zia and what was wrong with that. What a sensible discussion?
Is there anyone who have any idea about what haroon ur rashid wrote and what the guy who started this thread has in mind?

If I remember properly rashid in his recent article wrote down that Zia has commited many crimes but USA is to be blaimed for his death as he later on in his tenure did not give in American interests in the region.
BTW,who killed Zia?What history tells is it was USA which did not allow American servants in Pakistan to investigate the cause of his death.

Haroon very rightly praises Imran and criticizes when it is due.He criticcized Imran for his stance on Swat operation.
