Holbrooke's last words:"You've got to stop this war in Afghanistan."

  1. That is amazing.

On is death bed he tells his Pakistani surgeon "You've got to stop this war in Afghanistan". Who? Possibly a US citizen from Pakistani origin. That is, as if Pakistan was responsible for this war. Holbrooke remained a scrot on his death bed or was in Afghan weed until final moments.

An ambassador of escalation of war but in last moments he wants it stopped in "Afghanistan" and by a "Pakistani".

    BO-

Do keep in mind the legal position of "dying declerations".

For whatever it is worth, at the very end at least he spoke about what needs to be done.

And it does say a lot about a Pakistani Surgeon who probably was denied a position in his own country- but is in such a position where the highest political figures have no qualms about having a " Pakistani" do the most risky surgery imaginable.

Just think about it not in political terms but in terms of just raw talent of our people and how that very talent is accepted in all places but our own.

  3. He wanted his last words to be writ in gold for eva.

Mediocre Pakistanis do miracles in the West.
Talented Pakistanis can't do jack in own country.

Imagine the situation when locations are reversed for same talents.

The surgeon GWU may have gone like this, damy right I'd stop the war. I begin the process by severing your torn aorta. Adios!

Why such a skillful man still a hyphenated surgeon? Do get this too?

The hyphenation is the normal state of affairs in the USA ever since the civil rights legislation in the 60's during the Johnson Admn. The society has evolved in that same direction and it is normal to label people as India-, Hispanic- etc etc.

A bit on the medical condition affecting the man-

The most painful condition that you can experience in your life is dissection/ rupture of the aorta which is what happened.
For Holbrooke to still make that statement that he did says quite a bit about the man. Perhaps the fact that his doctor was Pakistani origin probably precipitated the comment.
But I will stick with my comment about the validity of dying declerations

  5. I will surprised the death hasn't been declared "a terrorist act" and the "doctor held under suspicion for having received training at AlQ terrorist camps in NWA" :-P

Death has shown him the fate of All those America Marines who are fighting for nothing. Death has shown him his empty future.

    That's why he said=

"You've got to stop this war in Afghanistan".

Death is ultimate reality of this world.

It seems more a message to ISI, the ones perpetrating the war in the hopes that the pakistani doctor could get them the message. Of course, useless endeavor by a dying man who was very much part of the Pak-US scam.

  9. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

I see the 'slave population' in Pakistan 'expressing' 'their views'. Why ? Can anything be more pathetic than that ?

Slaves have no rights, no privileges.

UPDATE: The Washington Post has elaborated on its report that veteran diplomat Richard Holbrooke's last words called for an end to the war in Afghanistan.

According to the Post, Holbrooke was reportedly joking around with a doctor when he made the comment.

As Dr. Jehan El-Bayoumi was attending to Holbrooke in the emergency room at George Washington University Hospital, she told him to relax and asked what she could do to comfort him, according to an aide who was present. Holbrooke, who was in severe pain, said jokingly that it was hard to relax because he had to worry about the difficult situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

El-Bayoumi, an Egyptian-American internist who is Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's physician, replied that she would worry for him. Holbrooke responded by telling her to end the war, the aide said.

The aide said he could not be sure of Holbrooke's exact words. He emphasized Tuesday that the comment was made in painful banter, rather than as a serious exhortation about policy.

People from the 'slave population' in Pakistan thinking on the 'bright side', eh ? That's what 'hypocr|tes' among 'slaves' do.
