Pervez Amirali Hoodbhoy (Urdu: پرویز ہودبھائی; born 11 July 1950), is a Pakistani nuclear physicist, essayist and defence analyst. He has also taught as the visiting professor of Physics at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) where he also worked on topics in theoretical applications in the topological insulators, various Hall effects and Graphene. Before joining LUMS, he was the professor of nuclear and high-energy physics, and also the head of the Physics Department at the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU). He graduated and also received a PhD from MIT and continues to do research in Particle physics. He received the Baker Award for Electronics in 1968, and the Abdus Salam Prize for Mathematics in 1984. He has authored various scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Ansar Abbasi did his matriculation from Sir Syed School Rawalpindi. He then joined Government College Asghar Mall from where he did his Intermediate and later graduated with a ‘Bachelors in Arts’ degree from the same college. He did his Masters degree from Balochistan University, Quetta. He later earned another Masters degree from ‘Goldsmiths College, University of London’ - one of the top institutes for media studies in the United Kingdom.
I have watched the video, Ansar Abbasi has called more than 20 times Dr. Hoodbhoy as "jahil" and that he could not talk to a "jahil" (Teray jaisay jahil say men baat karna bhi passand nahee karta). Academically, Dr. Hoodbhoy is an asset of the country as he is doing some research on particle physics. While Ansar Abbasi is branded as spokeperson of Taliban. To an American delegation, perhaps in 2009, he flatly spoke "I hate America". We can rightly hate American government nefarious policies, but why should we hate American people as a nation, is beyond my imagination.
No doubt, Hoodbhoy has a problem of psyche to irritate if he thinks something is low and cheap, but his behavior is forgiveable looking at his overall knowledge and contribution in the world of science.
