How to bring in the good leaders?

I would request people not associated with any political/religious parties to answer this one. They generally tend to be too biased towards their leaders.

How exactly can we bring in good leaders? Pakistan suffers from brain-drain every moment when a sincere well-educated intellectual leaves the country in search of better employment opportunities outside , leaving people like Altaf, Musharraf, Zardari, Maulana Diesel, Sharif bros or Chaudhry bros behind to rule our country. Pakistan is in dire straits right now there is no denying that. Many believe in miracles and claim religiously that Pakistan will always stay alive on miracles. I agree somewhat. But we do have to acknowledge the fact that we did lose Eastern Pakistan because of the same incompetant leadership. Moreover, even the current Pakistan isn't really a miracle to be proud of. Pakistan has lack of good educational insitutes, good infrastucture, has unjustified inflation, suffers from poor medicare, power shortages, corruption, unemployment, terrorism to name just a few problems.

How can we retain, produce and recall sincere, competant and educated leaders? How can we place them in power and replace the chain of never-ending "rascals" that keep resuming power using the sham version of democracy in place in Pakistan?

I really hope we have some good ideas as I do know there are many good intellectuals on this forum. Please share your thoughts?

Good leaders are gift from God, when nation are Humiliated, then good leaders are taken away and corrupt leader are thrown upon them.
U can't have good leader until u follow the truth

I believe the best ever leader born on earth are our prophet and his companion

The system presented by our prophet is a leader factory

    every man is born leader.

Sorry to bulge in here but we are not looking for ideals or examples. We all know many examples from the past exist - The Prophet Muhammad being the biggest and most obvious one and then Jinnah from more recent times.

My question is how to retain, produce and recall sincere, competant and educated leaders in Pakistan? How can we place them in power and replace the chain of never-ending "rascals" that keep resuming power using the sham version of democracy in place in Pakistan?

  10. People we are looking forward to are not present in the current rotten lot of politicians in Pakistan.
Yet when we look around and realize there are many who should be part of the Government but alas they are not politicians.
And there is a problem. People who are competent, honest and
capable to run a government office are simply not interested in politics or to contest an election.

I think we should start an awareness campaign (using all channel) to inform about capable people present in our societies starting from our own communities.

  16. Let me butt in, then, as a new voice. sasherwani sahib, I doubt that the new leader(s) will come from the Muslim diaspora living in the West. They are, no forget that, we are traitors to our country first and last. Don't keep finding excuses for them/us.

The great leader(s) will come from amongst those who have lived in Pakistan all their born days and they will obey the characteristics skillfully presented by semirza sahib above without even being aware they do. And they, as psycho said, will be a gift from God, born, not made, and still waiting in the wings to be acknowledged by all. Sorry, sasherwani sahib, a miracle all over.

Then, when he has come to power or they have done so, the brain drain can return to Pakistan and help to rebuild it to the limits of perfection.

  22. Leaders...I dont think Pakistan need leaders because we have seen all types of leaders as they are only best in talking(Barking for those whom you dont like)...What we require is help our self approach as no one will come to help us until we dont change our self and help our self to change the way we are...Their is an energy crisis and in such conditions people from other responsible countries started using less energy required like in China when ever their is an oil crisis people stop using car for closs distance and use bicycle to cover close distances if their is a crisis of electricity people use less electricity on the basis of their requirements and if we check those societies they are use to these kind of situation that whenever something like that is announced on TV or anywhere else they changed their habits immediately as this has become a part of their lifestyle now....

How much is the importance of leader can be identified by this fact that Japan transformed into a most innovative country of the world who was the man(leader) behind its success story???
Germany after totally destroyed to dust and also divided in half but came back to most developed nation of the world who was the man(leader) behind it???
South Korea was also war toned and it was most underdeveloped nation till 1950s but they become another competitors of Japan in Technology who was the man(leader) behind their success???

It is fact that most of the successful countries of the world are built by the people not by the leader so this relying on leadership is like dreaming that Allah will do something while we are incapable of doing anything....instead of relying on a leader we should promote good ideas among people because its people who have the power not the leaders...

  23. A very good analysis based on logic. According to this analysis it all boils down to moral values held by an individual and that is correct.

    Posted 2 years ago on 24 May 2010 17:22 #
  24. gazi23, I quite agree with you that self-reliance is our best hope to improve the governance of this country. Absolutely. People power is what most changes things. Please all, listen to him for a change.

One small correction, though, about the countries given in example above. China apart, a separate case, Japan, Germany and S. Korea all sold their souls to US to get where they got to. Now you offer us all the wealth in the world and in return we sell our souls to US, no way. Just not on. And I hope this does not mean we're bringing religion into the discussion. Our future leader might well arise out of the self-reliance movement.

    Posted 2 years ago on 24 May 2010 17:22 #
  25. @Mirza Ghalib

Yes you are right about they sell their souls but they didnt end up like Pakistan why????they still are strong and they also rely on USA(USA is the biggest buyer of their product)...Despite of relying on USA they are successful because they empower their people instead of waiting for some charismatic soul to lift them up(like Pakistanis waiting for Iqbal ka Shaheen)they empowered and they got successful their is no other way around empowerment of the people is the only thing and this excuse that they are American slave blah blah are just excuse because if those nation despite of reliance on USA are still successful and since they are also human like us so what is stopping us???Just look at Japan their is nothing called agriculture and also other things which Pakistan has but they still going forward....

Pakistan is very gifted nation as we see ourself as the natural reformer in the region as we are surrounded by population rich India and China and natural resources rich Central Asia and middle east but where are we???no where only because we are relying on leaders which are good for nothing but talking good in TV shows...Its we who have to empower our self and went to highest level and take matters in our own hands because this is the only way to empower ourselves...

    @ gazi23,

What motivates a nation? How did the Japanese citizens or the Germans unite to fight against common enemies like poverty, unemployment, economical crises, corruption etc? Im sure there mustve been a platform that a man or a group wouldve set. A platform that included setting targets and goals, a platform describing the fruit of labour, a platform that pointed in the right direction and finally a platform that motivated people into working harder!

Do you think leadership has no role to play in unifying the nation to work towards common goals?

  28. gazi23, my answer to you: they sold their souls, they are still in bondage and, no, they are no longer doing well. they are going down so fast we can see it happening before our very eyes, if only we had eyes to see. Slow and steady wins the race. And full marks for empowerment (I hate the word) of the people. That's the way to go. Please answer the questions those ahead of me asked. Perhaps from this back-to-the-people movement the new leader(s) will emerge, plebiscited by the people themselves. Thanks.

    MG,

To many people Financial prosperity is enough and complete living, specially non-muslims think about the same as the end point.OR getting authority after having superior place in the terms of strong economy.....

To muslims this is never the goal nor this is the end.Economy or financial strenghth is just just a Part of Life while strong Bond with Almighty and complete implementation in personal/individual and than National level is the ultimate objective......

Why there is so much hate in our society?
Why we take comfort and even pleasure in the misery of other people?
Why do we lack tolerance for ideas different than ours?
We have to change our mindset. We never try to put ourselves in the shoes of those whom we oppose.
I have no doubt in my mind, given the same enviornment and DNA, i too would act like the people i consider monsters.
    Tolerance-Tolerance-Tolerance.

  31. SufiSoul, I agree with you. On condition, however, that justice reigns. It hasn't really done so in modern Muslim countries.

zia m, I don't know about the first part of your post, but your last three words are words from my own heart and mind as well. Justice and Tolerance are the marks of any good society. And are most definitely inscribed in golden letters in Islam. Without them, no long-term survival for any society, Muslim or otherwise.

gazi23, I'm sorry I jumped in at the wrong moment. Sasherwani sahib is still awaiting his answers.

I think we have a lot to hate others, fight others, and be intolerant to others..
By this time we are struggling for freedom, freedom in almost every field of life..
Resisting the Old grips of westren masters is never easy. This movement have so many dimentions to fight, retaliate and get freedom out of.
So how it's possible to get freedom without any hate for others, war with others and bieng intolerant to others. This is never possible to remain cool as silent waters and get every thing we want, never possible..

On the other hand non-muslims dont have such things to fight for,get out of and bieng intolerant to others.
Their life is free from almost every thing one can imagine.
They dont have any religion to take care for,no social norms, family, family relationships which demands tolerance, hates sometimes and things like that..

On the other hand we have every thing enough to make ourselves intolerant for, fights for and struggle for such things..

This is life and we have to go with it.

Some characteristics are SPECIALITY for muslims only.May be most of the people out their cannot get what i say,but it is fact that muslims and non-muslims lives are different to go with..
You may be observe that muslims in this world are put into severe hardships than non-muslims.A recent example would be very much related to understand.....

A christian converted Muhammad Yousaf's life can be better compared pre and post ISlam life.....
You will find that hardships yousaf is facing NOW would be more than the problems he faced pre-Islamic life....May be some one can understand deeply this fact....
We muslims are put in very hard situation in this Life.....

My dear psycho is badly needed here to bring AYAT related to the testing of muslims to see who is the believer and who is not....It was something like this,

QAYAMAT K BARY AZAAB SE BACHANY K LIYE HUM TUMHAIN DUNYA ME HI CHOTI CHOTI AZMAISHON ME MUBTALA KARAIN GY..(more or less the same)....

I believe that no need to JHAK JHAK and PURPAICH ANALYSIS.Just straight forwardly we have to adopt the way what we have in our legacy......

West from own mid tried to creat a system and achieve material things at the cost of 120% of non-material ones NOW we can observe their MENTAL DISABLE NATION and their so-called DANISHWAR are thinking the ways to get back that Non-material ones which they have lost...

    @ Beenai,

But not everyone in Pakistan is corrupt. Yes there is a great part of our population which is morally and ethically lost but I think Pakistanis in general are intelligent people, quick learners and hardworkers if given the opportunity. We prove ourselves all over the world - from Silicon Valley in California to Wall Street in NY to DIFC in Dubai to Legal Counselate of Melbourne - I see Pakistanis everywhere doing a great job!

And yes it IS material progress that this thread is looking for..
