    Recently there was a news on DAWN, which I posted on this forum;

    DAWN News: UN appeal of $537m for areas hit by militancy

    Wednesday, 10 Feb, 2010
    --------------------------------------------------------

    which says UN is asking for $537 million from the world for Pakistan's IDPs. This is Rs. 45,645 billion when I multiply it with the exchange rate of 85. This means the IDP issue has not been resolved as Pak Govt. or Pak Army shows to Pakistani people.

    This means this issue is still at large. A large population of FATA, of NWFP is still affected. This news is only 4 days old.

    The people who vacated their land, they went to NWFP. IN NWFP, people are housing many families in schools, hospitals, etc etc. They can allow IDPs to live in their homes, but they need our help. ALL of them are poor people. Their economy is dead. These people need our help. Please help them in whatever way you can.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    There is information in these videos, as well as a plea by JI (from both men and women wing) from people of Pakistan to help IDPs, to help people of FATA, NWFP, who are providing housing for migrant IDPs, who are supporting them with the little resources that they have, especially since their economy is nearly dead.

    It seems to me, government has turned a blind eye towards these citizens of Pakistan. UN is busy in amassing aid for these people, where-as Govt. for the large part doesn't even run any kind of support collection campaigns for helping these people.

    When our own Govt. abandons millions! of our people, it will force them to remember the days of the British. They will be forced to think the British treated them better than Pak Government. For Pak Govt. + Army has abandoned them.

    @Hariskhan

    Well, Well, Well for the first time in my life i did listen to JI perspective & am impressed & i should admit that Mr. Munawar Hassan is a good orator who has a clear-cut, analytical vision & policy on the problems of Pakistan & Muslims, The ladies of JI are also doing a good job, I feel that from now on i cant criticize JI after knowing their points of view on many issues.

    But Mr. Hariskhan i have only one question in my mind that when JI is doing such a good relief & social work why people of Pakistan dont vote for them in elections, i suppose people of NWFP recently voted for Maulana Fazal ur rehman's party in the mid term elections, how can you summerise this?

    BTW Munawar Hassan is better than Qazi Hussain very precise & clear, no contradictions in his speech, but i like Zaid hamid as he has every solution to the problems Pakistan & Muslim Ummah facing today....I am ready to overlook his past involement with some fake idealogy...but that is a seperate thing to debate on..

    Because majority people of at least Pukhtunkhwa know that JI is the one who were the biggest friends of Pakistani generals and their taliban creation, which we hate.

    Anyone who tries to destroy Pushtunwali is our sworn enemy.

    DAWN News: UN lobbies for more aid for IDPs

    Wednesday, 14 Apr, 2010
    --------------------------------------------------------

    A UN envoy said he had just met donors to complain about inadequate funding for IDPs in Pakistan. — File Photo by AP

    UNITED NATIONS: A UN envoy pressed donors Tuesday for urgently needed funds for an estimated 1.3 million displaced persons in strife-torn northwest Pakistan amid warnings that some aid projects may have to be cut.

    ..continued..
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    What is Pakistan Govt. doing about IDPs ? According to this report, there are still more than 1.3 million IDPs.

    Did Govt. ever publish any report on what it did for IDPs ? How it managed the IDPs situation ?
