Imran Khan demands mid-term election

    LAHORE—Chairman of Tehrik-e-Insaaf Imran Khan has demanded holding of mid term elections so that the new elected government could neutrally pursue the cases of corrupt people named in the NRO beneficiaries list.

    Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said people have no confidence in the Government to pursue the prosecution of its own Ministers and party leaders.

    He said those, who’s names are included in the list, should have resigned immediately but they are sticking to their chairs to plunder national wealth. He criticized those who are supporting the Government to complete its five year term and said how people can allow them to continue their corrupt practices.
    He said if mid term elections were not possible, then there should be either an Independent Prosecution authority or NAB be made fully independent.

    why? PPP, PMLN MQM and other participated in elections and they have right to complete 5 yrs term... even if they are doing bad people of Pakistan gave them mandate for 5 yrs.

    PTI, JI and others should wait and learn from their mistakes.

    Though I like PTI stand on some issues, I DO NOT support their this demand.
    This govt should complete its tenure.

    Don't worry even if mid-term elections take place He would be again in the hospital (just like he was when the gilgit-baltistan elections were taking place)

    This guy has become a master at the art of missing the election train and I think by calling for mid-term elections He just want to show the public that he is at least good at doing something related to politics!

    From where did JI come into this ?

    Munawwar Hassan, Ameer-e-Jamaat clearly said, he didn't have any confidence in Mid Term Elections. He said, in his opinion THAT kind of CHANGE is NOT even WORTH calling! .. change. Why ? Because;

    1) There is unprecedented level of interference from US in Pakistan and its affairs

    2) There is ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, which means, the same corrupt people will dominate general elections

    Perhaps its high time that Munawwar Hasan should go to tora bora hills and try to hold elections under the supervision of ttp/tta there !!!

    and I say this because if one goes by his definition then only that kind of place seems to be out of U.S's influence these days!

    plus, there are lots of uzbeks & tajiks there who might be interested in voting for jamat, since, as far as pakistanis are concerned so i have a strong feeling that they would just disappoint jamat even more than they did in the past! ;)

    ucsher, you are welcome to YOUR opinion. Nobody stops you from supporting injustice, however, don't think the law of the land will provide you protection as a result.

    Unjust people have NO right to claim the protection of justice system. They abandon their right of protection when they support falsehood.

    Midterm election is a very democratic process. Canada has had 4 in last 6 years.

    Don't forget the current party calling the shots doesn't even have a simple majority. Their strength is 124.

    PPP has lost its credibility among ordinary people and Its proved by Karachi HUGE anti PPP rally yesterday.
    Judiciary , NRO, KL bill, Musharaf Cases and Drone attacks, govt has failed on all seriouse issues.

    Now Zardari's govt. is headed towards the end of its tenure. It should now be allowed to complete its tenure. Any act of dismantling this government will give it a pretext to justify its failure. Whenever any government is dismantled, its leaders later claims that the public was just about to reap the fruits of its performance and it was not permitted to prove its good performance.
