Just last week i had mentioned about criminal gang MQM Altaf burning Saddar's iconic Empress Market because mostly fruit and dry fruit vendors, traders there are Pathans hailing from Baluchistan.

Now this week these MQMized terrorist hit road behind Empress Market again and this time once again the target according to police were these Pathan fruit vendors.

.. “Thus, apart from the fruit vendors there is no one left who could be identified as a potential target,” the investigator said.

On 28th MQMized terrorists burnt Saddar's iconic Empress Market in which mostly businesses are owned by Pathans hailing from Baluchistan. MQM in past too have burnt and destroyed thousands of pathan owned businesses in Karachi, during March alone dozen or so Pathan owned tea hotel owners were gunned down and their properties gutted ..

Traders suspect arson 100 shops burnt in Empress Market : 28 March

    http://www.dawn.com/2011/03/28/traders-suspect-arson-100-shops-burnt-in-empress-market.html

“Normally we insert Section 436 of the PPC in every fire incident…and in this case the shopkeepers` association had openly expressed suspicions that it was actually an arson attack.”

The SSP said that the FIR was necessary to initiate the process of compensation to the affected shopkeepers. However, when asked as to why the FIR was registered on behalf of the state, he replied that none of the shopkeepers had come forward to lodge the FIR and therefore the police registered the case on their own to avoid any further delay.

Sources said that although the police had constituted an inquiry team, there was a dire need to carry out a probe similar to the one ordered by the then chief secretary to ascertain the cause of fire in the 2009 Revenue Record Office fire incident.

The chief secretary had constituted a special police investigation team, which had scientifically proved that the fire at the revenue record office was an arson attack.(MQM had burnt the entire record, during the same period Babar Ghauri's office at PNSC building also caught fire not once but twice on Sundays,MQM was desperately wiping off its traces of corruption by burning records)

The police had collected samples of the ashes from the scene and had sent them to Lahore for a chemical analysis. The results showed presence of chemicals suggesting that it was arson, a senior officer associated with the investigation told Dawn

If it is any consolation to other forum members, I condemn such criminal acts against these poor vendors. It is unjustifiable, counter-productive and only benefiting to certain elements who would never want city to remain peaceful.

Grenade attack leaves three injured in Lyari

KARACHI, April 9: A hand-grenade attack in the Lyari area left three sanitary workers injured and caused panic in the locality on Saturday, officials said.

They said that the attack was quite similar to the one that had taken place outside the Rainbow Centre in Saddar only two days back.

The early morning incident did not cause any major loss or damage to the property.

Investigators suspected that the “back-to-back” grenade attacks mainly in the south zone of the police organisational structure were actually an attempt to convey a message and cause scare.

“It was between 8.30am and 9am when two men on a motorbike emerged on the main road on which is located the Lyari town municipal administration office and sped away after one of the riders threw a hand-grenade from the moving bike,” said Napier SHO Inspector Nawaz Gondal.

He said some half-a-dozen sanitary workers were busy in their routine work and three of them sustained injuries due to the explosion.

“All the three injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment, where their condition was said to be stable. Similarly, there was no serious damage to any other structure,” the area SHO added.

Prior to the fresh incident, on Thursday night unidentified motorcyclists had thrown a hand-grenade near the Rainbow Centre in Saddar that left an intelligence officer dead and 21 others wounded.

In the Saddar attack the victims were mostly workmen and roadside vendors who were wrapping up their business at the time of the attack.

“There are facts which are very similar to each other,” said South Zone DIG Iqbal Mahmood. “Such facts needed to be checked to determine the exact motive and people behind the two acts. Even the hand-grenades used in the two separate attacks were similar in their make and origin.”

The Napier police later registered a case (FIR 19/2011) against unidentified persons under Sections 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intentions) of the Pakistan Penal Code while Sections 3/4 of the Explosive Substance Act and 7/8 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 were also incorporated.

Men lob grenade at Rainbow Centre, killing 1, injuring 20 others

KARACHI: A low intensity explosion outside a milk shop at Rainbow Centre in Saddar left one man dead and at least 20 others injured in what the police believe was a personal dispute. According to some officers, they were given reports that two men on motorcycles threw a hand grenade at the centre and fled.

The victims were mostly pushcart vendors and passersby. Five of them were identified as Awami National Party workers.
“Enough is enough and we are sick of listing dead bodies of ANP workers,” said ANP Sindh vice president Abdul Bari Kakar while speaking to The Express Tribune.

A senior police officer with the Special Investigation Unit told The Express Tribune that the Bomb Disposal Squad has yet to give a final verdict. He suspected that a dispute may be the cause of the attack. He said Lines Area was just behind the scene of the attack and that neighbourhood had lately seen a lot of tension and firing.

Special Investigation Unit SSP Raja Umer Khattab confirmed that the explosion was caused by a grenade attack.

According to Jinnah hospital’s Dr Seemin Jamali, their accident and emergency ward received 13 men by 11:30pm, five of who were operated on and two who have been put under observation. “They had small injuries, abrasions, some even had abdominal injuries which suggests there was panic and bhagdar mach gai [a stampede],” she told The Express Tribune. “One man had shrapnel but for the others x-rays will tell, or if we open them up.” At least two men were taken to Liaquat National Hospital, four to Civil hospital and two to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The men were initially identified as Tanveer Khan, Syed Anwaruddin, Salahuddin, Ahmedullah, Sirajuddin, Younis Masih, Abdul Kabeer, Qaimdin, Salahuddin, Azizullah, Abdul Rasheed, Nooruddin, Mohommad Iqbal, Ammanullah, Naeem, Mohommad Ali, Abdul Qadir, Shankar, Zaryab Khan, Tur Khan and Walidaad Khan. Razzaq succumbed to his injuries at Civil hospital.

law and order is a big problem... blaming any one party is not right. it is a collective effort.

Inshallah police of Karachi will be revamped completely and a city police concept will take birth like other urban metrapolis of the world. the City police shall have its own organization, own structure to fullfill the needs of the city. right now, Karachi security needs are not being met.

i have given my two cents of revamping police institution as a whole to achieve some efficiency in this system. do understand that i am not home minister myself to make any calls ;) im just an ordinary man myself, please dont vent frustration on me as i am not some superman.

As reported by others,4th haqiqi man also succumbed to injuries in hospital yesterday..

Few months back too on the same road Haqiqi's lawyers were gunned down in similar circumstances.

Just last week they had ambushed and killed Haqqiqi's senior leader's nephew on University road in Gulshan Town..

Many of these Haqiqi men have been expelled & forced to leave the areas in which they used to reside and they have been made "muhajir" even while living in Karachi.. by these Altaf's unit terrorists..

MQM-H leader among four killed in ambush

The vice chairman of the Afaq Ahmed-led faction of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi — said to be a close aide of the jailed party chairman — along with two party activists was killed in an armed attack on their car on Shaheed-i-Millat Road that also left a passer-by dead, police and party sources said on Monday.

A lone survivor of the ambush on one of the city`s busiest roads linking residential and commercial areas was under treatment at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, the officials said. The four men were attacked on their way back from the central prison, where they had met MQM-H chairman Afaq Ahmed, the party sources said.

Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that four youngsters riding two motorbikes pulled up near the car, bearing registration number APS-253, which was waiting at the Shaheed-i-Millat Road-Tariq Road intersection for the traffic lights to turn green.

“The four youngsters, clad in jeans and shirts, stopped on both sides of the car near the traffic lights,” said SSP Amir Farooqi of Jamshed Town while quoting witness accounts. “Two of them got off the motorbikes, pulled out pistols and fired multiple shots from both sides of the car that left two of the men in the car dead and their two companions wounded. The intense firing also killed a woman on the footpath along the main road.”

The gunshots alarmed some policemen at a nearby picket and they fired shots into the air, he said, justifying the police action that they did it because there was traffic on the road and they could not immediately spot the exact location of the attackers.

“The retaliation from the police forced the attackers to run away, abandoning their motorbikes on the spot. The bikes have been seized by the police and their records are being checked. We have also collected several spent bullet casings which showed that 9mm and 30-bore pistols were used in the attack,” said SSP Farooqi.

The three bodies and the two wounded victims were shifted to the JPMC, where Akhtar Hussain, the party`s vice chairman, was identified as among the deceased persons.

The other two who lost their lives were his aide, Abdul Karim, and the passer-by, Shams-un-Nisa.

The woman was a resident of Chakra Goth in Korangi and used to work as a maidservant in residential societies along Shaheed-i-Millat Road.

One of the wounded victims, 28-year-old Shoaib Ahmed who was driving the car, also died later during treatment.

After his death at the hospital in the late hours, 32-year-old Mohammad Salman was the lone survivor who was travelling in the car, sitting beside the driver.

Doctors at the medico-legal section of the JPMC said that the three men who died had suffered more than a dozen bullets mainly in the face, chest, abdomen and head, while the woman had suffered a single gunshot wound in the head.

The attack on Akhtar Hussain and his aides came as a grim reminder of the deadly assault on the attorney for the party's chairman and a few MQM-H workers on the very same road shortly after they had met Afaq Ahmad in the central jail last year.

Advocate Sohail Anjum was among the four people in a taxi that was waiting for the traffic lights to turn green at the Shaheed-i-Millat-Tipu Sultan Road intersection on March 17, 2010, when it came under an armed attack.

Seen as the party backbone after MQM-H chairman Afaq Ahmed was arrested in 2004 and later sent to jail, Akhtar Hussain was settled in Sherpao Colony of Landhi Town. The 46-year-old party leader was unmarried and originally a resident of Shah Faisal Colony. “Due to a persistent threat to his life, he moved to Sherpao Colony with other party workers several years ago,” said the MQM-H spokesman. “Abdul Karim was also living in Sherpao Colony these days with the family after leaving his home in Orangi Town a few years ago. He was 37 years old and had four children.”

The party`s spokesman condemned the assassinations and blamed the rivals for the killings of several workers of the MQM-H. He also demanded that the authorities “respect their right to nominate the suspects” when the police formally registered an FIR.

Meanwhile, the police authorities set up a special investigation team to probe the incident, appointing an SP-rank officer for the task.

“The members of the SIU (special investigation unit), a DSP and other senior officials will be part of the team,” said DIG South Iqbal Mehmood.

He said: “Unfortunately, there were no CCTV cameras installed around the crime-scene but we have eyewitnesses, including the wounded person, whose accounts may help in setting the course of investigation.”

    .

The newphew of Haqiqi's leader gunned down last week to was forced to leave the area where he orginally resideded coz of constant threats from these Altaf's MQMized unit terrorists

The victim was unmarried and lived with his family in Liaquatabad but due to a persistent threat to their lives, they moved to Malir Cantonment a few years ago,” said the spokesman for the MQM-Haqiqi.

Instead of blaming others, why don't MQM take responsibility for they own goons, if they do that much at least voters may take them seriously in Punjab and vote for them in the next elections, but as it is people don't want politics based on violence.

    @IP,

Imran does want DEBATES with secondary leaders of other parties. Just appearing in a program with another politician or a journalist is another thing.

Imran has challenged Nawas and Shabaz to sit in front of him and have a debate with him.

And about praising the journalist, it is his general opinion he has given on many programs that independent media has done a terrific job of educating the public and this has already brought big change in the public's political know how. Danish and other anchors, all played a role in it.

5 more shot dead in Karachi

The lone survivor of the Monday ambush, which killed vice chairman of the Afaq Ahmed-led faction of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) Akhtar Hussain with his two aides on Shaheed-i-Millat Road, died from his wounds at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Thursday, officials and party sources said.

They said the victim, Anwar Ali, was operated upon twice after he had suffered gunshot wounds in the abdomen and chest but he could not survive.

“He was originally a resident of Shah Faisal Colony and living these days in Sherpao Colony of the Landhi Town due to a persistent threat to his life,” the party spokesman said.

    .

In the late hours, two people were killed in an attack on a roadside restaurant on Abyssinya Line Road near Fauji Hotel in Lines Area, police said.

The police said at least four armed men riding two motorbikes fired at the people sitting inside the restaurant. “The assault left 30-year-old Sher Ali and Zaman Sharif dead,” said SSP of Saddar Town Irshad Ali Raza. He added that another youngster, Ahmed Khan, sustained multiple bullet wounds and was shifted to hospital.

    City paralysed by MQMized criminals

.. armed men riding a motorbike in the same area intercepted a truck (RIH-7793) loaded with construction material and gunned down its driver and his helper.

“The victims were identified as the 40-year-old driver, Mohammad Mir Hazara, and 35-year-old cleaner, Abdul Razzaq. Both were also paternal cousins,” said an official at the Awami Colony police station. The killings were carried out near Korangi Dar-ul-Uloom.

Amid intense firing, an unidentified youngster was found shot dead near Kamal Petrol Pump in Pak Colony. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, the area police said.

Same was the fate of a young man who was targeted by armed men riding a motorbike on Tariq Road. “The incident was witnessed near Edhi Centre on main Tariq Road. The victim was in his mid 20s and seemed to be a labourer by clothes and features. The body has been shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for want of identification,” SSP Amir Farooqi of Jamshed Town.

Figures gathered from the medico-legal sections of three major public hospitals — JPMC, Civil Hospital and the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital — indicated that at least 13 people were brought wounded to the hospitals. A couple of the victims were in their teens.

Nevertheless rampant firing was followed by arson attacks in different areas that paralysed city life. The intense firing and arson attacks on vehicles left hundreds of thousands of people stranded in traffic jams on roads.

Capital City Police Officer Saud Mirza confirmed to Dawn that some 25 vehicles were set on fire in different arson attacks though he claimed that police's timely intervention proved effective and the law-enforcers managed to arrest more than 100 suspects red-handed while they were engaged in arson and firing activities.

“We took several initiatives and managed to arrest some 103 suspects with arms and arson materials found in their possession,” the CCPO said.

He said he saw ethnic colour in the targeted attacks mainly on the buses and trucks. “We are hopeful about making more arrests as the arsonists targeted mostly minibuses and trucks owned by people from a particular ethnic background,” he said.

The police chief also said that the entire event seemed planned to trigger ethnic-based violence.

The facts gathered through the central fire station and police stations showed that three buses and a hi-roof van were torched in Landhi Town. A taxi was seen in flames near Malir 15. A minibus of route Z-18 was set on fire in Pak Colony. A private bus was set ablaze on University Road near Al-Mustafa Centre. Similarly, arsonists attacked a trailer near Al-Karam Square in Liaquatabad and a water tanker near Firdous Cinema in the same area.In Gizri area, armed men set fire to five vehicles — two cars, two buses and a minibus — within half-an-hour. In Nazimabad, a minibus of route N-4 was set ablaze near the Shamim Shaheed police post. A passenger coach was torched in Bilal Colony of New Karachi Town.

Three mini-trucks, one each in Gulshan-i-Shamim of Azizabad, at Water Pump and near Sindhi Hotel in Liaquatabad, were set on fire.

Most arson attacks were reported before the sunset, while scattered attempts were also made in the dark.

After the sunset, two more trucks were set on fire in Liaquatabad while a carpet showroom was seen in blazes in the Buffer Zone area.

A car was also set on fire on Mubarak Saeed Road in Jamshed Town in the late hours.

“A total of 44 fire tenders were used in firefighting,” said Chief Fire Officer Ehtashamuddin. “All the 20 stations in the city remained engaged in today`s operation as the incidents were reported in almost every district of the city. In most areas, we enjoyed police escort for the security purpose.”

He said a private bank branch near Lasbela was also targeted by arsonists but with the timely intervention by the area police the flames were prevented from engulfing the structure that helped firefighters to divert resources to other affected areas.

The level of maturity which is required for a perfect leader in non-existent in any leader. The nation needs a national level leader. Unfortunately, none seems to be qualifying the required criteria.

Isn't it ironic that even cheerleaders of this criminal gang find it cumbersome to go through "achievements and accomplishments" of their beloved mafia gang..

Don’t Worry One Day These Criminals Will Be Eliminated From Their Own People, Because Most Of People Of Karachi Are Educated And Feel Shame To Be Part Of Criminals Community When They Hear About These Things They Have Expression Of Grief And Saying That These People Have Lost Their Drowsy, Where Ever They Open The Business They Are Making Shoplifting And Plunder Every Thing Infront Of Them.

Many Of Urdu Speaking Families And Friends Living Here Abroad They Said They Started A Business And Opened A Medical Store After That Their Local Union Sector Dacoits Of MQM Came And Looted Money And Medicines, They Were Identified And Complain Went To One Of Their MPA But No Solution Finally All Were Mingled In Same Activities.

They Sold The Home And Every Thing And Now They Settled Themselves Abroad. This Is What They Are Not Only Killing Other Ethnics But Thier Own People Because They Schema From Out Side And Making Thier Workers Fool By The Name Of Freedom From Pakistani (Pashtuns, Punjabis, Balouchees, Sindees) Nourished By RAW Via Altaf.

    Irshad

We too should launch "operation absconding rascal" and send kill team to neutralise Altaf & Co in his hideout in London, then dump his body in river Thames after performing his final rites according to whatever faith he follows,so that his ignorant followers like @AltafKaMazar couldn't build a mazar afterwards and start worshiping and praying from him ..

Same thing should be done about MQM's south african unit terror cell ..

The whole of Pakistan is headed towards a debacle. The rescuer has to be a political leadership of high character and caliber. None of the politicians is really qualified for the purpose.

    Dear Irshad Saheb,

The fight is between MQM and ANP; not exactly between the common Mohajirs and the Pathans. These political organizations fight for their self interests and give ethnic colors to these fights.

The organization in which I work is a mini-Pakistan. We all work, dine, offer prayers together. Similarly, we share tragic and happy occasions jointly. What I realize is that there is no fight among the common peoples of different ethnic groups.
