An argument is frequently made from the conservative section of the country that innocent people are being killed in the Tribal Areas as a result of military action and drone attacks. Due to the death of these innocent people there relatives become angry and resentment is created in the people of the area. Due to this resentment they join the Taliban terrorists, pick up arms and start taking revenge by conducting violent activities like suicide bombings against the state and the public. Numbers have been bandied about like for one innocent killed, five rebels are created.
Lets apply this argument on the Pakistani public in general. There have been countless suicide bombings, bomb blasts and attacks in which the innocent Pakistani public has been butchered, the numbers run into the many thousands and many thousand more injured. The question is don't the relatives of the innocent public dying in the extremists attack feel angry, doesn't these attacks create resentment in the people of the area, and doesn't the public want revenge against the extremists, and why don't they take action.
Why this different standard for the life of a Pakistani Tribal and a Pakistani citizen in general? Why is there a different reaction, or the basic argument is wrong in the first place, and is propaganda from the supporters of the extremists. Is the Pakistani public to numb to show any reaction, or they feel they are like lambs just being taken to slaughter? Does the public feel powerless to do anything or they are confused about who the attackers? Going by the above argument made by the conservative section, shouldn't they know who the attackers are?
What is the answer to this contradiction, and why isn't this argument rebutted in the media, or the wrongful death of a Pakistani Tribal and a Pakistani nontribal should actually generate different emotions? Any answers.
