By the way, it would be interesting to find out how many of the pkpolitics visitors use pirated or unlicensed software.

For some reason, there are many Pakistanis who do not consider that as corruption.

What is the view of the visitors on pkpolitics?

This is corruption and against ethical norms... but unfortunately we are selective in finding "good" and "bad".

For example, here in USA mostly pakistani store owners run "lotto"/ jowa but the not much worried about that but they cant eat "Jhatka" or non halal Murghi.

chori Rupees ke ho ya merey Phd papers ke , ya inter ke exam main nakal ke sab choori hey.

*No doubt using pirated software is illegal and type of corruption.
*Do our clean parties ensure that photoshop or any other software used to create their posters were licensed (Halal) or not?

Using pirated software is certainly corruption if it is done by a PML-N supporter.

However, if a PTI fan does it, then it is just his personal life and no one should criticize it.

trial or unlicensed versions could be used on the student level or in order to learn that tool but definitely one cannot do business/production or any earnings from it.

we should not mix up trial sw with unlicensed ... unlicensed is not acceptable ...there are enough opensource , free to use software available for students or otherwise ... and there is a big community out there using these ..without resorting to piracy

  17. Due to expensive prices of these softwares, lots of people use pirated software. Reduction in prices will certainly reduce piracy. Just look at the exorbitant prices of Microsoft softwares; how many people in developing countries can afford such high prices?

Same applies to pharmaceutical mafia-style companies for their outrageous prices of medicines.

"What are your views on SOPA?"

My interest lies in improvement of self via self regulation based on natural laws of right and wrong. Best solution is that individuals move towards goodness without any need for government regulation.

care to elaborate what you have said here.
e.g if someone wants to learn Adobe even after 30 days of trial limit, how in this world you can get Adobe photoshop as an opensource ?
