It will be interesting when/if the relatives of OBL present at the "killing" of OBL gets a chance to speak their mind. Until further I suppose they are held back illegally. What is their crime?

I dont think IP will be a candidate for this post as his seniority no at present is 122, yes 122. By promoting him means more than half of the major generals may have to resign.

122.Maj Gen Isfandiyar Ali Khan Pataudi, AC[63] — GOC 25th Mechanised Division, Karachi.

There are 92 Major General above him of which around 50 are already superseeded. By promoting another very junior major general to Lt General will create further rift in the already low morale army. So I dont consider this news more than a feeler.
