    ISPR denies claims ISI chief met Arab rulers

    KARACHI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday denied claims that Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence Ahmed Shuja Pasha held meetings with leaders of certain Arab states, DawnNews reported.

    A legal notice was also sent to British newspaper ‘The Independent’ for publishing a ‘baseless article’ against the ISI chief.

    A spokesperson for the ISPR said that the DG ISI did not meet any Arab leaders from May 1 and May 9.

    During his visits to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the ISI chief had only held meetings with his counterparts, the spokesperson said.

    The visits focused on exchange of intelligence between the secret agencies of the stated countries.

    I cannot know for sure, but I think these allegations are false. If they should "meet" anybody then it would have been the Americans, and that is not the case on this issue -IMO.

    If anybody would want to meet arab leaders for a clearance it would be Nalaik Sharif. He has a history of collaboration with incompetent Arab leaders.

    The question is why was this released so late...they come the second day to deny any reapproachment between President and COAS...with the release of statement about the 1 min phone call...

    how can they deny the credibility of one portion of the transcript...then the whole transcript becomes bogus and untrustworthy...

    Lets see how the ISI can spin this around :)

    The core issue is that we are not told the truth on most occasion by anyone - be it GHQ or politicians.

    The Arab state heads are mostly American stooges. When America does have to appear in the scenario for doing something their the services of Arab state heads are applied. Nawaz Shariff was rescued by the Americans through Saudi Arabia.

    Denial tau aana he tau.

    ISPR wont be releasing minutes of meetings :)

    Irrespective of this memo-gate and coups activities, Kiyani and Pasha have failed miserably at doing their job. That is, protecting the homeland.

    If not for anything else, they should resign just for their failure. We have already given them enough plots, lands, servants, cars..what else do they want?

    @bsobaid

    That cable of wikileak was fake. Only cables regarding Zardari were true. Aaee Samajh
