No matter what Javed Hashmi does, he is one of the most respected individuals and politicians in Pakistan.

Golly!! didn't realize that this could be such an earth shattering news. Perhaps Imran Khan is trying to rope in a credible politician for a change.

@Bawa,
The party that Hashmi is hailing from, it would be his honor to be inducted to PTI.
PMLN is one corrupt party of Pakistan.

@ Just_one

How could you say Javed Hashmi is more "qadawar" than Imran Khan? He is a senior, that's all.
Imran Khan had chosen the harder path than what political leaders did. He created his own party which was beyond the capabilities of men like Javed Hashmi. He took on the system head on, struggled in opposition for years.
And as far outspokenness, that's not problematic. PTI encourages different streams of thought. What has Imran to hide? Did you know before the dharna, when Hashmi addressed the journalist before the assembly, he criticized Imran as well and said that he should apologize for his support for Musharraf? Yet Imran praised him to no end during the dharna. These petty matters might be an issue in PMLN, whose leadership have everything to hide. But Imran does not fear such outspokenness. Miraj Khan was a dictator himself, who went against the CEC decision, though he had the right to quit if he thought the decision was wrong.

@ Anwer Kamal

@abytude,
Rakh lo yarr Javed Hashmi ko........yeh bhee apnay illustrious political career par kalak potay ga Imran Khan kay saath mil kar.....jahan PTI walon ki itnee zamanatian zubt hui hain, wahan Javed Hashmi kee bhee sahi......
Personally speaking, Javed Hashmi is indulging in foreplay with Imran Khan and trying to make a **** out of him. whatever has happened in the last few days with reference to his supposed differences with NS is actually part of a policy which has full backing of NS and SS.

@bawa,
I apreeciate Hashimi struggle, but no two men are alike.
Imran Khan led Pakistan to glory in the sport of cricket. Then he built the most advanced and sophisticated medical facility dedicated to cancer treatment (free of cost to the poor) in the whole country, which is one of the most advanced in the entire region.
He has contributed tremendously in the relief efforts in every recent disaster that struck Pakistan. His flood relief efforts were recognized to be the most fruitful (see in the video I posted).
He has developed a highly advanced technical university in a remote area of Pakistan, affiliated with the Bradford university, of which he is the vice Chancellor.
He is one of the most well recognized Pakistani on the international stage, with honorary awards ranging from cricket to charity.
You should see this:
His political struggle consists of honest politics and not power politics. It would have been very easy for him to enter into power politics through joining N-league or other existing parties, but he chose to take head on the system.
So all in all, his stature is no less than that of Hashmi, if not more.

Glory of support of cricket.
It was only god who helped Pakistan,
Look at that world cup again.
Only Allah Mian helped us.
We have seen many good cricketers but only one legend
Javed Miandad.

@Siddiqi
Time will tell if Hashmi sb is trying to set Khan up but I dont have any reason to believe that.
I think Hashmi will come home soon. Infact every N leager if given the choice would pick PTI anyday.
There problem is that they dont want to be called a lota when infact switching on principal is not lotacracy.

@abytude
People are leaving PML(N) left right and center because of their incompetent and weak leadership. They refuse to stand up on anything.
My family was Pml(n) supporter once but now I have convinced them not to vote for these morons ever again. Time for them to get rid of Sharif brothers and promote someone like Javed Hashmi or Raja Zafar ul haq to lead the party.

a good move....I think imran khan has been convincing Mr Javed Hashmi from sometime to join PTI and Javed Sab may also want it too but the hindrance is PMNL N...i wish that he joins hands with Imran to support him in coming elections as PTI needs such ppl in their party....

@RhyMe
"Mr Javed Hashmi from sometime to join PTI"
But will this really help PTI? Javed hashmi is pretty much side-lined by PML-N. And it will add fuel to PML-N's oft-repeated claim "PTI takes our rejects!"And I doubt Javed Hashmi will leave PML-N this late in his career.
Posted 1 year ago on 08 May 2011 19:48 # -
yes it will help...Javed Hashmi has a clean political record and is much respected and praised by ppl from different political parties...
now when imran allowed ppl like Jazi Khan to contest elections from Pindi then everyone criticized imran severely for his choice and now that hes trying to add sum genuine ppl in PTI then again ppl are not satisfied....i ask then from where should he choose the ppl for PTI?...dont forget in a country like pakistan its not easy for an unknown or unfamiliar person to win elections so PTI had to add some known personalities too besides some new ones....
Posted 1 year ago on 08 May 2011 19:58 # -
I dont think Hashmi will make a big difference. But a clean guy is always welcome to PTI.
I believe he still has a lot to offer to the people of Pakistan. Although N league would differ with me on this and as per them, Hashmi sb is now a baba.

"dont forget in a country like pakistan its not easy for an unknown or unfamiliar person to win elections"
So we are going to fall back on the old guard, the makhdooms, the feudals, etc. And this is change? Doesn't PTI accuse MQM of the same?? At least their candidates are "unknown or unfamiliar"...

Why don't induct Shah Mahmood Qureshi to the hall of fame also? He is also quite clean of corruption and his ground, too, has been pulled from the underneath.
