Land Mafia…….Who are they?
The Punjab government has devised the following and tasked a newly formed task force to act accordingly.
TARGET-Elimination of LAND MAFIA!
1. PREPARE A COMPREHENSIVE DIRECTORY OF ALL STATE LANDS WHICH ARE UNDER UNAUTHORISED OCCUPATION.
The exercise of preparing the directory shall be undertaken with extreme care and diligence. It shall then be submitted to the senior member, Board of Revenue for compilation and finalization. The said task shall be completed within 14 days positively.
2. PREPARE A LIST OF ALL PENDING CASES OF ILLEGAL/UNAUTHORISED OCCUPATION OF GOVERNMENT/PRIVATELY OWNED LAND within the district.
3. IDENTIFICATION OF QABZA GROUPS, REVENUE OFFICERS AND OTHER GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS who have been allegedly involved in land grabbing.
4. EXAMINE THE ISSUE OF MASSIVE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE NEW PRIVATELY OWNED HOUSING SOCIETIES and to identify measures to provide relief to the public through the revenue department in a tangible manner.
5. FIRM UP RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROPOSALS FOR POLICY REFORM and to submit these to the provincial government for consideration and implementation.
Do you think the mentioned actions would be enough in eradication of the land mafia itself?
A comprehensive directory will be submitted to the senior member, Board of Revenue for compilation and finalization. Do you think that the government is missing out on the involvement of REVENUE BOARD itself and leaving out the most involved from the Board of Revenue such as:
-Executive District Officer (Revenue)
-District Officer (Revenue)
-Deputy District Officer (R)/Staff Officer/revenue/registration/general
-Tehsildar
-Naib-Tehsildar
-Girdawar
-Patwari
What else is the government missing out?
