@Anwer Kamal: It would be rare in US for lawyers to glorify the murderer though. Big difference.

Does anyone think the term "clean-shaven" is new dimension in the US of A psyche and in the local vernacular?
"The gunman was white clean-shaven".
and indirectly points to iPhobia?

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
The crime rate in USA as well as other western nation states is "greatly" "under-reported". The "nature" of crimes in USA as well as other western nation states is also "greatly" "under-reported".
This has been by design.
Yet one has just to "dig deeper", "beyond the surface" to find reality as it really is.

The lawyers in Islamabad should not be blamed. Why ?
Because they simply trying to get free publicity through the great champions of Freedom- the TV news Media on this Blasphemy band wagon.
Imagine the name recognition the group of defending lawyers will get for defending this killer. It might even lead to a run for the Senate !After all they are merely following the example set by the Mullahs, religious parties and some of the news paper writers and politicians.
If the Mullahs can take advantage of the blasphemy issue specifically and religion of Islam in general- what is to stop the lawyers and shopkeepers from benefit from it.
In Peshawer- some shop keepers are adding the slogan of " Ashiq E Rasul to their sign boards so more of the Ashiq E Rasul will buy their product.
Simple Capitalism.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
@shimatoree: Your words are empty, hollow accusations that lack credibility.
(1) What you'r saying with respect to lawyers is not the reason for which so many them turned up to "represent" Mr. Qadri in the court of law
How can I say this ? Because none of them wants or expects to be compensated for it in any way what-so-ever. They neither want nor expect anything in return for it. Most if not all of them want to "represent" Mr. Qadri in the court of law, for FREE!. How is that "Simple Capitalism" ?
There's little or no mass media coverage of trials that take place in the court of law in Pakistan. Take other many popular cases for reference. NRO case is one instance from recent history.
(2) Muslims have been (ab)using or disobeying DEEN-e-Islam's name to "sell" their wares/goods and services for decades now. They already know it doesn't work, since decades. They'v experimented/practiced it and found this out repeatedly
Secondly, when Muslims do (ab)use Islam to sell their wares/goods and services, they know they are "forced" to do it, because they are still living under "indirect" "slavery", under the shadow of "tyrants". When tyrants have all the power, resources, might to deny the common man to engage in fair trade, it stands to reason they'll be "forced" to "adapt".
Islam's standards are "dynamic". They adapt to situation a human being or group of human beings is faced with. In short, Islam allow for ways in which the common man can "adapt" in these circumstances.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
I have a good number of links to videos present on the web that show the crimes, the nature of crimes committed in the west.
I'v decided not to reference them on this thread, so far. Why ? Because my purpose is not to engage in mud-slinging. Mud-slinging or the like activity is not "constructive", "productive". I encourage everyone to do their own independent research into this.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
@shimatoree: There's no cure for "suspicions" and people who have them, other than to let them be.
That's the wise course of action for me, regarding you and your words.

The difference btw the mad ppl in Pakistan and USA is that in the US, killers are not garlanded, supported or made heros by the clergy/ religious establishment.
They are treated for what they are - Murderers and killers.Posted 1 year ago on 10 Jan 2011 2:53 # -
Here we have the barelvi dance group Sunni Tehreek threatening for release of their dancer boy Qadri. That's the key difference.
http://dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=20111\10\story_10-1-2011_pg7_2
Led by Rawalpindi ST ulema board’s chairman Allama Ghufran Mehmood Sialvi, scores of other activists including ST City Convener Allama Attaur Rehman Dhanial, Mufti Sulman Rizvi, Syed Inayatul Haq Shah, Pir Sarkar G, Allama Farooq Chishti, Mufti Khteeb Ahmed al-Azhri, Advocate Raja Shujahur Rehman, Malik Abdul Rahuf, Sahibzada Shahid Mansoor, religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought, Shabab-e-Milli Pakistan office-bearers and workers and a large number of seminaries’ students took part in the protest demonstration.
They were holding ST flags, portraits of Qadri, banners and placards inscribed with slogans in support of Qadri, demanding his release immediately.
While addressing the protestors, Sialvi said ST would provide legal and constitutional support to Qadri and would look after his family members.
“If Qadri is given death sentence, the whole nation will besiege Parliament House,” Sialvi warned.

Why are we so obsessed with the west. Why is out response to everything bad thing in out society "well, westerners do it too".
Someone said crime is heavily under reported in the west, absolute BS. If anything, conservatives always try to over report the crime and blame it on increased immigration (read stats Canada reports on crime in Canada and see conservative party of Canada's stance on crime). This just goes to show our disconnect from the west.
Let's leave them be an d concentrate on our own betterment.

I heard Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is a Democrat who voted for health care that some red necks violently opposed. The good thing is no Republican is supporting this target killing unlike our right wing mullahs and lawyers. It's a shame our lawyers who pledged to uphold law are defending this brutal murder.

She also voted for liberalizing gun laws in Arizona (ironically). Unlikely to be back in congress due to nature of her injuries.
