    nothing is worth watching in it...
    and no story indeed ...
    as its an open secret now ...that who made Kashif to go?
    he himself has said in Rohi channel 's program.

    only appreciating factor is that
    at least one more brave journalist ,who has courage to voice for his fellow journalist.

    What puzzles me is that dr. shahid masood usually has harsher programs, but no one touches him. Kashif seemed balanced to me, but they all pushed him out?

    It's gotta do with the ownership. Shakil ur Rehman backed his team even when Musharraf shut them down.

    Dr sahib has been sold once...
    so they are OK with him ...any day they can purchase him again with a bigger bargain .
    on the other hand Kashif has not been sold once.
    thats the problem with Kashif.
    he is not interested in getting richest of the richest.

    There is difference between boldness and 'badtameez' !
    For me Kashif Abbasi is a very 'badtameez' anchoperson !

    it depends ...
    if Kashif is asking tough questions to whom you like as a party rep.you would take Kashif words as Badtameezi.
    others who want politicians to be answerable and wanna have a person to ask tough questions on their behalf ,feels that Kashif is a bold anchor .
    definition differs person to person.

    Compare Kashif Abbasi with Talat Hussain.
    For me Talat Hussain is 'Bold' while Kashif Abbasi is 'Badtameez' !

    everyone has his/her own definition as well as own style of boldness ....
    for Talat hussian being bold is different then for Kashif Abbasi...
    1. u got to see the age and experience difference ...
    Talat is a matured journalist ,who knows when to attack ,how to attack ? and that's why we see some where getting diplomatic and some days getting tough ....
    after doing a series coverage of SWAT operation at SWAT ,and criticizing Govt ,Talat did a program on how SWAT is getting back to life while sitting in helicopter ...
    hence producing Govt side of the picture ...
    so he do know well...how to do it ?
    how to control emotions against any political person ,who is white laying in front of u ?
    Kashif is comparatively new and he is very enthusiastic about telling truth on the face....
    he need some time to control his truthfulness .

    2...Talat has very strong connections with military as well as bureaucracy set up...that's why he goes where nobody goes to cover the story.
    first to go to SWAT during operation
    first to go to Waziristan
    first to sit in the F16 given by US to Pakistan ...
    etc.
    so he can afford being Bold .

    3.Talat is Executive Director of Aaj...in his strong position he has a capacity to say whatever he wants ...
    that capacity Kashif doesn't have .
    so Talat can afford being Bold.

    long and short ...everybody has his/her own definition of BOLD ....
    ask Talat Hussian ...ask Hamid Mir ...ask Kashif Abbasi...

    and ask REEMA ....she will tell u a different meanings of being BOLD .

    Plus Talat has experienced what Kashif is experiencing now! Talat's many programs received restrictions/censors and had been on & off air.

    Kashif is young and will learn how to maintain balance in business line & professional line.

    Unfortunately TV channels are business oriented, not truth or social service oriented. So unless Kashif is a senior executive with a lot of connections that satisfies owners, or he will get out.

    Talat did display his strong connections with army through many interviews with generals and by going to areas where only very few civilians were authorized to go!

    Mystery is abound the way media talk shows are wasting time, and sidelining the real issues. Such as the ever increasing American influence and existence inside Pakistan. These talk shows have never been conclusive. Why media is not highlighting the issue of a Pakistani policeman manhandled by the Americans? The circulation of Baluchistani passports in Baluchistan? Who owns flour, edible oil and sugar mills, comodoties often subsidized by the government itself? How many of the MPAs, MNAs are themselves owners of sugar, flour and oil mill/factories? I think media performs better when it is, sort of suffocated, kept under pressure. Freedom suits media is not what free media has shown uptill now....as all what they have done is to sell themselves out to the power elite!
    The missing journalist issue seems more like a journalist who attempted to rebel against the sold out media giants.

    If any anchor is "badtameez" it is mubashir luqman and then jasmeen manzoor. But of course they are always loyal to whoever is in power so no one complains about their "badtameezi".

    u r very right.
    Kashif was banned two times before this also.
    in Mush era and then in the near past...
    when he did a tough interview of then Governer Punjab,Salman Taseer ....Salman asked him to edit the interview .
    Kashif refused ...salman called his bosses.
    Kashif bosses agreed to edit the show when it went on air ,it was an edited version.
    but Kashif put his foot down and in protest left the show.

    but because ARY is a money minded ,smuggler owner media house ,they brought kashif back...
    as Kashif show was the most popular amongst all ARY news show ...or may i say only popular show of ARY News .
    they wont let Kashif show revenue go away.
    so Kashif was back
    and started covering Bouner and Swat and did a very crucial interview of Taliban leaders .

    but when he was back to studio ...
    he did a show with Madam Fouzia ...who was speechless at every of Kashif questions.
    so she has to complain about the Badtameezi of Kashif to Zardari and Zardari being friend of ARY owners ,pressurized the owners to get rid off Kashif.

    so poor Kashif is off air now.
    and none of his colleagues except two are making any effort to protest or making him to join any other channel.

    rebellious has to face difficulties .
    so does Kashif is facing.
