The News reports 450 Billion Rupees housing scam by Housing Minister of Musharraf regime. Syed Safwanullah of MQM has reportedly sold 3,281 government owned properties in Karachi worth 450 Billion rupees without any approval, which is the biggest scam in the real estate history of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Gillani has cancelled the illegal allotment of all these properties on inquiry by estate officer Sher Afzal Khan, who investigated in Karachi despite serious threats to his life.

Few days back speaking to general workers convention at 90, Altaf Hussain said MQM doesn’t take a second to kick workers out on corruption charges. Indeed it was a good show for the cameras but the harsh reality on the ground is quite contrary. Many of you have seen these clips on TV recently but such stories are just formalities. Since poor chaps like WK cannot go beyond or take on BIG GUNS but at his place its a drop in ocean. THE NEWS makes a stunning disclosure yesterday about the biggest scam in the real estate history of Pakistan and which should have been all over NEWS papers today but since the GUN rules in KHI, publishing this story itself was a big deal for THE NEWS. Rauf Klasra has done a stunning job indeed.

Why didn't other parties, talk show hosts, other repectable news writers, radio shows pick this up. RS. 450 Billion is a huge amount...I would expect national tv and private tv shows to be talking abt this..Can you show me any tv show where this has been discussed?

Like the province known for having a prostitution centre and haven next to a Masjid claims be very transparent and ethical how ironic.

Because rauf klasa has had a long history of anti-mqm behavior...All i am asking is where is rauf's evidence..From where did he discover all this?

My sources of evidence was of people actually comitting the crime..its not some opinionated write up....You have video's and documents showing how PMLN stole electricity....You have an account witness of rape victim...You have a polic witness of PMLN barbaric acts..

That is why u need to accept my evidence and provide source of rauf's write up...He must have discovered from somewhere...I mean i am sure angel didn't tell him right?

MQM is much more corrupt than any other party in Pakistan. They support all illegal dictators and Zardaris and bring them to power.

I am not doubting that it appeared in newspaper..I am doubting the column's authenticity because he hasnt provided his source of knowledge.

Do you know the basic fact that journalist never tells his source of information. But if his source of info is baseless, then he is always ready to be sued in court. Since MQM did not challenge "The News", this means they accepted the news.

Now I will try to act like freeman1. I don't trust the YouTube videos. I need to see original videos only.

Know about those stuff of journalism but at least their should be document of stay order to prove this because I dont think that their could be any land that big (Except in DHA) which could be worth 450 Billion...

If MQM is so interested in Corruption then just like other parties MQM leaders would have been also living a lavish life but instead we have a Mayor who was living in a rented house while being Mayor of Karachi and what he got in the end was a house gifted to him so you can guess how much corruption MQM had done because when someone from middle class is involve in corruption even a kid can guess as what he is up to as a erson driving Mehran start all of a sudden start driving Honda Civic's latest model since becoming a minster...

BTW, Rauf Klasra is yellow, but same is reported by Ansar Abbasi whose link I have shared above.

Now please try to find something against Ansar Abbasi too since MQM is party of angels.

It is already proven that MQM is the biggest criminal with respect to constitution of Pakistan and should be tried under high treason act. This has nothing to do with their simple life style.

Even murderers may live in simple life style, but it does not mean they are innocent.

uth oyay, Rauf Klasra just won a case against PPP regarding Gas contract given to a french company who didn't even was included in the auction (worh 6 billion dollar = 5.5 kharab rupees). I think rauf is an honest reporter and will not be back away from any charges he alleged. This case was reported on 2008 by rauf, if the case was genuine , then why there was no action taken(arrest or MQM bashing all over the country), or is it any action taken?. If you have any news regarding the action taken against MQM minister, please post. Did MQM took any action agains its minister?.

Hahahaha. You are more funny that I thought! I told you that you will also find something against Ansar Abbasi and the only reason you found that was because he wrote against MQM, not PMLN.

I request admin to do a poll today and will you will see that Ansar Abbasi gets more than 90% votes as he is the best investigative journalist in Pakistan without any doubt.

1) This news was published ON 5th of May 2008 and NOT on 30th April 2010, contrary to the impression you are trying to give. This news is no bombshell afterall.
2) The certificates were issued during the time of Shaukat Aziz, he wanted to redevelop those area. He was of the view that the recommendation would give the present occupants shelter in the redeveloped structures. Gilani dissaproved of these certificates and the procedure, and so cancelled them.
3) Those articles u posted had been written to project a very 'sensationalized' event, other media, specially electronic did not take this event like that.
4) An evidence for all those points is in the fact that this story never got big. We are talking about RS. 450bn, thats almost as big as the Pakistan's Development budget! If it was as you describe it then it would have been unrivalled scandal all over the media, giving ample opportunity to opposition parties to criticize MQM, which was not the case, therefore providing support for what I siad.
