The sad and tragic incident of target killing of one of MQM's prominent leader and member Sindh Assembly Syed Raza Haider has not only disturbed the law and order situation in Karachi and other big cities on Sindh, but also has endorsed MQM's opinion and demand of Free Judicial Inquiry and Massive Operation against the Guilty of all the incidents of target killings, which mostly being carried out by Land Mafia, Drugs Mafia, Transport Mafia and Arson Mafia under the shelter of some so-called political and religious parties in the biggest city of Pakistan!
The incident happened in the afternoon today when Syed Raza Haider was attending a funeral in Nazimabad No.2 Karachi. 2 Armed Terrorists killed his Guard and entered the Jamia Mosque where Raza Haider was performing abolution. He received 6 bullets in the body, for which he could not survive. Syed Raza Haider was born on 15 October 1959 and elected member of Sindh Assembly from PS-94, Orangi Town and was associated with MQM for last 26 years. He completed B.A. from University of Karachi. He was married with 2 kids. He was the member of several committees of Sindh Assembly and was famous of his Social Works, especially for his work for the victims of Azad Kashmir Earth Quack, which he carried out day and night.
MQM leaders Waseem Aftab and Faisal Sabzwari has blamed ANP Leader Shahi Syed for the target killing and referred his speech of 24th July wherein he not only threatened MQM but also warned of ultimate consequences. Federal Minister Rehman Malik has urged MQM to be patient and promised to sack the culprits within 24 hours. Banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi would be behind this attack as Raza Haider was on their hit list as he was vocal against Land Mafia and Drugs Mafia. Taliban had also threatened MQM top leadership due to its unique stance on Taliban and Terrorism, Malik Added! It is also to be noted, Raza Haider was not only against Religious Extremism but also he was famous of his work to bring Sectarian Harmony among the people!
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has shown deep grief and has announced 3 days mourning. In the meanwhile un-identified protestor has set dozen of vehicles, shops and patrol pumps on fire, 33 people have been killed and law enforcement agencies are disappeared.
ANP Sindh Leadership has stated that if culprit’s names with proofs of Target Killings provided, ANP would through them out of their party, but when people identified the killers of 2 MQM workers in Gulistan-e-Jouhar as ANP workers and forwarded their names with proofs, the reaction and attitude of ANP leadership was contrast to their earlier statements. This was on July 24th, when two workers of MQM were gun downed by some ANP workers who attacked a Unit Office of MQM, the total number of MQM workers assassinated in target killings now reached to 160 in a few months. Will any Government Official bother to look into the reason and real culprits behind these terror incidents, for them the blood of people is so cheap they don't even want to admit the worsening Law and Order Situation in Karachi. Karachi which is the business hub and Revenue Generating Machine of our Economy has left totally on Mafias, and its people are made helpless. Elected Representatives were being ignored in all decision making processes, and now this is another extreme that the same representatives are being assassinated and Law Enforcement Agencies are nowhere!
Till date MQM proved its mature and cooperative attitude towards its alleys in Sindh Government, irony is how long it would tolerate immature and careless attitude of others. Will the people of Sindh especially Karachi accept this trend that people even elected representatives are being killed and no one is safe? When people concerned will admit the Huge Mandate of MQM and learn to live peacefully?
Syed Raza Haider's assassination is another big question mark on the progress of Law Enforcement Agencies and Challenge for the Govt. This type of incident wherein Public Representatives of Huge Mandate are assassinated determines new dimensions in the policies and change future trends in so many things. Hope leadership of MQM once again prove its maturity by patient and mature decisions!
