    i am a karachite and u all no how die hard a supporter of pti i am... i am also a maohajir but i accept that mustafa kamal has done a lot of khi and pti appreacaiets him for that

    Wow, let me take u out of ur reverie. No doubt, u r referring to the infamous http://www.eiu.com/site_info.asp?info_name=The_Global_Liveability_Report&page=noads&rf=0 EIU "research" piece:

    1) ONLY top 140 cities of the world were surveyed, not EVERY city of the world. There are 192 UN-registered countries alone. So ur statement "one of the worst cities in the world to live in" does not hold as not all of the cities of the world were surveyed, therefore an opinion about the "worst cities in the world" cannot possible be made.
    2) Karachi is the ONLY city of Pakistan they even saw worthy enough or cosmopolitan enough to survey - and yes they did not even bother investigating Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Pindi, Faislabad etc. So at least Karachi is significant enough to be included in the survey unlike ANY OTHER city of Pakistan.
    3) If you actually bothered to read the report, the ranking was based on the following things:
    3.i) Stability - political and economical - Karachi suffers from the shortcomings of stability in Pakistan. We are proudly the farmer of world terrorism, and therefore as a nation, rank very low on this.
    3.ii) Healthcare - once again the shortcomings of the gov. of Pakistan, prevalent all over Pakistan.
    3.iii) Culture and environment. (and corruption) - Much work has been done by Mustafa Kamal on this - including various parks (e.g. Bagh ibn Qasim, Safari Park, 1.2 million trees planted, KCL t20, Food street, etc.).
    3.iv) Education - once again the shortcomings of the gov. of Pakistan, also prevalent all over Pakistan.
    3.v) Infrastructure - once again a lot of work has been done on this front by Mustafa Kamal, including Signal Free Corridors 1,2,3 and 4 in progress. No one can dispute about the amount of work done on this front.

    So 3/5 categories, the city of Karachi has no control as they are inherent problems with Pakistan and these shortcomings are applicable to any other part of Pakistan. So the ranking of Khi is unsurprising when u take into account the ranking criteria. The other 2 categories where admins of Karachi and ppl of Karachi actually have a say in are improving rapidly. Of course 60 years of neglect cannot be countered by 4 years of good work by Mustafa Kamal - a lot of work still needs to be done, but we are getting there quickly, and unsurprisingly the world at large has enough intellectual honesty (though u may not) that it is rewarding MK for his good work :)

    Your analysis is worth reading and understanding is required about Karachi before understanding your analysis...most of the problem that we are facing in Karachi is inherited due to being neglected for 40 years(Ayub's period) when capital was shifted to Islamabad and from then onward this city saw little or no development in the city due to Govt. start spending their funds on GHQ of Pakistan army despite of being economic engine of Pakistan then the situation got worse in 1990s when Karachi went through violence and at that time only province that saw some development was Punjab as their first ever motor way was built during NS second tenure but Karachi was completely neglected as we saw no development in the city then come Musharraf where we saw all this work done so we cant compare 40 years with 8 years that saw Karachi being treated fairly so this ranking has indicating those negligence of Karachi for 40 years...

    MK has done his best in the development of city and this is the proof that he was declared YGL along with 4 other Pakistanis...

    MQM has shown they can swing either side of the string with equal accomplishment. Decide whether you want to confront MQM on positive attitude or else they are as capable on negative outlook.

    It's fair game, you set the rules, MQM plays according to rules set by majority ethinicities of parliament or the unequivocal establishment. But don't cry when you start losing on your own board. You categorically leave out urban Karachi from quota system, no problem. But when you come to do business in Karachi from rest of the Pakistan, you will be charged dearly one way or another (bhatta, bori or commercial random) for that votes that the representatives of Pakistani people cast to marginalize them Mohajirs.

    This man MK has great future ahead of him and I think he is only 39 years old and can oofer alot to his country. We need a leader like him who has Can-Do attitude to solve our day-to-day problems like inflation, unemployment, religious extremism and terrorism.
    I wish him all the best for his future.

    jo hum se tameez se baat karaty tum?

    lagta hai app nay MK ki baat dil pay lay li hai chalo aisa hi sahi ab app rotay rahoo pora Karachi MK ko SALAM kar raha hai shayad saray k saray pagal ain aur dosray shehar k log keh rahay hain k MK ko hamaray pass bhej do kuch dinnoon k liye hum wapas kar daingay shayad woh bhi pagal hain aur sirf aik hi noral banda hai yahan aur woh hain app...

    Yar I think in normal in course of Life we praise poeple for their good deeds and condem them for their wrong doing.This is an unbaised and healthy thing.MK did a lot of good work and you can see that.On the other hand being a politicle affiliated person he too hand his shortcomming lke any other leader.A lot of people don't like Shahbaz shareef but he did a lot for his city and his proviance.Bhutto is another example.He has alot on his credit both negative and positive.

    I like MK when I see him working for the development of his city but I don't like him when he says "Ullo ka patha"

    well every1 shud appreacaite mustafa for the gud things he has dun ... putting my support of the pti aside for a second as a karachite and moreover as a PAKISTANI.. i congargulate the mqm and mustafa for the gud work he has done for my city....
    and i request u all to think of ur country be4 ur city and act accordingly and plz refrain from passing racail comments

    sirf iss liye kay noble kaam nahin,US ka kaam karany pe award aur title miltay hain third world kay logon ko .

    @aftab...as far i am concerned MQM could be aliens from outer space but as long as they live in peace i will be more then happy if they setup camp in Rawalpindi and improve the traffic situation.

    to baat ghoom phir kar apnay shehar par he aa gaee na.???pindi k traffic theek kar day MK to accepted ....karachi ke traffic theek kar day ( its been done to an extent)..to MK unaccepted...!!...!! :)
