@ rasheed
How long can Zardari be out of the country and still be President?
Constitutionally it would be the Senate Chairman who will be the next President if Zardari is unable to perform his duties as President.
Faryal Talpur.
And what is her qualification besides being Zardari's sister?
i agree with sid73 ...it might be FT .... and the military establishment is not averse to that option too ...personally i feel someone with a bit more personality acumen and charisma shoudl be on that position...
hopefully matters dont come to that stage and AAZ and the current assemblies complete their terms...but in such an eventaulity. ...some one like Aitzaz ahsan would make a good president...someone who will have have the respect of all..and the next general elections under him might be acceptable to the stakeholders
Mr. Double Surname may be a candidate for presidency. Since he uses two surnames, so he may posses the qualities of both sides.
Aitzaz Ahsan would be a good option after Zardari's exit but I dont think Aitzaz is in the good books of Zardari.
He's ineligible due to his age.
I think all possible efforts will be made to appoint Mr. Two Surnames as the next president. They waived the condition of graduation to make Zardari the president.
@Sulaiman,
Almost exactly the same kind of qualification Zardari has....zilch!
Mrs. Sherry Rehman, was in the same boat...an ideological PPP stalwart, who criticised PPP and its policies with grace and at proper forums...instead of venting it in the media...and i think that won her admiration from Presidency and the top slot in Washington ... i think Aitzaz Ahsan has been graceful in his opposition to some of the PPP policies...he is a true leader with ethics brain not just a psysophant ...he will make a good president the the goodwill he enjoys would help revive PPP in Urban Punjab
HF,
They will have to amend the constitution in order to that and mind you they dont have a 2/3 majority.
SD
Thanks for an input of information. How old one has to be to become the president?
I think 40 or 45 but i'm not sure about the exact age.
hussain farooqui
I suggest your name...
but he is just a teenybopper :)
Thanks Oblivion! I would then like to make you my PM.. Surely, you will not become a useless PM like YRG.
Keeping in view the tradition of the party of womanisers, first consideration of Zardari will be to fill the vacancy by any female, who must be a Sindhi. Punjabi females like, Ashiq Awan and Mehreen Raja stand no chance leaving Feryal the only and ideal choice. He can even make some changes by promoting F. Mirza to the position of President and then appoint his sister as Speaker of the House.
After this the PPP philanderers will be left with one more move to bring in Ms F N Haqani in place of Ghillani to achieve a unique status in the world. Then we will be able to boast that we are the only country ruled exclusively by Sindhi women. Surely, nobody will then anymore consider us backward.
Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox,
whose philosopher is a juggler,
and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking.
Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting,
and farewells him with hooting,
only to welcome another with trumpeting again.
ahhhh........the history will repeat itself for the worse if we dont get our act together
@ jablaltariq
very well said ... so true
@saleem bajwa...
no sense at all in ur argument...better luck next time ...
Zardari will be president till 2013. He will never resign and should not resign.
I never like that he is president of Pakistan. It is disgrace for Pakistan. But he is constitutionally elected president of Pakistan and he must complete his term. Judiciary, establishment and opposition must accept this fact, and stop bullshits.
بے غیرتوں کی دوڑ میں جو سب سے آگے ہوگا - وہی صدر پاکستان بننے کا اہل ہوگا
میرا خیال ہے اس دوڑ میں زرداری کا کوئی ثانی نہیں ہے
:)
sir with due respect - its the qaum which has gone bay ghairat , last time they (actually only punjab) woke up was agaisnt ZAB , and then Zia took the air out of that baloon as well.....lawyers had shown ghairat lately...and look how it helped stem the rot to a degree............
Zardari must be given the full remaining tenure,otherwise, he will have excuses for his poor performance. Full tenure rule will not let him have any lame excuses for the poor performance.
If there is a way out to remove him legally and constituionally then he must be but I agree that any un-constitutional means will just give piplyas yet another shaheed to worship and befool the public for the next term.
Dar Saheb
It is now a matter of just one year to tolerate the rule of Zardari. On the completion of his government's tenure, let him prove success or failure. His earlier termination will provide him opportunities to gain public sympathy. Let us give him a fair chance.
Sure he must be given a chance to complete his term but what if he's unable to perform the duties he's contitutionally required to?
BTW i'm in favor of him complteing his 5 years and then booted out of office by the public based on his performance.
Unless the Military say otherwise, there's no point in removing him, because the 18th amendment made the party heads more powerful then the President.
Rasheed;
Here is a startling suggestion;
I would replace him with no one.
'No one' will be able to do the job as well as Zardari if the job is to look after the country's interest.
The suggestion that Zardari has been working for Pakistan is quite simply ludicrous. A man who does not even want to be treated by the doctors of his country cannot seriously be thinking of Pakistan.
The first heaviest damaging step of Zardari's govt. was to crush the business of Pakistan. The three prominent business tycoons namely Mian Mansha, Aqeel Karim Dhedi and Khanani & Khalia were reported to be demanded donations in the range of 1-2 billion rupees. Mian Mansha rescued himself with the help of Nawaz Shariff, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi settled the amount to about 15-18 crores with the help of Altaf Hussain. Khanani and Khalia tried to resist the demand of donation. The result was the humiliated closure of their business.
The humiliation of Khanani and Khalia resulted into an irreparable damage to business. They were the office bearers of Memon community. The Memon community then withdrew heavy amounts of capital from the local business and then transferred to foreign countries.
funny but true ! Zardari is much better then , all these 5 .
The Mr Two Surnames like someone said here....
