Mr. Semirza should not be criticized for sharing an article from a different author.
Better to discuss the Author who originated something not of my choice.
About having a feeling of tolerance about various social, cultural and local festivities, I support your point of view.
Some of such activities help to boost economy and provide jobs to millions of people.
Not me, my parents were Wahabis and belonged to Devbandi School of Thought, but were convinced to appreciate how Shrines of Data Ganj Bakksh, Nizamud Din Ollya, Hazrat Chishti Ajmeri, Mela Chiraghan and other URS celebrations were providing jobs and business opportunities to millions of people.
