Since the govt has failed to indemnify NRO from the parliament and the SC deadline is fast approaching (Nov 28th), what will be the fate of those who benefitted from this Ordinance?

I assume they'll be subject to prosecution/arrest? President might be spared due to immunity.

    What are different scanarios?

  2. No. They all will not face any arrest or accountability.

Look into our history, corrupt influencial people are never punished.

This time, same , no punishment, all these bloody corrupt people are influencial and never be punished.

  3. NRO beneficieies ....if they will get arrested than all the Govt circulars would be assuing from the jail and we might have to shift presidency in a comfortable cozy barrack of jail.

If SC could go this far, why would they hesitate to revive their cases and put them behind the bars (where they belong)?

  5. Supreme court could not arrest anyone. The decision of courts is already there. Warrants of some cabinet members are already issued and this is what judiciary could do in its capacity. Now its state machinery which has to respond to those warrants but how they could take action against themselves. Judiciary could not arrest those people and our expectations from judiciary should also be realistic.

The verdict of the judiciary would be treated like the verdict given for Sugar! The government asked the judiciary to implement the verdict itself!!!

The elites ruling Pakistan proved time and again that unkay dictionary mai sharam nam ke koi cheez nahi. This discussion itself is a shame for the ruling elite!!!

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday arrested former Inspector General of Police Punjab, Chaudhry Ameen, after the Lahore High Court rejected his bail application.

Chaudhry Ameen was charged with misappropriating around 45 million rupees. He was also accused of misuse of authority during his tenure as the Inspector General of Police.

Rawalpindi's Accountability Court reopened Chaudhry Ameen's case after the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) illegal and unconstitutional.

Ameen then filed an application with the Lahore High Court in which he sought pre-arrest bail. However, the court rejected his bail application and the former IG has now been taken into custody.
