The report says that while rich parents send their children to private schools and later abroad to college or university, a third of all Pakistanis have spent less than two years at school. 25 million children in Pakistan do not get education, a right guaranteed in the country's constitution. Three million children will never in their lives attend a lesson. There are 26 countries poorer than Pakistan who still manage to send more of their children to school.

Well Done to PPP, PMLN ANP, JUI, JUP AND MQM along with Army Mafia...
These are the hypocrite B@STARDS who have been ruling this country pretty much and are responsible for this mess.
Schooling in Pakistan should be FREE and COMPULSORY till intermediate and it should be non-bailable offense to stop a kid from going to school or a school refusing to give admission. Every Private school should send one of their teacher to a Govt School on a weekly basis to give lectures and every Govt School Teacher should rotate in a private school for that week (Probably under supervision)
The private school should be regularized and registered with one school body. There should be 3 types of school... private (Where u pay for everything) Grammar School (Where state pay 50 % of the cost and 50% is met by charities and the parents and then the Govt School (Free) The Grammar School should have an entrance exams and should work on catchment areas so every district should have at least one Grammar School. Unless we spend some effort in our kids, you won't see any progress in this country the gap between poor and rich will increase to the extreme levels.

Pakistan spends seven times more on defence than on education.

Shameless military says they will buy as many F-16s as US is willing to sell. One F-16 probably covers the education expenses of thousands of kids.
All military run/subsidized schools should be converted to govt schools and military personnel (officers) required to send thier kids to govt schools
One in ten of the world’s out-of-school children is a Pakistani. That is the equivalent of the entire population of Lahore.
There is a zero per cent chance that the government will reach the millennium development goals by 2015 on education. On the other hand, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are all on their way to achieving the same goals. India’s improvement rate is ten times that of Pakistan, Bangladesh’s is twice that of Pakistan
Pakistan spent 2.5 per cent of its budget on schooling in 2005/2006. It now spends just 1.5 per cent in the areas that need it most. That is less than the subsidies given to PIA, PEPCO and Pakistan Steel. Provinces are allocated funds for education but fail to spend the money.
Our govt is busy playing cat n mouse with SC and **** khusti with opposition.
Army is busy buying toys and plots
Awam jaey bhar mae !!

with fake degree holders sitting in our parliament, how can we expect these frauds to invest in education? they're more concerned about securing their illegal assets than governance.

Best would be if we start supporting atleast one child for school education on our own. Khadim-e-Aalaa could spent millions and billions on Danish school project but can't improve or support existing schooling infrastructure that is already in pathetic condition. Why they always need new stunts to make an impression?
