    Pakistan: The crisis of Punjab -- Guardian Editorial

    No one in Pakistan, let alone Nawaz Sharif, who hopes one day to return to national power, can tolerate a policy of accommodating jihadis, or keep them as backroom allies in the mistaken belief that this is the best way of containing them. After the last two attacks, his brother Shahbaz cannot claim to have the situation under control in the Punjab. It is not and it needs a concerted police and intelligence operation (the army, too, needs to get off the fence) against all jihadis to settle the point of who runs the country's most populous province.

    What is in this article? Nothing new, same old accusations that Shabaz Sharif and his law minister has links with terrorist organizations. So they both want Talibans to attack their own province? What a naive view.

    This all was bound to happen. We will be seeing more to come shortly. The man on Hill means business. He had two secret meetings with Chaudhris of Gujrat recently and a strategy of COUNTERING SHARIFS has been chalked out. Salman Taseer is in contact with Chaudhris on daily basis. Babar Awan is not only using his plane for visiting bar councils in Punjab but he has also distributed huge amount to criminals for making disturbances after every incidence. In the last few months MQM has infiltrated their trained terrorist in South Punjab. They smuggled huge cache of arms and ammunitions during their so-called rallies in Punjab. More to come shortly.

    @twin_cities,

    "So they both want Talibans to attack their own province? What a naive view."

    When MQM say why would we want to attack Karachi, which is our base, you do not interpret that as "naive view" yet you ask "why would PMLN attack their own privince" and are prepared that label that as a naive view. Fine example of double-standards.

    "In the last few months MQM has infiltrated their trained terrorist in South Punjab. They smuggled huge cache of arms and ammunitions during their so-called rallies in Punjab. More to come shortly."

    So MQM is behind the attacks in Punjab now? You do not think its the religous extremist behind this? hahaha. So what about the attacks in punjab when MQM was not even in Punjab? What about the attack on GHQ, sri lankan team, parade lane etc.? As for rallies, which rally are you talking about? If you mean convention then the Punjab police took a search of all those entering the convension. Why did they not find anyone with the "smuggled weapons"?

    If we take a look at the attack on Data darbar then "one of the two suicide bombers who blew himself up in Data Darbar on Thursday night has been identified"..."According to police, the bomber identified as Usman son of Yaseen, is a resident of Hadyara Barki, district Lahore and carried out blast in the basement of Data Darbar."... http://geo.tv/7-2-2010/67724.htm oh dear, it looks like it was a home grown terrorist.

    You can choose to live in denial but denial will only increase the radicalism in Punjab, as we are already witnessing

    I can understand the frustration of the supporter of a terrorist organization.

    I am no supporter of Punjab govt. and in my opinion PMLN govt. has failed to deliver in the biggest province of Pakistan. I basically belong to Karachi and have seen my beloved city going down the drains by the bhatta force of a foreign citizen Altaf.

    MQM is only in Karachi they do not represent entire Sind. They always terrorize Karachi, do you remember 12 May? This is their strategy to black mail, which they always do even to their partners.

    What is happening in Punjab, I have a fair knowledge of that. It is you who is living in denial, denying that MQM is a terrorist organization and it can do anything to please RAW and their supporters abroad. Do I have to remind you what Altaf says about the creation of Pakistan?

    @twin_cities,

    As much as I enjoyed reading your post, it did not quite address the points i highlighted. Maybe you should re-read what i asked instead. The main question is: do you believe that the terrorists/taliban/al qaeeda/tpp/ssp/ (whatever u want to call them) are behind the terrorist attacks in punjab or do u simply believe that it is MQM?

    Why don't we use Pakistanis our own intellect to understand and comprehend our own internal affairs?It shows there is a complete shortage of intellect in Pakistan.
    We have failed to produce original minds,we rather have produced westernized minds.
    We need to listen our own conscious rather than reading or listening analysis from someone belonging to Guardian.

    @ LiberalKarachi

    You don't get the point brother.
    All these groups are behind unrest and terrorist activities. But from where they are getting support and arms and ammunitions? It is evident they cannot infiltrate in the society without the support of a TERRORIST outfit.
