I know there is plenty of time to go to this game. Pakistan actually plays NZ this Tuesday.

For me, Pakistan vs. Australia would be the 'real' game to watch this WorldCup.

    Several factors:

Both the teams even after so much drama, injuries and bans, still have the best bowling lineups in the world.
Australia is undefeated in the WC for 12 years!
The last time Australia lost in a worldcup game was in 1999; Guess which team beat Australia back then? You guessed it right - Pakistan!
Australia is the reigning worldcup champion. Pakistan hasnt been able to reattain the glory since 1992 when Imran Khan helped Pakistan pull it through. Will the new Khan captain guide us through!
Can we shut Ponting up once and for all? He recently said "we are not worried about the Pakistan game. We know its weaknesses".

March 19th - Australia vs. Pakistan!

I agree with Ricky Pointing. Pakistan 'd be there least worry. They just white washed us in every form and shape. When we pushed them against the wall we threw the match for $$$, Sydney test. Why they 'd be worry about us?

It's interesting you mention we beat Australia last time 12 years ago. Do you remember how they manhandled us in the WC final same year. Pakistan 133 all out and Australia chased chased in 15 or so wkts and perhaps won by 9 or 10 wickets. It was like WC final was between test team and minnow.

There is no rivalry between Pakistan and Australia, we like it or not Australia is just too good for us. Can we upset perhaps but then even BD can.

    :)

Don't make the mistake by looking too far. Let's take one game at a time. Let's focus on the next game against NZ first. I hope the PAK team doesn't make this mistake, then they might be in trouble against the fighters from NZ.

Yes but in the same WC, Australia was defeated by Pakistan in the earlier round. That was the 'last' time Australia was defeated by 'ANY' team in WCs.

I dont think we should rule Pakistan out yet! Pakistan just beat the previous WC's finalist Sri Lanka in their own homeground - a ground where the hosts had never been defeated before.

History is history. March 19th can very well not be a repeat from history even if our chances are less than 25% :)

Mike Hussey, Pak's worst nightmare, has been recalled in place of injured Bollinger. O boy...lol

I wish we had a second leg spinner - this is certainly a leg spinners world cup.

Two key weaknesses our side has that can cost us the entire match against Australia:

    1. Our openers keep failing. Today's match against NZ can be a good platform regain their forms.
    2. Our bowlers are not striking. In the 3 matches Pakistan has played, Afridi has taken 14 of the 29 wickets which is almost half the total. We really need Gul, Akhtar and the spinners to strike!

but IA we will win. Lets all pray that we prove them all wrong once again!
