This is the hypocrisy of the army that they blame the US in public and eulogize them in private.
Effectiveness or no effectiveness, the issue here is of sovereignty.
The sovereignty is being violated. I am sure india or China would rip anyone apart as they are very concerned with sovereignty
I remember an incident during 2005 earthquake when a US plane mistakenly crossed the border into india and some low rank indian official warned the US that next time any aircraft might be shot down without even a warning shot.
And who can forget the famous Hainan Island incident in 2001 when China grounded the US plane and its crew and the US had to issue a public apology.
@ zenith
Sovereignty is violated but not just by drones but also all those hard core foreigners that drones are targeting. We can't stop one w/o the other. Interestingly Army pampers jihadis and let drones loose on them. Musharaaf rushed to American demands, according to him, because India was more than willing to offer bases to US to launch attack against Afghanistan. There are sizable number of US troops in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia. Please don't give an impression Pakistan is the only country whose sovereignty is being bulldozed by US.
Sovereignty was compromised when US went in defense pacts with US in 60's, when Pakistan allowed started Jihad against Russia for US. This is just the continuation of absolute disastrous policies of security establishment that hey are pursuing since inception.
@ shirazi
I couldn't agree more. However, this is a blatant violation. We are an ally and also the most heavily bombed ally?
There is no doubt that these groups were given a free hand by the establishment; however, US is an equal partner in crime and neither the US nor our establishment is qualified to deal with this situation.
It just brings you again to the point that our establishment believes and upholds their motto " Hypocrisy shall prevail"
But the ultimate loser is unfortunately Pakistan.
@zenith
Not just US even our establishment is equal partner in crime. The violations that US is doing is with the full cooperation of our establishment. Same establishment that harbors militants on one hand and then point out their locations for drone attacks with the other. I don't know how can they sleep with burden of so many innocents on their hands. May be religion and national interests offer them enough consolation to play all these dirty games.
