ISLAMABAD: Only a day after Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry reminded the parliament of what he had said about the limits to legislative authority, a petition was filed on Saturday against the 18th Amendment, which proposed judicial appointments through a judicial commission.

  2. Good. But let's see what the self-proclaimed champions of free judiciary have to say:

    Hanif Abbasi of PML-N:
"Supreme Court ko apni hadood ka pata hona chahiyay. Jo parliament say takra-ay ga, pash, pash ho ja-ay ga."

    Fauzia Wahab of PPP:
"No one can amend the constitution except parliament"

I wish PCO Iftikhar strikes down the amendment because it will only pave the way to strike down the 17th amendment and the 8th amendment. It will also allow the Court to proceed against all those who took part in legalizing the 8th and 17th amendments and will ensure a noose around PCO Iftikhar himself.

Nothing wrong with that. Democracy...not iftikharocracy. If one person can override the whole nation then what was wrong with Musharsf?

No one is supreme than the betterment of ordinary people of Pakistan, be it Iftikhar C, Kiyani, Zardari, Bhutto, NS or any other xyz.

If Mr. I Ch thinks as he is king then his downfall (and his respect) has started.
