    PIA – PIA & RAILWAYS - RAILWAYS - WOW

People of Pakistan are upset due to inefficiency of these two MEGA DEPARTMENTS.

PIA Flights’ are delayed – PAK Railway trains departure is delayed, valued passengers are disturbed on both ends. Thousands of valued passengers of PIA are suffering on the airports of others countries. On the same time Thousands of valued passengers of PAK RAILWAYS are suffering in the Jungles far away from cities and their destinations.

Both organization are in budgetary deficit and has no proper operational infrastructure.

Corruption is on its peak in both organizations. TITANIC of both departments is sinking

Employees of both departments are disturbed, PIA employees are being killed (Target Killings are there)

Employees of both departments are disturbed because no proper “Salary Packages” have been given, but corruption is increasing on daily basis.

No body is bothering, concerned ministers are sleeping and has no idea or program to improve this situation. Ministries are the actual GOVERNMENT , if Minister and ministry is accurate, productive, conversant with their well defined job than country can show progress and can run on highway of prosperity. But here Pakistan is suffering a lot. People of Pakistan are worried about these inefficiencies and ‘LOOTMAAR’.

Will this situation continue WHY ????????? ………………. AAKER KAB TAK

We spend about more than a billion rupees only on construction of over head bridges on railway tracks and maintain those. It is beyond thinking to the value of Railway assets and a group of less than a hundred honest people can make it profitable in a year. It can help to reduce the price of everything upto 10 %.
    Who will do this ?

Truly stated that most of us are more interested in mud slinging games of politicians rather than very serous national issues.

ZM benefited the PPP govt. by diverting the public attention from real issues to mud slinging games.

The beneficiaries of Railway collapse are Bilour himself and his political colleagues. He and his political colleagues are big road transporters, They are boosting their business of road transport by causing intolerable inconvenience to the railway passengers.

You make a good point about 100 honest people at the top making PIA profitable in a very short time. Unfortunately I am not sure if 100 honest people can be found under the current highly neoptistic set up.

Here is my difficulty with PIA; I do not know of any major or minor European airline (with the exception perhaps of KLM?) flies into Islamabad eg BA, Air France, etc. The reasons they cite for not flying to Islamabad are security and the sorry and inadequate state of the airport. PIA therefore has complete monopoly on some of the most lucrative routes to Europe; and here comes the inexplicable conundrum; Why the hell is it still not profitable? They charge stupid amounts of money as they know there is no other direct way to fly into Islamabad, the spend nothing on food, their airport services are a joke and yet they can't make enough money. God forbid if PIA had to compete in a country with open skies, it would go bankrupt in hours. PIA is a bleeding 'nasoor' on Pakistan's finances. The sooner we sell it off the better it would be. Do you ever wonder why the new Islamabad Airport is still a distant dream? Do you have a theory about it? I would like to hear it.

PIA must reform or it must be made to compete in an open market. Open competition on the Islamabad route will benefit Pakistan tremendously.

The corrupt administration has been successful in causing heavy public disliking about the railways. As per the outcome of the plot of the road transport mafia, large no. of train passengers have started travelling by buses.

Benefit of making Kala Bagh Dam
    • We believe that Kalabagh Dam is necessary to fulfill national need for more water to keep up with the growing population and industrial demands on agriculture.
    • Kalabagh Dam would also supply cheap hydro-electric power ( Rs 3.00 per unit approx.) to the whole country.
    • The annual outflow of water into the Arabian Sea can be used to irrigate infertile lands in southern areas of Punjab and northern areas of Sindh.
    • For the prosparity of country besides Kalabagh Dam, two more large dams on the Indus, at Bhasha and Skardu/Katzarah in northern areas of Pakistan should be buitd.
    • Kalabagh site is the most favourable, compared to the other two, as unlike other two projects Kalabagh project include construction of several irrigation canals to fulfill the growing demand for agriculture in Pakistan, and that it should be built first.
    • Southern Punjab (punjabi but called Seriaki areas) Bahalwalpur and Bahawalnagar will get most of the water stored in Kalabagh Dam.
    • In the early 1960s, Pakistan had agreed to a deal with India over the royalty of rivers.
    • That had given royalty of two rivers Satlej and Biyas to India. Since then, the river Ravi, Satlej and Biyas are only used as flood release rivers by India.
    • Pakistan government was allowed and funded to build this dam only because they had agreed such deal with India.
    • Now Pakistan hasn't built the dam and has also barren-ed a large area of Punjab province by taking out three rivers
    • The Kala Dam of above 3,000 MW production can finish all the energy crisis of Pakistan.
    • Overall, it will help Pakistan to grow further as electricity produced by water is cheapest compared to all other resources.
    • Punjab has also agreed not to claim any royalty on generation of resources from Kalabagh dam.
Make the country Rich and peaceful.

A loan of 5 billions is to sanctioned to Pakistan Railway. Much heavier amounts are being invested or spent on unproductive things. For such an important institution like PR, only 5 billion rupees are being sanctioned as a loan.

He is experiencing with post-menopusal issues like his comrade ZM:) Besides he must have his own trucking business needs flourishing, if Railways closes he will be crowned. The other business is his land-grabbing that he tried to do on Railway lands in Peshawar but was unsuccessful. Poor sob has only done his intermediate where they forcibly married him and didn't let him escape as per the tradition:)

Bilour seems to be playing very deeply rooted dramas. He sometimes begins to cry in press conference like an innocent man being teased. Surely, he can't be such an innocent man. He runs a big business of transport. Transport business in Pakistan is no business of gentlemen. It is mostly a business of smugglers, criminals and policemen.

I m just amazed at the ignorance of our people .

Here everybody criticizing Mr.Bilour. Oook , fine but can anybody tell me when was the last time when Railways made a profit ?

Railways has been in losses for last 3 decades and we readily fix the responsiblity to Mr.Bilour who is in office for last 3/4 years. He has been yelling for injection of money required but has not been done. Then how come he run the institution ? In this frustation he said that if u have to run the railawys , do it properly otherwise shut it down and our mirch masla media reports that railway minister suggests shutting down railway. Absolute none sense.

The problem in our country is that the things go badly wrong, but nobody stands responsible even for the biggest disasters of the Pakistani history. Nobody is reckoned responsible even for the tragedy of 1971 division of Pakistan.

Every new govt. attributes its failures to the previous government.

What will be the outcome of nobody taking the responsibility of disasters?

You can't blame single person for that disaster -- I mean who would you expect to stand responsible -- In you views who is responsible?

No culprits of any big disasters were ever identified and punished by any system. The tragedy of 1971 is the biggest example. Army generals hurl the responsibility over politicians and the politicians do likewise. No culprits of the either class were identified or punished.

Taking the advantage of the same tradition, Bilour or his predecessors will not stand responsible for anything.

Privatisation can save PIA ,root cause of this situation can b catogrised as 1.inefficent management(pilots should only b deputed on flying duties no one will sit on ground. 2.all staff recruited in this regime should b re interviewed. 3 no unions.
4 all passenger handlers should go through tough customer relations qualifing courses. 5 handsome salaries to b paid.
6 all staff to be retained on performance basis
