Yesterday, the Pakistani cricket team did what no political leader after the Quaid has been able to do till today. They united the nation. Ofcourse we have won a world title in 1992 but our nation wasn't in such dire straits nor was it so divided back then. Yes we are the World Champions. Its a clear message sent out to all those who hate Pakistan and Pakistanis. It is an obvious fact that the Extremists were scared of cricket and thats the reason they attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team at Liberty Chowk. The extremists wanted Pakistani cricket to die. Many predicted it might actually die as no international events will be happening in Pakistan and the rights of hosting the next ODI Worldcup have been stripped off from Pakistan. But our team did the unthinkable and the unbelievable. They beat the unbeaten South Africa to get into the final. Imran Khan stated that Pakistan will have better chances if they play the West Indies in the final. Javed Miandad predicted that Pakistan will have a better chance if they bat first in the final. Both Imran and Javed were proven wrong. We played the undefeated SriLanka in the final. We lost the toss and bowled first. We played better cricket. We emerged victorious.
A country where women obviously do not possess the same rights as men, where the religious authorities constantly want music and cinemas to be eradicated, where entertainment and pleasure are words associated with Westerners, where a girl wearing jeans is considered "too modern", where all the unrest is instantly blamed on India or USA, where people daily suffer from inflation, corruption, political and military dictatorship, powercrises, watershortages, pollution and terrorism, where the president is Asif Ali Zardari, a secular sport has united the entire nation atleast for one day. It feels great and my heartiest congratulations to all PKPOLITICS forum members.

MembersSecularity is defined as something "that is seperate from religion". The extremist forces in Pakistan found this "secular sport" threatening and that is why they attacked the Lankan team.
All sports are secular.. but cricket is famous in Pakistan and that is why I mentioned cricket in my post (and not to mention the very recent attacks on SriLankan team). I apologize if my post offended you in any way though however i feel i didnt write anything offensive in it.
Anyhow, I congratulate all Pakistanis on the great win!

It wasn't anyone's religion's win nor was it anyone's political party's. The Shias, sunnis, Ahmedis, Wahabis, Christians and Hindus of Pakistan, all have equal right on this beautiful country which was made for peace-loving and tolerable people.
