Attempts are being made again to encroach and dispose off 50 to 80 acres of KPT land besides boat basin on Mai Kolachi road . Those involved in this crime are directly connected to PPP leadership in Islamabad and they had planned to get illegal encroachment regularized by disgraced Dogar's court. Chief minister sindh's advisor sent his private army to conquer the land,KPT officials unsuccessfully tried to get the land vacated from armed men and when they failed they contacted the media to highlight the issue. During the whole episode to create diversion another ppp bigshot(ex provincial assembly candidate) showed up at the scene and raised hue and cry, preposterous claiming that it was his home and no one can enter the area; otherwise, he would order his guards to open fire.
LOL The land besides boat basin has been a swamp all these years and no 'homes' were built in that area.
Interestingly on that day media called up MQM’s port and shipping minister Baber Ghauri to get his version on this issue. Ghauri said that he had called up karachi police chief to sought his help to get the plot vacated from armed illegal encroachers but CCPO was reluctant to help and advised the minister that he should stay out of this as the illegal encroachers had the backing from high ups in Sindh Government and Islamabad and he(CCPO) was totally helpless to do anything about it.
Ironically Baber Ghauri’s own party MQM Altaf’s gun touting sector and unit terrorists themselves have been involved in illegally encroaching millions of yards of public parks playground and amenity plots all across karachi and illegally constructing ’shaheed housing schemes’ for the families of notorious MQMized criminals like Farooq Dada,Rehan kana etc who had been involved in heinous and hair raising crimes during the 90s.
