PPP-PMLQ alliance: MQM starts feeling the heat: Resorts to violence in Karachi

After PPP-Q league alliance, hypocrite power hungry MQMized opportunists have literally become redundant so in order to make their presence felt and blackmail the govt , they have once again resorted to violence in Karachi..

Yesterday(30 april) there was strike all across sindh againt MQM Altaf's rigging of census. Besides the Sindhi nationalist parties,ANP,PML N,Sunni Tehreek and PTI also supported the strike call..

Almost 200 + people(average 7 per day) had been dying in Karachi since last month and no one was bothered to take notice. In the name of reconciliation all of them pretended that nothing was happening in Karachi. Stupid CM sindh gave a preposterous statement that in a metropolis like Karachi with almost 20 million residents 8-10 killings per day is a quite normal thing and shouldn't be a cause of concern..

Day before yesterday (29april) one of MQM's primary character involved in 9th april tahir plaza arson attack was gunned down in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Now today (1st may) MQM has called for 'peaceful mourning day'(strike) in Karachi and rest of sindh against that killing(so far several people have been gunned down in different areas, almost a dozen public transport vehicles have been torched) .

MQM's farooq sattar yesterday said that MQM would be free to chalk out its future strategy (Last ditch blackmailing attempt- obviously after Q-PPP alliance they've become redundant so they are no more in a good position to blackmail govt,so they've adopted violent tactics to make themselves heard )

Though today was 1st May (labour day) but many factories opted to remain open on insistence of their labourers because due to so many unannounced strikes/closures these poor labourers were already suffering coz of rising inflation and were not able to make enough to make their ends meet,so many even opted to work today as well despite it being sunday and a public holiday. MQMized governor on the other hand to make his party's strike successful asked industrialists to keep their industries closed "so that uninterrupted power supply to consumers" could be made possible..

  3. MQM strike was against the Target Killing of their MPA who happens to be an ELECTED MEMBER in Sindh Assembly....I dont see any reason of Black Mailing in all that.....Anyways Sunday is a Holiday and almost all Markets and Offices are Closed in karachi so its like the same Old School stuff here that JI and JUI use to do back in Musharraf's period where they use to Call for Strike on Friday and most people who usually Shut Down their Business for Friday Prayers and they use to pose this like their Strike call was a Success in front of Media....Today same thing was observed on MQM's behalf as well but the Differences was Transport services were also Closed down which doesnt usually happens in many Strike Calls in Karachi......

Hahaha seriously are you trying to imply that this criminal terror gang have become so sensitive to miseries and sufferings of Karachiites that from now onwards they would only be striking on public holiday rather then a working day? Definitely not!

Actually reason was that yesterday like i mentioned there was already an strike going on all across sindh and that too specifically against MQM,so naturally it didn't made sense and would have been hilarious if they too had striked against themselves along with other parties yesterday(saturday-30april) against the killing of their man's which happened on Friday night(29-april).
Otherwise as we all know this MQMized criminal gang wrecks and tears apart Karachi within minutes of any such unfortunate incident..

Fish can't survive without water, similarly Mqm can’t survive without being in govt. How come they could carry on the bhatta, killings, badmaashi acts without powers of govt.

Violence continued even today while MQM's delegation met president and haggling continued while MQMized goons kept holding Karachi on gunpoint to get a better deal.

.. on Monday that left four more people dead, nearly a dozen others wounded, around 25 vehicles torched and a private bank branch partially damaged, police and witnesses said.

The sudden and intense assaults, which were first reported in the east zone of the police organisational structure, gradually engulfed all major neighbourhoods, including residential and commercial areas, amid frequent incidents of firing and arson.

.. armed men riding a motorbike in the same area intercepted a truck (RIH-7793) loaded with construction material and gunned down its driver and his helper.

“The victims were identified as the 40-year-old driver, Mohammad Mir Hazara, and 35-year-old cleaner, Abdul Razzaq. Both were also paternal cousins,” said an official at the Awami Colony police station. The killings were carried out near Korangi Dar-ul-Uloom.

Amid intense firing, an unidentified youngster was found shot dead near Kamal Petrol Pump in Pak Colony. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, the area police said.

Same was the fate of a young man who was targeted by armed men riding a motorbike on Tariq Road. “The incident was witnessed near Edhi Centre on main Tariq Road. The victim was in his mid 20s and seemed to be a labourer by clothes and features. The body has been shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for want of identification,” SSP Amir Farooqi of Jamshed Town.

Figures gathered from the medico-legal sections of three major public hospitals — JPMC, Civil Hospital and the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital — indicated that at least 13 people were brought wounded to the hospitals. A couple of the victims were in their teens.

Nevertheless rampant firing was followed by arson attacks in different areas that paralysed city life. The intense firing and arson attacks on vehicles left hundreds of thousands of people stranded in traffic jams on roads.

Capital City Police Officer Saud Mirza confirmed to Dawn that some 25 vehicles were set on fire in different arson attacks though he claimed that police's timely intervention proved effective and the law-enforcers managed to arrest more than 100 suspects red-handed while they were engaged in arson and firing activities.

“We took several initiatives and managed to arrest some 103 suspects with arms and arson materials found in their possession,” the CCPO said.

He said he saw ethnic colour in the targeted attacks mainly on the buses and trucks. “We are hopeful about making more arrests as the arsonists targeted mostly minibuses and trucks owned by people from a particular ethnic background,” he said.

The police chief also said that the entire event seemed planned to trigger ethnic-based violence.

The facts gathered through the central fire station and police stations showed that three buses and a hi-roof van were torched in Landhi Town. A taxi was seen in flames near Malir 15. A minibus of route Z-18 was set on fire in Pak Colony. A private bus was set ablaze on University Road near Al-Mustafa Centre. Similarly, arsonists attacked a trailer near Al-Karam Square in Liaquatabad and a water tanker near Firdous Cinema in the same area.In Gizri area, armed men set fire to five vehicles — two cars, two buses and a minibus — within half-an-hour. In Nazimabad, a minibus of route N-4 was set ablaze near the Shamim Shaheed police post. A passenger coach was torched in Bilal Colony of New Karachi Town.

Three mini-trucks, one each in Gulshan-i-Shamim of Azizabad, at Water Pump and near Sindhi Hotel in Liaquatabad, were set on fire.

Most arson attacks were reported before the sunset, while scattered attempts were also made in the dark.

After the sunset, two more trucks were set on fire in Liaquatabad while a carpet showroom was seen in blazes in the Buffer Zone area.

A car was also set on fire on Mubarak Saeed Road in Jamshed Town in the late hours.

“A total of 44 fire tenders were used in firefighting,” said Chief Fire Officer Ehtashamuddin. “All the 20 stations in the city remained engaged in today`s operation as the incidents were reported in almost every district of the city. In most areas, we enjoyed police escort for the security purpose.”

He said a private bank branch near Lasbela was also targeted by arsonists but with the timely intervention by the area police the flames were prevented from engulfing the structure that helped firefighters to divert resources to other affected areas.

Violence erupted throughout the city as armed miscreants resorted to aerial firing and forced the closure of many shops. Fearing a further outbreak of violence, citizens left their work places and rushed for home. This caused massive traffic jams at various major arteries of the city including MA Jinnah Road and Sharea Faisal.

Armed men torched six vehicles in Korangi, Landhi and Shah Faisal Colony, two in Quaidabad, one at Urdu Science College, two in Liaquatabad, one in Saudabad as well as another in Malir, the miscreants also attacked a bus in the Garden area, injuring the driver, Aslam.

As the violence escalated, armed men attacked a truck opposite Darul Uloom Korangi and injured the driver Abdul Razzaq as well as the cleaner, Muhammad. The criminals set fire to the truck after carrying out the attack.

The police said that the incident took place within the Awami Colony police limits and that the victims suffered multiple bullet wounds. The injured were rushed to the hospital where they were both pronounced dead.

In yet another incident, a 25-year-old unidentified labourer was shot dead as he was passing through main Tariq Road. Firing continued to instill fear in the residents of Nazimabad, Liaqautabad, Sharifabad, Pak Colony and other areas. Armed men shot at a passerby named Kamran near the Noorani Masjid in Pak Colony.

The injured was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to a single bullet wound in the head.

The deceased was a resident of Walaiyatabad, Pak Colony and a supporter of a political group. A case was reported at the police station. More cases of arson were also reported in the city as miscreants torched a contract bus and a coach in Khokharapar No-2, a truck in Liaquatabad, a Mazda Coach in Landhi No-6, a coach as well as a Suzuki pick-up in Landhi and two vehicles including a Hi-ace in Pak Colony area.

According to officials, a total of 27 vehicles were torched during the period when arsonists were running rampant, this included 15 Mazda buses. Most petrol pumps and markets of the city were forced to remain closed. Since there was no public transport on the roads, locals had great difficulty reaching their homes. —SBP

Most petrol pumps and markets of the city were forced to remain closed. Since there was no public transport on the roads, locals had great difficulty reaching their homes.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Saud Mirza while talking to The News said that the law enforcers had taken serious notice of the incident and he directed the force to conduct raids to apprehend those culprits involved in the violence that gripped the city. Within an hour, the raids were carried out and more than a 100 suspects allegedly involved in the various acts of violence were rounded up. CCPO Mirza said that raids were conducted in several parts of the city including Liaquatabad, Sharfiabad, Korangi and Landhi. During these operation, the police recovered arms, petrol bottles and other items used for arson. He added that the police had been given orders not to spare anyone involved in acts of arson.

Another day of violence in Karachi,5 more people gunned down again and MQM finally rejoined federal cabinet in 'larger national interest' after meeting Rehman Malik at governor house today..

Fear of violence keeps city shut

City life remained paralysed on Tuesday amid fears of further violence after the previous day killing of five people and arson attacks on 25 vehicles.

Most traders, transporters and fuel stations kept their businesses suspended despite the fact that none of their representative organisations had given a strike or protest call.

As the day began, roads were wearing a deserted look with public transport hardly visible in any part of the city. The situation convinced traders to keep their businesses closed amid fears of any untoward situation after Monday's events.

'Thirty-four buses were set on fire in just two days — Sunday and Monday,'
said Irshad Bukhari of the Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI).

“So after having suffered such a loss, there was no need to issue fresh directives to our members. Most were convinced that there would not be normal operation on Tuesday and they kept the vehicles off the roads.”

Mr Bukhari said a few transporters decided to operate in the afternoon, principally on major roads such as Sharea Faisal, M.A. Jinnah Road and Sharea Pakistan.

But, he added, the closure of fuel stations was also one the reasons for below than normal number of buses on the roads. Dawn

A similar observation was shared with by Abdul Sami Khan of the CNG & Petrol Pumps Owners Association as he said most stations remained closed due to 'unknown(MQMized) fear' though there was no call from any side to keep the business closed.

'In Karachi alone there are some 375 fuel stations that included CNG pumps,' he said. 'I don't think that even 30 per cent of these stations functioned normally during the day. Even those in the areas of Clifton and DHA preferred to keep businesses closed amid security concerns.'

.. The late-night announcement by a private schools` association to keep educational institutions closed and its contradiction by the provincial education department giving instructions for normal functioning remained a source of confusion among thousands of students and their parents.

Despite the government directives, a large number of schools remained closed while those which attempted to continue with their academic activities witnessed most students and teachers absent.

.. Similar was the situation in city markets where shutters remained down and a few which stayed open missed the usual number of buyers.

“We had started coordinating on Monday evening about the Tuesday operation,” said Ateeq Meer, the chairman of the Alliance of Market Associations — a platform for nearly 300 markets and traders` associations in the metropolis.

“But we were very much doubtful about normal operations after the intense wave of violence across the city and our fears met the reality when traders could not dare open up their business.” He said most markets, including those set up in residential and commercial districts, remained closed but a few of them started resuming their business in the evening.

“It was only the fear factor that kept Karachi closed. Businesses are interlinked with each other and when you don`t find transport on roads that ultimately leads to the closure of markets,” Mr Meer said.

    Another 'achievement' of MQMized thugs

Attendance in educational institutions remains thin

Attendance in a majority of public and private sector educational institutions remained thin while many Class IX and X students missed Tuesday’s papers of the Secondary School Certificate examinations as there was no public transport available in the morning in parts of the city.

Though officials of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi claimed that all candidates who reached their centres even after half an hour of the paper’s starting time were allowed to take exam, some students insisted they missed their papers because public transport vehicles in their localities started operating after 10am or even after 11am whereas the starting time of the papers was 9.30am.

An official of the BSEK said candidates claiming they had missed Tuesday’s papers owing to a non-availability of public transport would be allowed to take their missed papers, for which a new date would be announced soon.

Meanwhile, few students and staff could reach the University of Karachi, NED University, medical and engineering colleges and other major educational institutions in the city in the absence of public transport. Classes and exams could not be held in most of the higher education institutions, according to sources.

    @Doctor,
Do u know why they are doing such criminal activates just think and imagine and realize because they want all Pakistanis became irritated from thier action and then they demand for separate province for only Urdu speakers (immigrants). After that they will be complete in charge to kick out all the ethnics from Karachi and they will bring large number of immigrants from Bangladesh and India (mini India) to make other ethnics zero level to not compete from thier so called dreamed province. For this they have support from Inida, israil.if they remain peaceful then Altaf god fathers RAW getting angry from him because they have instructions that never be quite and violation should not be stopped otherwise Punjabi, pathans will eat you people this is the manifesto of MQM.

Until Altaf is exiled never expect peace in city because foreign agencies have lot of secrets about Altaf will be disclosed so that they are using him to destabilize the country.

Some time they are showing him dreams of demanding new province like (Karachi, hyd, mirpur, thur to have free trade with India this is Indian RAW planning just fool them and India in return will send million immigrants to Karachi to reduce Muslims majority which is increasing in large number and will be settled in narrow area, India is using Muslim brotherhood slogan to transfer human flow to make Pakistan unstable state). This will be demanded when Pakistan will force India for Kashmir issue to take revenge by using Altaf.
All Pakistanis must keep close eyes on their all actions and all their workers and every step must smell to precede with them not all Urdu just MQM buddies, because they have hijacked their own people in landhi, malir, and lines area. Model town and people are forced if they vote any other ethnics or other then MQM will be eliminated.

international cities are not a property of any ethincs fathers but property of pakistan and all nations liviing in pakistan ahve right to come and earn and feed thier families.any one have a problem i must suggest him he may move to other areas of pakistan.
