Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Hassan al-Banna on social justice.
Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Hassan al-Banna on social justice.
Thank you very much, ZIA for this upload.
Considering the level of this discussion- I doubt if there will be many comments.
Shimatoree- It is ironic Tariq Ramadan, like Tariq Ali is hated by both Christian fundamentalists and Islamists. He is banned in lot of Muslim countries.
It is a shame we rather engage in petty issues than to talk about social justice, job discrimination and lack of opportunities for our people.
The saner voices amongst Muslims have to prevail to stop radicalization.

so you believe that Qur'an is the Book of Allah swt and it needs to be reinterpreted in light of prevailing world order?
Quran is not the topic here and what i believe should not be a concern of yours.
right, then i'll wait for someone who agrees with tariq's views and is able to present his views-
thx
3 part discussion around Tariq Ramadan's thoughts.
usa didn't give him visa because of his anti-jew views :)
Bush was also a right wing nut.

Part 3)
who is tariq ramzaan?
He does not need visa for USA, he's swiss citizen.
I attended his lecture in Boston in 2002. He said someone asked his grand dad if cinema is good. Al Banna replied good cinema is good and bad cinema is bad. Then Tariq recommended us the movie, 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda.
may be no visit visa, but i was talking about in reference to his work visa fiasco -check that out :)
His philosophy is very much similar to Allama Iqbal.I don't necessarily agree with his religious point of view but i do respect him for his frankness and his effort to bridge the gap between east and west.
