LAHORE: Shahbaz Taseer, son of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, was kidnapped from Lahore’s Gulberg area, DawnNews reported.
He was abducted on gunpoint by four kidnappers, police said.
Shahbaz’s father, Salman Taseer, one of the country’s strongest voices against religious extremism, was shot dead by a member of his own security detail outside an Islamabad cafe on January 4, 2011.

Shahbaz Taseer abducted from Lahore
LAHORE: Shahbaz Taseer, son of late Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer, was abducted from the Gulberg area of Lahore on Friday.
Express 24/7 correspondent Muhammad Rizwan reports Shahbaz Taseer was abducted from a street adjacent to MM Alam Road, where his office First Capital Securities is located.
More than three men in a black Land Cruiser intercepted Taseer’s Mercedes and abducted him. His iPad, three mobile phones and a weapon were thrown out of the car near Hussain Chowk.
Express 24/7 correspondent Rabia Mehmood said police officials were not revealing much at the moment, but had said that they were cordoning off the Gulberg area to launch a search operation.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and has issued directives to Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab and Chief Secretary Punjab to take immediate action.
