****? What a retarded statement. Did anybody question when Yousaf was made captain against a tour to Australia and England? And what about Shahid Afridi? Anyways, I have long abandoned watching cricket for a long time. So bring in whoever they like. Cricket is going to meet the same fate as hockey.

  7. With others as guilty and playing, it certainly is not fair BUT

"yousuf made 8 players swear on the Quran in his hotel room not to 'follow' younis khan.."
If true then certainly he should be kicked out for just this transgression.

Certainly when Yousaf was made captian, he svcked big time and yet had the gall to say he would remain captain no matter what. That really surprised me and I thought "This guy has no shame". He was the one who should have resigned his captaincy.

Agree with @sasherwani that "Cricket say to mazhab ko duur rakho.. 'khuda kay waastay?' " One Inzamam was enough!!!

BTW: I still do not understand why Afridi and Misbah are on the team. I have NEVER understood why Fawad Alam always makes the team....Any one know the story behind him always getting selected???

Yousaf should be in the team as a batsman not as a Captain. Like Sachin's batting and overall game worsened when he was captain(some even consider sachin as worst Indian captain ever) same thing happened with Yousaf. Umar Gul is another player that should be included.

    Posted 2 years ago on 22 May 2010 22:21 #
  10. One piece of advise for Yousuf is that he should give his more time to cricket as compare to current time which he is giving as M. Yousuf might be involved in many seh roza or 10 roza for prayers this is good for Yousuf's faith but it is not good for his cricket because all those days he missed practice and as a result he wasnt able to perform so instead of getting himself so deep into religion he should give equal time to both this is the only way he will be able to bring back his form in cricket once again...

Yousaf should come back in the team but not as Captain. Salman Butt should lead the test side. Since Imran we never had a stable Captain even though we had players like Javed, Waseem, Waqar, Inzamam.

I literally 'hate' Yousuf and Younis as atheletes. They have 'zero' sportsmanship skills just Like Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal. Yet I think we really require both the YOs in the test side or else we will be crushed again by Australia like we did last year when we lost 9 games in a row to Australia.
I think there needs to be some training in the camp; not just bowling/batting/fielding training but also some disciplinary training. The current team is easily the most indisciplined side the cricketing world has witnessed. When I see Kamran intentionally missing that stump, when I see Mhd Aamer missing a catch because he was too busy flirting with girls in the crowd and when I see Rana intentionally underperforming to send a message, I see a BIG lack in commitment, patriotism and discipline! These are very serious issues which can actually destroy Pakistani cricket. So its very important we address them asaP!

  14. Let me ask: Whether we have Yousaf and Younis back (as players -- certainly not captains -- isn't it irrelevant if we have team management headed by Ijaz Butt and his team (Wasim Bari, etc) and with Zardari as the "Patron" saint? I agree with IK:

“Ad-hocism, the influence of departmental teams and the practice of the President being chief patron of the cricket board are the three major causes for our cricket problems,” the Daily Times quoted Khan, as saying.

Anyways, here is the latest from the PCB Committee:
    Senators slate PCB

Pakistani senators Saturday lashed out at authorities for not taking action against players involved in match-fixing, saying the cricket board should be disbanded to save the sport.

"The present management has failed to take any action against players involved in match-fixing and they must be removed to save Pakistan cricket," Senator Haroon Akhtar told reporters at the national cricket academy.
    ...
"Butt is running the PCB as a one-man show and we appeal on President Asif (Ali) Zardari to remove him to save Pakistan cricket otherwise it will be destroyed by this management," said Akhtar.

Butt, who took over in October 2008, has survived previous calls from senators and MPs for his dismissal as he has enjoyed the confidence of Zardari.

Senator Tariq Azeem said PCB should throw out match-fixers.

"We should not leave the matter to the ICC or anyone else. We should throw the tainted players ourselves," said Azeem...
    ...

Zardari is controlling pretty much everything that generates a revenue in Pakistan. PCB, though now significantly poor, used to generate a lot of money. Zardari had to make sure to get a big piece of that revenue pie. Butt was the ideal candidate for the con-job. As long as Zardari is in power, Ijaz Butt will remain in power. Even if too much pressure is forced onto Butt to resign, he'd be replaced by another Zardari ka chaila.

What about making Zardari as captain and Biliwal as Co-Cap. the only snag would be that his beautiful dentures may get smashed.

  17. What it has to do with religious beliefs of a cricket players? Stupid notion to link cricket performance with Muhammad Yosuf's religious beliefs. He has been a great player in his heydays but now his time is up. We need fresh blood in our team. It is shameful every thing is linked with religion whether it is politics or cricket. we have seen how badly misuse of religion has damaged our society and how badly it is exploited by our mullahs. 80% problems of our country are because of exploitation of religion. Extremist Mullahs are to blame for mis-using religion and causing disharmony in our society.

    @ Psycho,

Seemed like you never got that refund?

Read my post again..lemme paste it for you..

"I think we really require both the YOs (Yousuf and Younis) in the test side or else we will be crushed again by Australia like we did last year when we lost 9 games in a row to Australia."

As for cricket.. its a sport..a sport played by muslims AND nonmuslims.. can you prove to me that good muslims or bad muslims have prevailed in this sport? No you cant. Because cricket has got nothing to do with religion. Its just a game.. just like football, hockey, chess etc.. If you dont get my point, call your educational institution again for a refund.

I need no refund, Because i never accepted any refund in my life

    thats why i am happy

    Now

"""Cricket ko mazab se door rakho"""

The best Example for this is Europe and west, they change their religion according to their own desires, and also separated their religion from their lives.

Now u can see the demerits

    1. They dont know whose their father

    2. Their wives cheats them

    3. They Cheats their wives

    4. They call their mother on mother's day

This what the begging stage of

"Cricket ko Mazab se door rakho"

    why not

Cricket ko dunia se door rakho"

who want to sperate religion from their lives

I thought you were against playing or watching cricket. If cricket is unislamic then why bother attaching it with religion. As far as cheating is concerned, that happens all over the world, west is just your favorite target. Are you going to blame Islam if somebody cheats in a muslim country, the answer is no. Plus government is not going to regulate people's bedrooms. Family matters and problems are resolved within the family unless you go to court. Don't take the refund, but enroll in a better school then.

    can u tell me

    1. What do u think we are true Muslims??

    2. What do u think people are true with Islam

    3. Why we are following West?

    4. Why we have adopted their way of living

If u can really answer me then

the u will find ur answer

""""""""""""As far as cheating is concerned, that happens all over the world, west is just your favorite target. Are you going to blame Islam if somebody cheats in a muslim country, the answer is no. Plus government is not going to regulate people's bedrooms"""""

Family problems can't be solved untill u have s system

and that is what "Islamic System"

I don't like cricket and i am not attaching it to religion

I have many opinion, that cricket is not in the Islam

it create evil in the society, so u should leave this evil.

"Cricket ko mazab se door Rakho"

it mean break all the laws of islam in cricket. But never bring islam in cricket so that we enjoy this mortal world. Infact u want to cross the limits, that's what i am explaining to u, If u say

"Cricket ko mazab say door rakho"

it mean u are try to say that something is wrong in islam that's why take away islam from cricket.

    May statement

I don't like cricket, it's evil is pure islam and with in the limit of Islam

M.Yousaf has always a very good record in Past.

He is the best player and the issue is never his performance but differences with Shoaib Malik..
He has long record of fantastic Innings.
The matter is political.Shoaib Malik every one knows that he is having POlitical Pressures over Cricket Board to remain in the team and pushing the other players around..

Time is not far when Pakistan Cricket team will be ranked 7th/8th in both 1-Day and Test Cricket, just as Pakistanis are ranked at bottom on their education and ethics.
By Grace of Allah SWT, Pakistan was given as "Naimat" but Pakistanis have been irresponsible.
