i think thousands of my posts during the course of last couple of years are enough to explain about myself...

  4. SI, be in no hurry. Give people time to get used to the idea of self introspection. I've said what I had to say about myself on your other thread. Perhaps I can add the following: The human qualities I most admire: loyalty, genuine kindness and courage. What I hate: greed, i.e. materialism.

Salam Sahib, what of us latecomers? We didn't get to read your past posts. A line or two for our sakes? I've just seen what you had to say about Iqbal on the philosophy thread. It was indeed very, very good.

    dear mirza ghalib

thanks, i do express myself openly and let my work talk for itself

i think apart from difference on understanding of history from 1857-1947 we have many common grounds :)

i guess some extra history books from US/UK historians 'spoiled' my mind, especial 'blame' goes to ayesha jalal and ian talbot :)

  6. Thank you Salam Sahib, That's a stride forward. And much grows clearer now. As for any crowns being in danger, no way. True kings are never dethroned.

  10. Thanks. And I owe you that too, I suppose. Defects: as many as any human being can have, but let me mention three of them here: jaazbati, easily discouraged (except about God Almighty), ignorant as I've said before.

i think self introspection is good, but should be kept as personal and private subject, making it public leads to incorrect result :)

You calling my name (jazbati) a defect.

  13. True enough, Salam Sahib, but since singh isking asked, we could not do otherwise than oblige for this once. As for incorrect results, seems to me practically everything one does in this world, be it here in Pakistan or elsewhere, that's what we end up with: incorrect results. God knows, human beings are as a rule well intentioned and see where it gets them.

actually what i meant to say was that if i start giving my strengths or weaknesses in a public forum then one might perceived it as bragging or boasting, since self-introspection is a personal subject, making it public may give wrong signals-

  15. Got your point, Salam Sahib. But I do remember something about you. It's just come back to me. You won't mind if I put it down, will you? Nothing about strength or weakness, just a statement of fact. No, I won't put it down. But it concerns your occupation and it was on a thread about teaching young people the right values. Does it ring a bell?

  17. Well done, achtung. Exactly what was needed here. Some of what you wrote above I can even confirm in my dealings with you, short though these have been. Carry on with your beliefs. It's the only thing anyone has to sustain them through life and its daily grind.

zarra nawazi hy aapki mirza ghalib bhai, verna banda kis qabil hy. mein samajhta hoo keh self introspection bohat mushkil kam hy. har insaan ki asal haqeeqat wo hoti hy jo doosroon ki aksariat ussay samajhtay hein verna tou har insaan iss ghalat fehmi mein hee mubtala rehta hy keh mein hee perfect hoo.

Selfintrospection is above supreme court where you should summon yourself daily for your own rectification and amelioration. Honestly speaking, we never be candid with others, however we are forthright or outspoken. For instance, can you be candid with us about your sexual orientation? (if you'll pardon my expression). Can you be candid with us about your ulterior motives regarding some most personal issues? So I'll daresay it should be personal as per it has been suggested in our religon. Because you can rectify yourself if you kept your shorcoming secret but surely it would be nothing to impossible to retrieve the situation if it became public.

  23. Dear me. My above sentence was only supposed to be a silly joke. Nothing more.

This said, of course, achtung, you're right. Perfection is reserved for God. And some of us are better than others.

Javedhsheikh sahib, self-reticence is also no bad thing. There, too, one can't claim everyone should remove the veil and reveal the real person. In fact, is it even necessary? Speak to someone a bit and listen attentively, and one might have a fair idea of what that person might be like within.

theimrannasir - You brought up quite another point there: how much honesty can one allow oneself when speaking to a third party. Most of us are wholly without dark secrets, I imagine. Only a few are so afflicted that they have something to hide. But still you're right. And God does know what intentions come with any of our actions. May he forgive us our weaknesses and help us daily to improve.

perhaps a misunderstanding, my occupation is not teaching... :)

    Posted 2 years ago on 29 Apr 2010 3:10 #
  27. So sorry, then, Salam Sahib. I thought it was. You seemed to know youth well and I think you said something along those lines too. I simply jumped to the wrong conclusio. But even teaching is no bad an occupation really, honourable all in all. I salute the powers of your memory then.

Also, did you see why poor SI was so hyper recently? It took his mind off more painful things.

agreed, teaching is no doubt an honorable and respectable occupation.

in that thread "Shaping young minds program (SYMP)" i mentioned having responsibility of shaping young minds, but not as occupation/profession :)

    Posted 2 years ago on 29 Apr 2010 7:25 #
  29. Yes, thank you. I shall be more careful about jumping to conclusions the next time.
