Multan: Former Foreign Minister and senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to join Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said that Qureshi would announce his joining on November 27 in Kashmor during a public gathering.
The former minister informally parted his ways with the PPP after Raymond Davis episode in January this year.
Raymond Davis had killed two Pakistani youth in Lahore and the US claimed blanket immunity for him which was categorically refused by Qureshi.

Let me first say this, that i am totally against this decision of PTI to accept SMK into PTI but had he accepted N over PTI would you still say the same thing that establishment was behind this. I think all commentators should move away from such remarks especially when it's not backed up by any evidence.

    ......

The plans seems to be as under:

    • A new alliance comprising PTI (Imran Khan), MQM (Altaf Hussain), factions of PMLQ, and JI are being actively supported to form an alliance to force an anarchic situation followed by a joint electoral alliance.

    • This alliance would be supported by other individual ISI agents, including Sheikh Rasheed, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Saifullah brothers, Humayun Akhtar Khan and many more.

    • A few TV anchors and journalists, such as Haroon Rasheed and Kamran Khan are already making grounds for such alliance and change.

I think this is not the case anymore, all they want to do is to keep NS out of power sharing. Today's PPP is pro establishment and establishment does not have any problems with Zardari, MQM, PML-Q is also pro establishment, in FATA ANP can not make any government on their own so they depend on Molvis (they are the biggest supporter of establishment). Only place where establishment have some opposition is Punjab, I guess here they have two options 1)divide punjab into smaller provinces and limit PML-N to GTA corridor only 2) Come-up with another pro establishment party with to put a dent in PML-N vote bank and to push them out of provincial government setup.

Seems, establishment is working on option 2 and PPP government working on option 1 in parallel.

My vision for future ( provided the present scenario prevails)
    1) same President
    2) same dummy PM( not gillani but CHANGE of face)
    3) IK as CM North punjab ( aka takht-e-Lahore)
    4) PPP MPA as CM south punjab
    5) Same Ishratul-i-bad + PPP CM in sindh
    6) Same coalition in KPK & baluchistan.
& this change is brought to you by------------.

I may agree with them, they are not supporting rather launching IK... they haven't learned and they continue to interfere in political setup... may be after 10/12 years, when they would get tired of IK then some retired general would spill the beans...

It was dirty games of Establishment which resulted in the Black day of December, it is game of Establishment when Pakistanies were butchered in the name of ethnicity in 80s in 90s it is parties of establishment which killed people in the mosque while they were praying and are the same parties who are in the form of TTP haunting Pakistan and Pakistani people...

If the division of Punjab happen then your assessment seems correct, but if not and we get to the point of elections then establishment needs to pull the strings to push the NS & SS out of the picture.

If you look at the electorate districts in north Punjab, gap between the winners and runner-up candidates is not very big in last 2/3 elections, if PTI manage 8/10,000 votes in each electoral district out of PML-N vote bank, they will lose more then half of their current seats. At the same time if PTI manage ~30 seats, they become part of coalition in government.

for this you have to find out who is governing pakistan establishment policies.
    answer is simple.
It is international establishment that one has to tackle otherwise it will be mere CHANGE of FACES not change of system.
We have fresh examples of Iraq, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Egypt & Libya; all in the name of democracy.

Seems not possible for now, and don't blame PTI/PPP/MQM/PML -Q for that.

PML-N did not put much strategic thinking into the whole equation when they decide to support Zardari at all cost, even in spite of his grave mistakes and taking free ride on NS expense they supported him. Now we get to a point where general public who supported NS in last few elections are asking what NS wanted? and can we trust his decision making/policies?

So yes, it's PML-N/NS mess and only they can clean this, but not with the desperation where one day they go after MQM other day PML-Q and now IK. This is not going to buy them any favors. We still have around 18 months to go in next general elections, by all mean avail this time and go after PPP more vigorously, bring them into the spotlight. Engage with the main culprit. If PML_N involve in fights with PTI/PML-Q/MQM then basically PPP succeed in bringing PML-N down to second tier parties with limited representation. PML-N needs to put some positive agenda ahead of people, who knows they might buy his candidacy again.

There are few thing which happened against the will of international establishment, one of them is Pakistan becoming the nuclear power, hopefully there are ways to get out of this net of national and international establishment... just before getting in detail to that, let see what happened to the people who resisted against national and international establishments

    1) Bhutto, a pawn, a wind of change, last hope of Pakistan's poor in late 60s, acted as per the will of establishment ( both local and international) gave them what they wanted and later out of his nature, rebelled against them, the national and international establishment hanged him.

    2) Shah Faisal Shaheed, came to the power with the blessing of international establishment ( there is no local establishment in Saudi), later rebelled against them and was made history.

    3) Zia ul Haq, never resisted them, did what they wanted ( international establishment) and in the end tried to chew more than his mouth can handle, converted into dust..

    4) Nawaz Sharif, came to power twice with the help of local establishment, rebelled twice and paid the price, lucky to escape

    5) Benazir Bhutto, came to power after a compromise with est. and they in order to control her got Zardari on her back... the parasite ate her alive..

    6) Mushy, ceased power with their blessing, ruled and destroyed Pakistan as per their will and for his good services, was sent to luxurious retirement...

Lack of clarity even today by PML(N) leadership is sending confusing messages to aaam awam and is further putting more pressure on them and they are losing credibility fast.

here is a one great article on that.

LAHORE - Making it loud and clear that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s language at Bhaati Chowk had nothing to do with the party policy, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has changed altogether its “Go Zardari Go” campaign to recover from the political bouncer bowled by Imran Khan at Minar-e-Pakistan and cope with criticism from inside the party over the venue of PML-N’s rally at Bhaati Chowk, CM’s derogatory onslaught against the president and the abrupt rescheduling of planned rallies.

The party now plans to change the political game “by hook or crook” between mid-December and mid-January.
“The target is clear and it will be achieved even if we have to team up with the Chaudhys, Fazlur Rehman and other political forces in and outside parliament,” said a source in Raiwind.

The “Go Zardari Go” campaign has been shelved until after Muharram upon the return of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, who is in London for medical check-up. His visit to London was not earlier planned, but was appended with his Turkey tour after he felt some pain in the chest and learnt about the birth of his grandson.

The extension came at a time when the party needed him and wanted him to address the Faisalabad rally on November 4.
Nawaz absence has left a bad taste in the mouth for his fans, workers and the general public. Some call it a natural handicap of Nawaz that he fails to strike at the right time.
They call it an inborn immaturity of Nawaz, showcased especially while dealing with Zardari. However, various groups feel that his close aides forced him into political blunders by showing him rosy pictures of bleak future and making him blind to political realities.

Nawaz has taken control of the upcoming rallies, directing party “diehards” and “firebrands” to cease all work related to anti-government campaign, a PML-N senior leader said. However, he ruled out the rumours that the Sharifs had shelved the agitation plan.

The PML-N has also distanced itself from Shahbaz Sharif’s abusive language and derogatory remarks against Zardari. “What Shahbaz said at Bhaati Chowk does not reflect the PML-N policy,” a close aide to Nawaz said.

PML-N Secretary Information Mushahidullah Khan said the “Go Zardari Go” drive would resume upon Nawaz’s return after Muharram.

Admitting that Imran Khan was an undeniable reality, he said the PML-N never ruled out Imran factor in politics and always considered him a reality even in the past. However, he said Imran was not a threat to the PML-N, as he would wreak havoc upon the PPP and others by hijacking their traditional vote bank in Southern Punjab.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

on one side they are bashing everyone PTI, JUI(F), PML(Q), MQM and then they come out and say we will do anything to get rid of zardari. their consistent flip flops are mind boggling.

    @Dusky,

Spot on bro, nothing you said is wrong, however these joinings of so-called heavy weights in PTI is clearing the picture very much, i doubt there is 18 months to election but that is the maximum period available, PML-N should organize itself and get after Zardari, so far SS is after him, and now NS need to be more aggressive on to Zardari...

need to hit where it hurts, need to focus on Quetta, Karachi, Qalat, Mardan

PML-N can hit on Quetta, Karachi, Qalat, Mardan only when they are strong in Punjab. If they lose Punjab, they lose the game regardless how good they do in rest of the Pakistan.

I completely agree with Insaftak, PML-N needs to send a clear and cohesive message. Saying that they are disowning SS comments is not an answer. From Sharif's to Mushahidullah and all in between suppose to sing the same song. Infect they need to learn from MQM playbook of party communications.
