This is a character assignation attempt by you to defame Asma Shirazi. What about ex playboy life style and pictures of Imran Khan with lots of White women during his cricket days. Now Imran has become a saint and a strong supporter of Taliban mafia. Someone has said correctly "Billi chali hajj ko soo choohay kha key". Be a gentleman and stop character assassination campaign of Asma Shirazi.
A Govt funded hajj is another thing but defaming her by posting pictures is inappropriate and invasion in her privacy. Would yo like to see pictures of your family on these pages on Internet? or what about your political hero Imran Khan. I am sure he has got more playboy pictures than anyone else.

MembersI will never understand what good comes out of posting pictures of a news anchor's personal life or videos of a news anchor smoking. Why is our nation so obsessed with the personal lives of news media 'celebrities'? Our thoughts can be contrasting but our goals shouldn't be so damn scattered!
Seriously guys! We have a lot of much more important issues to worry about.
As for the Hajj issue, Aasma should be ashamed of herself. The hajj she performed was paid by the government. The government runs on tax money. The tax comes mostly from 'ghareeb awaam'. She had no right to go on that hajj. 'La Ilmi' is never an excuse especially when stealing from the poor awaam.

Asma Shirazi is a public personality, we have every right to expose her hypocritical behavior, she is all goodie goodie with a hijab and all but she doesn't see a problem with govt funded Hajj and partying at the expense of US embassy.
Asma and Mehr are the darlings of right wingers and these rigth wingers need to see their reality.
Just like all right wingers were gung ho about TTP being a righteous "Mujahids" whereas they were exposed by the whole Davis affair.
This is not personal life, they were at AMERICAN EMBASSY.
Why don't you post proof of Imran's past life, go a head post pictures of Imran, and it's my right to repudiate those allegations.
And also, refrain from talking about my family, you don't know me like that!!! FYI none of my family members are in public and go to US embassy and party!!!

I agree with the pictures part. That's her personal life. Who are we to judge her personal actions? I dont think she was drinking or doing drugs, even if she was we shouldnt consider media celebrities as angels or gods and expect them to be Masoom.
As for the hajj issue, it was paid out of government funds that is generated via taxation (mostly sales tax paid by the poorer class). What gives her the right or the eligibility to do free hajj along with her husband on government funds?

I personally have no ill will for Shirazi, I don't watch her shows. But I found it really funny that in her show on Wagah border she asked India to turn down the music because she was conducting her show on this side? That was so dumb of her!!

MemberOfficial Hajj like plots is open corruption that government uses to hide it's deficiencies. The bigger corruption plots taken by judges, generals, politicians, bureaucrats, Journalists should be stopped. As far as Hajj is concerned religious scholars should come forward and high light it's religious value. My understanding is Hajj is not mandatory, those who can afford should perform one, which means it has to be from your hard earned savings not poor's tax money.
I don't know if Asma Sherazi is right or left journalist, I seldom watch her but her pictures from embassy party were uncalled for. As a journalist it's part of her job to be at parties like that. If Hamid Mir, Talat Hussein, Kashif Abbasi can build relations with Taliban why Asma Shirazi can't with foreign consulates? What do we expect news that we get from media are revealed to journalists in dreams? They have to build relationships with information sources be it ISI, embassay, politician, or jihadi to extract news.
Having said that Journalist like Politician needs to be careful using race or religion for personal growth. They may have short term personal gain but in long term nation pays the price as we are paying.

Remember USA has a special budget for building a positive image in Pakistan by the use of money/parties. Can the journalists be trusted if they participate in such events?
Btw: Whom of the participating journalists made prg. or article about the party and the purpose of the party?

Our politicians are the most corrupt in the world and the nation is also same. Media is also part of our nation just like our cricketers and some people do not mind if the hajj is funded by Govt. But criticism of hers is unjustified and display of her pictures is highly dis-tasteful.
CORRUPTION of all kinds is now a socially acceptable culture in Pakistan and the one who is not doing corruption is the one who has not yet got the opportunity!!!!

I tell sweet truths all the time and you too are her critic. Shame on you! Glass ceiling issue is evident in this thread.
Some people firmly believe women should stay home, cook meal for the family, wash plates, clean house and breed children. This negative and backward mentality is still very strong in our society and some small minded people get jealous when they see a woman climbing high in her professional life.

When Hamid Mir's tape came out Kashif Abbasi and Talat Hussein in one of the program discussed how they themselves talked to alleged caller Usman. Among other things they discussed cricket at length with him. Some people may have issue why leading journalists are so cozy with killers who accept responsibility of every blast. But Kashif Abbasi aptly explained it. If he only talks to Usman when Usman has some news he will loose that source. Usman will only share news with him on regular basis if he feels comfortable with him. Same logic applies to journalists building relations with GHQ, consulates or Politicians. And yes journalists who build relations with information sources can be trusted, they all do - no exceptions.

It would be really nice if they are partying at US embassy and getting close to them to extract info. But we all know the reality, you think Glen Beck parties with Palin to extract info? Obviously not, all fox news reporters were really close to Bush regime and towed his lines very well. Similarly, these journalists i.e. Asma and Bokhari etc were invited to US embassy so that they can get cosy with each other and than US embassy can influence their reporting.
Remember both Asma and Mehr are right wingers not left wingers. It wouldn't be a big surprise if Mosharraf Zaidi or Nadeem Paracha et al were partying in US embassy like that but this is sheer hypocrisy by Bokhari and Asma. That's why I posted these pictures and they have been circulating the internet for a while now and they are shocking to many people for many different reasons i.e. some have problem with here "dancing and paling" around with men and some have a problem with her hypocrisy, and I too belong to the latter group.

As Dell already has pointed out there can only be reason in being f.ex. in the American embassy if journalists wants to get some information they otherwise couldn't get access to. As far as I know none of the participants have reported about the shadowy practice of the American embassy and the journalist who love to be invited to such places. So there is NO excuse to participate in such dubious activities.

If your goal is to expose right wing hypocrisy on speaking against US in Public for ratings and enjoying cozy relations with them in private, I agree. Most of our political and media elite are like that and they shouldn't be. Come on man! glass ceiling is a big problem in our society. One of my doctor cousins suffered alot at the hands of her husband who was less educated than her and also was earning less money than her. She underwent terrible times for several years due to her high education and handsome earning than her husband. In the end, she divorced him.

MemberI didn't find Asma doing anything objectionable in those pictures atleast she was better than those sc#mbags saima mohsin and mehr bukhari..the little bit respect I had for mehr has gone down the drain after seeing her cozying up with chooras. koi aukaat nahi hai in donon ki. same goes for the male journalists h@rami bikao.it seems some of them were drinking alcohol(muft mein mil rahi hai ghareebon ko)... yahan woh drone attack kar rahe hain and these b@stards are enjoying with them.sell-outs.
On privacy issue, Once you're a public figure then there's no such thing as private life. People have a right to know if people, who hold a position of responsibility, are doing someting unacceptable.
