The recent cases of suicidal deaths in Lahore expose all the grandiose verbosity of the rulers of federal and provincial governments. The poor class people of Lahore are mostly accustomed of living simple style, but when their very basic needs are made difficult to attain, then they develop the tendency of doing something which is strictly prohibited in Islam. Our Ulemas also don't preach the spiritual disasters of committing suicide.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
What's the point of making this thread ?
There's no use in talking endlessly when impartial, across the board, FAST!, non-discriminatory justice which obeys Islam's standards is not going to be provided.

Correct as you say and as has been relayed through media the victims were unable to payback their loans. They were bullied into payment. One was even threatened that his house would be claimed.
This man, a sole breadwinner for his family was a vegetable vendor at the vegetable market where powerful 'middlemen' or Muslim Banniyas (known as arhatees) forcefully dumped low quality vegetables on his stall for him to sell (usually at a loss).This was done repeatedly and overtime accumulated into a debt he was unable to pay. Irony is that he was also unable to report or resist being helpless against these powerful banniyas.
Lack of law and order (government) should be blamed that drove these poor desperate people to an extreme act of suicide.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
As long as justice is not provided;
(a) chaos will continue
(b) injustice will continue
(c) suicide bombings will continue
(d) suicides will continue
(e) it will become harder and harder to do business in local markets
(f) looting will remain the norm
(g) criminals will continue to rule over this nation
(h) lawlessness will continueWhy should it be a surprise ? Why is it a surprise ?
It is the people who have to;
(a) stop being unjust
(b) struggle for justice, betterment, prosperity
(c) choose good leaders
(d) sacrifice their time, their money, their sweat, their energy, their assets, their women, their lives even for attaining bettermentWithout struggle by people there will be no betterment, no justice, no prosperity.
Change will come to our society when people will accept to change for the better.

Let’s focus on the real culprits; real reasons forcing their victims to a suicide.
Sure authorities responsible to maintain law and order have failed miserably. Greed to make as much money as possible is the drive behind police inaction that such victims do not dare to file a complain.
Lawyers are next. A large majority of lawyers protect their criminal clients one way or another and therefore out of reach for a poor man seeking justice.

I hope these suicides act as a water shed event and motivates the SC to enforce its decisions.If CJ has to get the help of army to bring the corrupt and tax evaders to justice so be it.

at the risk of sounding harsh - lahore has a population of 10m - 5-6 suicides are a drop in the ocean - i'm surprised the rate is not higher

Well, the feudal elite has been controlling pakistan for the past 60 years. We need to start the much-needed land reforms alike to what Nehru did in India, like China completed doing by 1978...Even in western countries, landlords pay a hefty amount of income tax, but in pakistan these blood-suckers get scott-free
Only when we have a robust economic model can these incidents be reduced
