Most assuredly not... this is just another thing that will solidify the perception of muslims as mega violent maniacs... definately not what the country or the ummah needs.

All the human beings have the potential for becoming mega violent maniacs! If the politest people in the world, the Thai, can produce red shirts, and the civilized Greeks can agitate...every nation can!!!
But does it help muslims, certainly not. Some monetory loss to facebook might be effective.

  5. What do we care about Sweden, I ask you? Let it go. They've got their people in Afghanistan as well, this once ex-neutral country, now hand-in-glove with NATO. Also Sweden is among the countries with a high Muslim population in EU Europe. Let them deal with this situation. We in Pakistan should just shrug our shoulders and go on to other and better things.

P.S. So that no one thinks I have anything against Sweden as such, one of the bravest pro-Muslim politicians in Europe happens to be the present Mayor of Malmö, the second biggest Swedish town after Stockholm. Three cheers for him. Also some elements in the Swedish Socialist Party, now out of power, are also on the side of the Muslims.

  7. A peaceful protest is what they are doing till now. Why over exaggerate promoting them to 'mega violent maniacs.' They have a right to protest as their religious emotions and feelings have been hurt.

Sweden closed its embassy in Islamabad for now and will reopen when this issue has cooled down.

  8. thanks gv, your figures sound better than mine. I quickly went up and modified what I said above. My figures were taken from the Brit magazine Prospect, April 2010, p. 57, where Sweden is credited with the highest population of Muslims in European countries over the 2000-2008 period. I should have known Prospect was talking through its hat as usual.

  9. The said protesters were peaceful and no violence took place. Even then if decision is taken to close the embassy then it is based on perception only.
So nothing to blame the muslims for protest in this case.

  10. Thank God, no violence resulted.

Further, gv, I'm the idiot in this. The fastest growing population is what is probably meant, which would reconcile both your BBC Muslim figures and my Prospect figures.

  11. Thanks God no one died this time by Police firing. Lots of foreign companies have departed from Pakistan mainly due to security fears. Singapore Airlines do no operate anymore from Pakistan. Life Security has become very fragile in Pakistan and International companies do not want to take any risks. It is shameful our country is heading towards isolation.

Talibans, AlQaeda and dozens other similar groups have destroyed Pakistan. We have a very serious disease of terrorism and we are trying to cure with Panadol tablets while this terrorism problem requires massive surgery. Our approach to terrorism problem has been lukewarm and that is why there are so many terrorists who are roaming free throughout the country.

  12. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

We don't have disease of terrorism. We have a disease called 'injustice' in Pakistan.

    The terrorism we see in Pakistan is the result of decades of;

    (1) injustice
    (2) injustice by those who hold power
    (3) absence of justice
    (4) absence of justice system
    (5) absence of system

  13. .. the Muslim society has experienced injustice in many forms earlier, take Kerbala for instance, however, the reaction to injustice in the ways many Muslims have adopted lately, termed as terrorism is truly unprecedented phenomenon in the Islamic civilization. It has its origins in Tamil Nado and Northern Ireland.

  14. @hariskhan

We all know you are the strongest supporter of Taliban mafia on this forum. Well, what one can do? You cannot stop supporting talibans and I cannot stop criticizing them. Your logic of injustice is totally wrong. Injustices are common everywhere but it does not mean we should resort to violence or terrorism. Muslim religion has been hijacked by fanatics and they are calling shots. Moderate majority MUST wake up to combat evil forces such as Talibans, AlQaeda, SSP, Jaish Muhammad and many other satanic groups currently operating freely in our society. No angel or Prophet will come from the sky to fix up our problems; we have to rise against these evil forces.

Swedish and other foreigners are scared of what is going on in today’s Pakistan. Where are we heading? We are heading towards isolation and fanatics like you in our society are playing very negative role to further destabilize Pakistan.
