The ’Lazy Muslim Syndrome’ is commonly experienced in Ramadan by those who fast, and unless there is proactive planning and continuous improvement of one’s self, Ramadan could fly by, not cherished like it should be. Like a typical disease, the syndrome can be avoided through precautionary care and combated through active treatment. 2. Thanks for the timely reminder, RhyMe. Only a week or so away now. Whether we really need to do a course or not on how to achieve a productive month of Ramadan will be upto each one of us to decide individually.

  5. Don't Make Ramadan an Eating Contest!!

  6. No way RAMADHAN is an eating competition. A misconception, but in reality a month to ask for forgiveness from Allah (ST) and extending support to those who are not at par with you financially, and providing for them as much as possible during this month assuring they receive equally in the months to follow till the next Ramadhan.

Thanks Rhyme for the reminder. I normally await Ramadhan in great anticipation every year and bid farewell to it with much regret for I dont think any one of us is really truly able to do justice to it. However, something that Alhamdulillah I have stuck to now for a couple of years during Ramadhan- not accepting invitations for iftar dinners etc. and yes I have had to face a quite a few frowns and scoffs... but I have stuck to it and I can tell you how that itself adds value to our time. Our masses forget that Ramadhan is 30 days we get for the collection of Rehmatein, Maghfirah and opportunities for naikies not iftar and sehri deals and hours of entertainment and gup shup that follow these dinners. It is indeed supposed to be a very focussed month and these celebrations actually end up distracting us not only because of the time we spend away from ibadaat but also because of the quanity and type of food we consume.
May Allah Talla give us all the taufiq to justice to this month. Ameen
