it is no doubt one of the reasons but not the sole reason. Us / West plan in advance, say 20- 30 years may be more. If they were only after the resources, Why did the leave Afghanistan at the first place, It was best to get started on this plan when Russians left and whole country was in turmoil due to Warlords fighting each other. Pakistani and American Relations were at best in fact the best in history, and Mujahidins had a very good impression of US, as it helped kick out Russions.

Ohh dear..Londoner..Russians are now replaced by the terror state AMERICA.Same tactics, the russians left defeated americans are defeated already despite their propaganda.

Always grumbling and criticizing America and other Western Developed States won't help to make us better.

A constant expression of hatred is not enough to get our problems solved.
Something constructive is required to be done for a change.

If I see evil and not mention about it,as in relationship with america would be a crime.
Hatred is a strong word JS I do not hate America, but the criminal policies of the empire.

Problems can be solved by Leaders with moral courage, vision,education and the ability to apply justice in their
Judgement with out prejdice period.

Developed state have no rights to invade and plunder poor nation with criminal leadership.

I am grumbling about the injustice and double standard applied by the west towards my fellow muslims period.

JV america last year sold 38 billion dollars worth of weapons to the poor third world countries..Fact..Was this serving mankind??or Satan? Death merchants claiming immunity
From justfied criticism from muslims is their right dont you think ?

1. An Evil is Evil, only where it is universally defined and acknowledged otherwise it is vague.

2. Hatred on the bases of religion, cast, creed, color, sex has been universally recognized as an Evil.

3. Did the 'Death Merchants' forced the buyers to purchase $38 Billion worth of weapons to 'poor' third World countries?

4. Why and how the 'poor' third World countries managed to spend $38 billions for weapons, ignoring health, education, sanitation, and infra structure?

If US want to invade Pakistan, then she will. Do we have the might to stop it militarily? I think no.

I read many posts from Javed Sheikh and other bunch of obtuse. I find the points expressed by Javed Sheikh as realistic and sensible but immediately he comes under attack from the paper tigers with shallow reasoning.

They are defintely paper tigers who elevate the Americans in awe. JS says Americans cannot be defated militarily. I don't think so. The day is not far when you will see their retreat.

When Afghanistan was invaded by Red Army, it was the same depressed mood. Leading Western journalist said like this about Afghanistan and predicted a smooth piece of cake take over and occupation.

1) Poorest country on planet.
2) Average age 49 Years
3) Pajama clad guerillas.(Ridiculing Afghan dress)
4) Only wrist watches on some Afghan made you think it is 21st century otherwise it was scene from Bibilical times.
5) When Red Army occupied East Europe, there was no resistance although the Europeans were "civilised" and "educated" and knew the art of modern warfare. Afghans were most illiterate and uncivilised and could not even think of resistance.
6)Most primitive people on planet.

What happened next after 8 years is obvious. The largest and most powerful army in the world got decimated by those "savages".

USSR was traped in Afghanistan. USSR remained in afghanistan for 8 long years and millions of afghan lossed their lives, millions displaced, still millions are living like refugees in Iran & Pakistan. Non communists capitalists world organized and fully funded afghan jehad and USSR defeated.

Actually, Western world was not ready to fight a long war in their region (they had very bitter experience in first+second WW) so they choosed Afghanistan as battle ground.

Again, this regon is choosed to encirle China. Being

nuclear power and having strong military machine, pakistan can not be attacked openly on international borders. Even China and Iran will never keep quite in this situation.

Therefore, the only possible way was to destablize pakistan internally.

First of all, Taliban were funded and organized by CIA/ISI
in afghanistan to take control of the country, later americans occupied afghanistan and organized pakistani Talibans to destable pakistan.

The pakistani taliban and pakistan military are compelled to fight each other and pose of america is being solved as planned.

It is not taliban of afghanistan jehad which has compelled USA and allied forces to leave afghanistan but

this is as planned by CIA.

CIA has achieved the purpose to shift the war of terror inside pakistan boundaries to make pakistan as banana estate.

Weak states are usually ocupied by powerful nations, it is the practice being repeated since centuries.

When Western were weak, muslim forces used to invade their region so ofenly, now muslim states are week therefore, being invaded by most powerful states.

No really expak,

Except few later generations, most did not "invade" and colonise like West but settled and adopted the lands they "occupied " and tolerated and lived with the locals unlike West that colonised, looted and exterminated the locals populations like American Indians, Australian aborigines etc.

islam is never threatened by West invasion in muslim areas.
islam remained alive though muslims became slaves for centuries like British rule in India.

British rulers did not convert muslims to christians.
USA not converting afghanees to christians.

Now a days war is not fougt for religion but solely for economic/political reasons.

Regarding pklondoner's statement above on Afghanistan that if US/West wanted control then why they left?

I like to remind member about West's plan in 90s implemented through Benazir and his two stooges Maj Gen Naseerullah Babar & Rehman Malik.

They got success after Pak/Saudi backed Pakhtoons took over afghanistan and brought justice and stability. But when pipelistan companies such as Unocal failed in persuading through 10% commission they had to change the plan.

The proxy govt plan failed because Muslims there refused to tow the line.

Just a point to remind you that the interest in the region was still there, but different means were used.

Regarding adank's point on military might needed to say no?

I like to say that we have guided nuclear missiles with misguided men, just wait for the time when misguided are replaced with guided one and no one will be able to threat the nation of 170 million of which 60% is youth.
