US to deploy troops if Pak nukes come under threat

  1. LONDON: US troops will be deployed in Pakistan if the nation's nuclear installations come under threat from terrorists out to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden, the Sunday Express can reveal on Sunday.

The plan, which would be activated without President Asif Ali Zardari's consent, provoked an angry reaction from Pakistan officials last night. Barack Obama would order troops to parachute in to protect key nuclear missile sites. These include the air force's central Sargodha HQ, home base for nuclear-capable F-16 combat aircraft and at least 80 ballistic missiles.

A US source told the Sunday Express: "The plan is green lit and the president has already shown he is wiling to deploy troops in Pakistan if he feels it is important for national security." However, news of the plan has further increased tension between the US and Pakistan with relations already at an all-time low after the Operation Geronimo raid by the US Navy Seal special forces team that killed bin Laden at the house where he had been hiding in Abbottabad, near to a Pakistan military academy.

An angry Pakistani official said: "Pakistan has an elaborate command and control structure and is fully capable of defending its strategic assets under any circumstances and does not need any assistance from any country, including the US, to safeguard its nuclear installations."

The plan reflects growing concern over reprisals for the al-Qaeda terror leader's death. More than 80 people were killed and 140 injured when two Taliban suicide bombers struck at a military academy in the north-western town of Charsadda on Friday.

Alex Neill, of the Royal United Services Institute, said: "The United States places its own national security issues above all other sovereignty issues and trust in Pakistan's abilities are extremely low."

"If Obama can persuade congress that placing US troops at the installations is necessary to protect US citizens from possible nuclear attack, then that's what he will do." The Pentagon on Saturday refused to deny the existence of the plan, with a spokesman saying only: "We are confident that Pakistan has taken appropriate steps towards securing its nuclear arsenal."

  2. Hello Life, S.A., I wish I could clearly express what I felt about this piece of news. But that would mean borrowing from someone else's vocabulary. So let me just state clearly again that OBL died several years back and whoever may or may not have been killed on May 2, it was not him. This is simply US topi drama. Yet another false flag. I don't even believe they violated our airspace. If they did come in at all, they were allowed in. Their national security is a pretext for the most egregious acts of war. They themselves, that is to say the US government, is the biggest threat to their own people. In which, of course, we Pakistanis share something with the USans. Our nuclear weapons are going nowhere and being robbed by no man alive.

  3. that's the bottom line .
that's the ultimate goal they wanna achieve.
    Osama was just a camouflage.
    Alqaida was just a mirage.

  4. True, Beenai, true enough. BUT then I'd like to fly to the stars as well, get to know the other galaxies. However, realism prevails. There's as much chance of my turning into a winged creature as of the west getting their hands on our defence weapons. Why do I say so? Because I'm convinced if there's one thing the Pakistanis will lay down their lives for it's their nuclear assets. And when a Pakistani does decide his own life doesn't count - not a common occurrence - nothing on earth can stop him.

  8. Beenai, not all of us, no doubt. But enough of us to give US a good hiding if they ever did venture to cross the border with disabling our nuclear installations in mind.

The incident of Abbotabad has badly shaken the confidence of the public about the capability of our armed forces. Every citizen of Pakistan now wonders about the answer to a question. "Shall we be able to do defend ourselves, if the US strikes in our territory again?".

  10. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    BS!

If foreign boots come into territory of this nation, it will be noted as an "act" "of war".

..and once the war begins, and we find them inside borders of Pakistan, none will be allowed to go back alive.

P.S. We are Muslims. We will adhere to Islam's standards of war.

  11. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

@Sharif Aadmi: Slaves (or a better word is "minions") neither have any rights, nor privileges.

They can be "used", "abused", "trashed", and even killed without any judicial repercussions what-so-ever.

P.S. @Admins/Moderators: Why let this propagandist back into this community ? This guy has "repeatedly" "earned" the "reputation" of being a deceiver. In-fact, he's still at it. He's still doing the same.

ISI and Army failed to stop daily suicide attacks its better to have Nuke security out sourced to American SEAL, and experts.

Have we learned any thing from Japan's nuke saga few months back? Do we have expertise and money for such accidents

Have we learned any thing from Abbotabad operations, Army failed to arrest or protect OBL? they failed at least on one part.

Do we have technology and courage to bring down drones?

if answer is no to all above then why we are entertaining our self with Nuke plants

The nation is already spending a major part of its budget over the army. What is really required to be done for our survival is to develop the technologies which can ensure the perfection of our defense system. There is no real system of R&D in our military institution. If there is, then surely it is not upto the required standards!

The PALS (Permissive Action Links) for Pakistan's nuclear warheads have been supplied by the US government.

"A device included in or attached to a nuclear weapon system to preclude arming and/or launching until the insertion of a prescribed discrete code or combination. It may include equipment and cabling external to the weapon or weapon system to activate components within the weapon or weapon system."

P.S. They don't need to physically occupy those puppies anway.

  16. But isn't that true that we are still relying on others, as if not America then China will be surely their for our help 'against' America.
What will we do if China also turns its face from us?
