“Prime Minister Gilani’s offer to work with the United States to establish a transparent process on visas that will enable us to undertake full range of activities is a positive development,” said US Ambassador Anne Patterson.

ISLAMABAD: Washington wants Islamabad to put in place a restriction free and uniform visa regime for its diplomats and embassy staff posted here allowing them to carry out ‘full range of activities’.

“We look forward to creation of a visa mechanism that will enable US officials do their jobs without interference,” US Ambassador Anne Patterson said in a statement issued by the embassy’s Office of Public Affairs.

So, USA wants ease for their citizens. USA is going to secure ease for their citizens.

(1) What has Pakistan gotten in return for this ? Has USA made its visa policy hassle free for Pakistani citizens ?

(2) Has Pakistan Govt. told USA to do the same for Pakistani citizens ?

(3) Has USA issued 30,000 + visa to Pakistani citizens to go to USA, as Pakistan has done for people from USA ?

First of all no U.S citizen has any interest in coming to Pakistan. They are constantly told by their gov't not to visit Pakistan. It is their diplomatic and military officials that are going to be stationed in Pakistan. If the U.S visa policy was not hassle free then how are kids of former JI chief were able to get into the U.S.

(2) Has Pakistan Govt. told USA to do the same for Pakistani citizens ?

Yes they have. And U.S has has put forward a request to Pakistan. It is not like Pakistan has accepted the offer. And even if it did, then it is our government that is at fault.

(3) Has USA issued 30,000 + visa to Pakistani citizens to go to USA, as Pakistan has done for people from USA ?

30,000? there are like a million Pakistanis in U.S. Not to mention close relatives of Afia Siddiqui.

USA doesn't give 30,000 Pakistanis';

(1) visas'
(2) permission

to enter USA inside 2 years time.

USA doesn't issue licenses for Pakistani nationals to use illegal bore weapons anywhere inside USA.

Pakistan Govt. is not only doing it, it has escalated its efforts many fold in this regard, in these last 2 years.

do you know the meaning of diplomatic immunity???those people captured with illegal weapons were from American embassy thats the story I heard and according to Geneva convention which Pakistan is signatory of you cant arrest any one related to diplomatic mission....

- Would Pakistanis' have this kind of diplomatic immunity in US ?

- Would US allow Pakistanis' to carry illegal bore weapons anywhere they wanted, in US ?

They can't hide behind diplomatic immunity, as host country we have the discretion on what rules we set and these have to be followed otherwise diplomats can be expelled. If gillani gives them kuli chuti through Interior ministry they they is not much anyone can do.

immunity is inside their embassy and they are bound to obey the law of the land, can't roam around with fake paper/IDs and illegal weapons

but what i don't understand is your love for the invaders?

It is interesting to note, people here;

(1) haven't said a word in support/defense of Pakistani people
(2) haven't called for US to make its visa process hassle-free, for ease of Pakistani nationals

yet, these same people, actively defend US's right for the same.

Only Pakistan in the whole world accepting pressure from US.
Some brave leadership is needed out their,relating to the areas famous for their braveness..
I am referring to actually a psychological point here.We should also go with kepp changing the people according to the situation out in the world..
And GOD has given to us variety of land fulled with variety of people mind set..
So why not try some brave leadership from any brave piece of Land in pakistan.....

Aid Pakistan mein dictatorship ko strenthen karnay k leye dictators ko di gaye. American penuts ka aik dana bhi Pakistani ghareeb awam ko nhi mila.

Pakistan should issue the following statement:

"WE LOOK FORWARD TO CREATION OF A VISA MECHANISM THAT WILL ENABLE PAKISTANI PUBLIC DO THEIR JOBS WITHOUT INTERFERENCE.THEY WON"T BE HUMILIATED LIKE ANIMALS"

Like the middle eastern countries Pakistani citizen should be allowed to issue IQAMA(permit) to enter Pakistan against a fee of $1000 and security deposit of $50000. Pakistani issuing iqama should keep American's passport in his possession . If that American acts naughtily then he should be kicked out and his IQAMA canceled and his security deposit should be forfeited.

Ager aaj hum hassle-free visa mang rhey hain to aap ko bora lag rha hey?

O bhai ...Pakistani embassy main passport drop kertey dar lagta hey ke wapas bhi meley ga ya kho jaey ga.
