    under the protection of hudood ordinance the incidence of rape increased ten fold, thousands of women were raped at large and their complains refused for they were unable to bring four witnesses. But when they gave birth to an illegitimate children they were sent to jails.

    This is the effects and results of hudood ordinance that Mr Haris Khan want us to read and praise.

    Why does Hudood always revolve around women's rights, sexual misconduct and blasphemy?

    So many big guns would walk around with amputated hands if the ordinance applies theft penalty. How about alcohol consumption, homosexuality, bestiality, sorcery, fortunetelling, gambling, usury and business matters?

    How can you claim to restore justice to women when you believe their witness is equal to half of men and don't have equal inheritance rights.

    Is this not a political issue i.e., justice for women ?

    Why has this thread been confined to 'Faith and Religion' ? This thread is yet another crystal clear example which shows that one cannot! separate DEEN from power/politics.

    I protest!. I want this thread moved back! to the category 'Current Issues'.

    @barackosama: I haven't studied Hudood Ordinance in detail. However, I believe it does cover some of the points you mention.

    That is why (sarcasm) 'sharref' (/sarcasm) people in our society are trying to repeal it or have already repealed it.

    This thread needs to be put on main page, so ALL the men and women, ALL Muslim citizens of this nation can be made aware of what is happening in this country with regards to protection of our girls, our women.
