    we are still a billion times better than Saudi Arabia!

    http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/saudi-arabia/saudi-order-to-lash-elderly-woman-yet-to-be-carried-out-1.556350

    Before profiling or accusing the lady, do keep in mind she is 75 yrs old. Al Jazeera News says that the woman and the two men were having an Anti-Israel debate and the Syrian lady was discussing on how Palestine has changed during her lifetime. Meanwhile they were caught offguard by a couple of Mutawwas (Saudi religious police) who entered the premises without warrants and arrested all three individuals. One of the men, has been breast-fed by the woman during his infancy.

    Shameless!

    @ kq,

    :) exactly my point!

    My favorite posting was:

    • Accountant, 30, seeks misyar marriage with Saudi woman. Age, experience, number of children, widow or single or divorced unimportant. What is important is her ability to satisfy the needs of a man who desires things permitted by religion (halal).

    AND

    • 'Why buy a cow when milk is free?'

    Its funny on how religion is misused at so many levels!

    That time has long gone when people were fooled into accepting saudi as islamic model.

    People are fully aware of saudi fraud. A family of thug protected by Western countries.

  7. Even today people are fooled into believing the deviant ideology of Saudi's, just because people think they control Makkah and Medina, they must be right!

    Posted 2 years ago on 22 Dec 2009 9:29 #
  8. Makkah and Medina are Islam's holliest 'mukamat' but that does not mean else where Saudia or Saudis are equally holy. That is not the case.
    Just have a look at Saudi's out of Saudi Arabia and you will realize what character Saudi majority is blessed with!

    Yeah, thats what I mean. Anyway, till now I have not been lucky enough to visit these holy cities, but someone who did get a chance to go there, said: "aghar Allah taala ne Saudia arab walon ko baksh diya, tau hum se tau hisaab bhi nahi ho gha".

    @Umer

    I think Saudia has moved into right direction very recently. For instance, saudi King fired the cleric who opposed the newly built University, simply because it was co-ed and taught evolution. They have also put a ban on fatwas. It is not kings family that is in power, it is the clerics that rule Saudi Arabia. These clerics have been ruling their minds, a problem that is not just limited to Saudi Arabia but across the muslim world. All the reform that one sees, whether in Saudi Arabia, or in Pakistan (democracy, hudood ordinance) are inevitable. I remember when a maulana announced that a person will burn his TV set outside of a mosque to show his love for Islam when I was in Karachi, and he actually burned it with crowd in a circle around him. This is our mentality, how does one solve the problem of so much ignorance that is prevalent across the muslim world.

    @ Shock,

    Ive spent 15 yrs in Saudi Arabia (born there too!). Even now I visit Saudi frequently for work and Umrah reasons.

    Saudi hasn't change a TAD bit! Its a confused society lead by power-hungry and extremely insecure leaders. When I was Riyadh last week, my friend got arrested because he 'tried' to enter a mall without 'family'. Mind you the Mall had hundreds of bachelors roaming around but the religious police there chose to arrest that guy for the sole reason that he was wearing quarters (short pants). But since that wasnt a good reason, he was told that he is being arrested for entering a FAMILYMALL without family.

    My female colleague wasn't allowed to drive and when she tried to travel using a taxi, she was chased by saudi youngsters who thought that since she isnt wearing an abaaya and is traveling alone, she has to be a prostitute.

    More recently, the jail sentence of a 75 yr old women who was 'accompanied' by 2 non-related men sets another epic example of their jahaalat.

    Its a confused and ugly society.

    @anti pk

    No one is perfect, what are you talking about?

    @sherwani

    Saudi or family of ibne saud were given the territory by british after snatching it from Sharif Hussain. This family isn't sincere with their own people how do you expect them to respect a guest or foreign Muslim.

    They are tyrants supported by secular & democratic global powers.

    A simple man cann't understand my words

    "A simple man cann't understand my words"

    Change 'simple' to 'sane', and that would be a right thing to say. And I would suggest that a sensible "next step" might be to reconsider your opinion regarding Pakistan.

  19. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    Actually, I'v seen one example, where one Pakistani community in-fact treated a woman badly. Of-course she was not as old as the person in this news. I have a Pakistani friend in Canada who told me about it.

    Perhaps, the problem in this thread is -> 'our standards'. The standards we set for ourselves are too low.

    Look at sasherwani for example. He's advocating the fact that Pakistan is 'better' than the 'worst'. What kind of 'standard' of 'betterment' is that ? How does that make us great ? We have to improve ourselves.

    P.S. I wonder who's right and who's wrong in the original post. I am not sure if an old woman could have strong lust at this age. "Being in the company of two men, who were not her relatives" is a strong allegation.

    An Islamic society is based on the fundamental unit of a 'family'. If a woman knowingly violates the sanctity of a 'family', she opens the door for 'social injustice' in the society. One should be punished for it.

    In a Muslim society;

    - there are legal ways of satisfaction of one's 'lust'. For centuries, they have proven more than enough for the masses living in a Muslim state

    - the protection of sanctity of a 'family unit' is more important than one person's will to illegally achieve satisfaction for their 'lust' which has gone 'out of control'.

    If i change "Sane" to with only increase of "In" i.e "Insane"

    then the word is perfect.
