The first would be no interference from outside. Second would be police force transfered to the city as like it is the case in any civilized nation, so no big brotherly role. Third would be isi limits its operation in karachi, army should concentrate on its primary role, and the last but not least, grow the heck up and stop whining about karachi and spend time on other pressing issues, opportunists.

Yes Aftab, but not as pressing as Balochistan. Don't you think all these killings are occured to keep people's attention away from the real thing. If we keep hunting ghost, we will not realize and lose balochistan shortly, so mark my words.

I think both are equally important and both should be bought to the forefront of public attention but the people we have in power are all fighting for they own political power rather than concentrating on myriad of really serious problems that blight this nation.

I am totally with you on power struggle.but if you look closely, it is ppp, pml(a-z) and army are waist deep in corruption. In the time of 90's operation, all the land along the shore line was awarded to army personnels, what would you call that. These isi folks are endangering people's lives, they are pretty much in every political party. And this is the situational commonality between karachi and Balochistan, isi is involved in criminal activities across the board. If it was a political party, such activities could be eradicated but it is not the case. The establishment is nervous about handing over police to metropolitan. Obviously, these intelligence outfits will be exposed.

I am sure ISI has got it's fingers in every pie but this doesn't mean that Political Parties are totally innocent and blameless, they are elected by the public and thus have a primary responsibility to the electorate and as such are failing miserably at the moment.

Law enforcers should have zero tollerance for terrorists and their criminal gangs who give backing to these criminals.

Using iron hand disband and ban MQM's unit/sector terror cells,Liyari's amn committe,ANP's wards,Sunni Tehreek's unit terror cells.

Any one claiming to be their member should be publicly thrashed on roundabouts and then jailed, once all these scum bags are taken off the road then normalcy might return , otherwise there is little hope that things will stabilize.

AND lastly the most important thing. Current governing lot is impotent, handling this mess isn't their cup of tea..

Only MUHIB-E-WATAN(Patriotic) General can clean up this mess..

  14. it seems like everybody has lost interest in the country.
money is the only concern left for the rulers as well as for the other political parties.

in this case , i only see a change of Govt.
somehow ,new Govt in its initial phase always tries to prove itself good...maybe just for the reputation but still .

You are absolutely right. Everybody seems to have lost interest in the country. Our almost all classes of people like teachers, mullahs, lawyers, politicians, army generals, govt. officials have become corrupt. Now Rangers also seem to be interested in making money. There is no military solutions to the problems of Karachi. We don't need any Tikka Khan or Nasirullah Baber. We need an intelligent and honest politician.

Let us see how Pakistan survives with the blessings of Allah

Property Managment Acadmy(PMA) teachs them every them but how to fight the enemy. They are very good when it comes to deputation in cities like Karachi. The area I live a new college for IT education was build.A 100 plus room brand new building was about to start, addmissions were annouced but then they it falls in Rangers hand. Its was 95 and now its 17-18 years they still sccupied the building. Those who were supposed tobe learning computers are now learning how to snatch a mobile.

    Irshad Bhai
I read your other post too where you talked about the manesfisto stuff.what about lyari.MQM has nothing to do with lyari and they cannot enter that area.Law and order is very examplery there. No drugs, no arms, no criminals.
And its all heppening before MQM.I'm not an advocate of MQM but do hold my mind when I've to speak on public fourums.
I think Raza Rabbani, Ms sherry rehman, faisal RAza Abdi,Ms Shehla all are mohajirs. So better stop using this word and it sound"hate crime" this has nothing to do with ethinicity.

i expressed reflection of view point by MQM that this city owned by MQM only with one ethinicity.

    paramilitary-proposal-rangers-claim-they-can-stop-target-killings-in-one-month/

    ISLAMBAD:
As the authorities struggle to contain the frequent outbreaks of target killings in Karachi, paramilitary forces have made a strong-worded offer to the government: Give us one new helicopter, 800 bulletproof jackets and a free hand in the city, and we will eliminate the phenomenon within one month.

The Pakistan Rangers Sindh is said to have been long denied by the government the required resources to combat the alarming violence in Karachi –– which has meant that the paramilitary force’s success in controlling target killings in Karachi has been minimal.

The force is facing financial troubles and requires close to half a billion rupees and a new helicopter to replace its old one, which was grounded last month.

Official documents available with The Express Tribune reveal that this offer was made by the brass of the Pakistan Rangers during a closed-door briefing given to a parliamentary body which had visited Karachi. The meeting was said to have been called to discuss the issue of target killing, and deputy director-general (DDG) of the Rangers briefed the parliamentary panel on the overall law and order situation.

“If the government of Sindh gives us free hand, we can stop the situation of targeted killing within one month,” a determined DDG Rangers was said to have claimed in the meeting, adding that the force was facing serious shortage of required resources and equipment.

The parliamentary committee has now brought this offer into the notice of interior ministry which is the controlling authority at the federal level.

“For us, this is not an impossible mission to pull off,” the parliamentarians were told.

According to sources, the government had long ignored requests by the paramilitary force for equipment and funding to combat target killings as well as the several mafias operating in the city. In addition, law-enforcers have also complained about political expediencies playing havoc with efforts to control the city’s law and order situation.

Now, the sources said, the Rangers authorities had now formally told the government that it could eliminate targeted killings if it were given what it needs – most importantly a ‘free hand’.

However, the sources said, there was little hope that interior ministry would give a free hand to the force keeping political interests in view. One source, who was present in the meeting, said that not a single member of the parliamentary body seemed to be too enthusiastic about the Rangers’ offer.

aap ne sahi kaha bhai sahab. Rangers need 50 carore rupees, all they would do is to occupy more govt. schools and colleges. Some time ago, I wrote that rangers running factories inside the govt school compounds. I my self bought fake sprite bottle crates from rangers, their factory was in a govt school building in Nazimabad No.1.

Rangers have learned their lessons well from Army.

They are operating shadi halls and have started doing catering business as well

One nice shadi hall run by rangers is in B Block North Naz.

They 'conquered' the State Bank land and are enjoying their 'deputation'

On a serious note, if anyone is sincere, they would start with reforming the police. And having people from local population would be a good start. The local bodies system worked (atleast in Khi) because the councilors were local and accessible.

However, this govt took a step back and took the democracy is the best revenge by removing democracy at the grassroot level.

    Dear brothers,

I here by mention you all that there is solution for peace and prosperity in Karachi ,this is possible by tolerance and cooperation with each other, during MQM period of power all the political parties cooperated with them and city was growing not because an other system ,police ,leaders. Same police and system is present now but the matter is that there is lake of cooperation and likes and dislikes in our society .MQM want fail any government by making law and order problem in city to show off that oh look during their government there was good governance but they forgotten that who was another party in majority cooperating with them and not creating any problems may be right or wrong done by them but they were peaceful .MQM want power only in the Karachi this is weak point for them and they don’t care about Pakistan .they know how to target the people and same as other ethnics stored a lot of weapons to compete with them like wise ANP sure they can not stay without guns but it is clear that during MQM time ANP,PPP were peaceful. This proves that who is real problem maker in Karachi all this indicates that MQM does not want any one in Karachi to govern. And they believe in divide and rule policy.

For got sake think for Pakistan and don’t think as a party may be any party running the government just cooperate each other to make Pakistan strong country. And save the future generation from hatred. Stop thinking that if we cooperated with running government and something went good and this credit will go to XYZ and our vote bank will be lost, this perception harmed the country a lot and we have forget the past thoughts and improve the skills to serve our country toward betterment.

  30. Rangers cant make PEACE in KU(Karachi University) how would they able to make peace in whole Karachi?????I think some FOOL would gonna believe Rangers can do something about Karachi but being a Karachiite I am Hopeless of they bringing anything to Karachi.....

The best Solution would be Local Empowerment and CONTROL....Karachi works slightly different from most Parts of the Country.....In Punjab for example their is a idea of having Centralized Control because decentralized or Local system couldnt able to Deliver the results but on the Other hand in Karachi Decentralization has more appeal because It has actually DELIVER the results lot better then Centralized one.....

Their is a different ground reality in each part of the World and it differs from area and whether to its Demographics...In Urban Sindh their is a large chunk of Educated and professional people who have got alot of Ideas to solve their Problems but Interior Sindh where most People are not much Educated and have very less idea about Solving Issues and Problems makes a Majority and Dominates the Provincial administration as well which doesnt able to Work out very well for whole Province so understanding the situation some Reforms are required in Administrative setup at least....The Solution is Different Administration setup....Let Urbn Sindh by its Population density should have MORE AUTHORITY of Locally ELECTED administrator(Including one of Law enforcement Authority i.e Police or Rangers) while in Interior Sindh with respect to Population density should have more authority of Provincial Govt.....Urban Sindh can CONTRIBUTE from itself to their development due to having a huge Business setup but Interior Sindh would require contribution of High level Authority to have some development.....

Without going after terror wings of ANP,MQM,Sunni Tehreek and PPP's amn committee things in Karachi won't stabilize, their financial lifeline(Bhatha) collected by all these criminals working under the umbrella of their respective political parties should also be dealt with otherwise as long as their financial lifeline isn't disrupted these criminals would continue to keep popping up.

Obviously people currently running the show(MQM,ANP,PPP) are themselves part of the problem so its no surprise that they are not serious in dealing with this issue.

Operation is the only solution, using iron hand disband and ban MQM's unit/sector terror cells,Liyari's amn committe,ANP's wards,Sunni Tehreek's unit terror cells.

Because of continued political interference Police isn't capable of dealing with this target killing and extortion monster and these hardened notorious criminals,so if Rangers say they can achieve results within a month then give them a free hand and resources they require..

(All these parties affiliated with these criminals would
definitely create hue and cry and would start whining about Ranger's 'atrocities' but sadly there is no other solution left.)

this is not the case actually and law is same enforceable to each and every one....
Your other observation shows the level of maturity of your observation. If some shurta allows saudi and disallowed non saudi this is not in any way relevant to saudi law but relevent to human psyche and saudi shurta individually....

I think Pakistan is a failure and Karachi represent what's going on in the country right now.

Believe it or not we hate each other based on the languages we speak. You guys might not want to admit it but this is a fact. This can not propagate for a long time.

Criminals are hiding under the umbrella of ethnic language based political parties . When MQM hit man kills some innocent rag picker or peanut seller then pathans unconsciously start hating all muhajirs, same is the case when ANP hitman or bhathakhor guns down or demands bhatha from innocent hardworking muhajirs.

All these criminal gangs working under political patronage should be disbanded and all these criminals should be given exemplary punishment publicly otherwise this mess would continue.

Karachi is fast becoming unlivable. first it was only MQM Altaf's bhathakhor gang, one has to not only deal with Altaf's gang but ANP,Sunni Tehreek and Amn commitee as well, Traders and industrialists(few industrial areas like SITEetc are infested with ANP goons) are packing up and new investments/expansions have been canceled or diverted to other places..

i think still your brain is not refreshed about interior sindh educated people ,by the way you are talking about 1970 arena where i can admit that time there was lot of illitracy but as compare of now days situation which is opposit because now no one can blaikmail and snatch the rights from interior sindh people who have large number of educated people just visit sindh university and mehran university, liaqat medical university ,ISRA university and visit UK,USA,Middile east ,ARMY,FIA,Police you will find the generation who belongs 1980 to 2011 generation with large number of professionals working abroad and competant officers in ARMY,IB,Police,Custom, working on high regard positions after passing public service examinations.i think sindhees are more petriotic then other nations they have adopted silent policy of growing among other nations but they have still striving and only old generation left behind who have been working under fuedol system.new generation even do'nt know who is MNA,MPA in his regeon.

MQM want give benifit on ethnic bases by this way if you put all resources only on ethinc bases then you will find development, but when you think equal rights for all basis then sure there will be development but not like MQM type of development in which they made aside other nations and they looking after only about karachi and forgetting whole sindh, PPP have a huge contribution in karachi Gulistan-e- jouher the asia's largest project initaied by ppp to make ease for karachi people ,sabzi mandi out of city also a big step, still they wanted to sindh seratariate should be out of city but MQM refused. these are main things need to be considered to resolve the issues.

pppp cooperated MQM during mushi timeand that time every thing as going good but now when ppp in power MQM destablizing the system becz there is no power with them.
